    Hello everyone!
    Written instructions for the gauge swatch are located in the description box now.
    I realize I didn't put the shoulder measurement/gauge swatch instructions around 2:12 in centimeters. So here are the instructions for people using the metric system with my measurements as an example:
    Shoulder measurement/10 = measurement A
    36/10 = 3.6 (measurement A)
    Measurement A * number of sts from gauge swatch = measurement B
    3.6 * 5 = 18 (measurement B)
    Measurement B * 3 = number of foundation slip stitches
    18 * 3 = 54 (number of foundation slip stitches used in row 1)
    ALSO... When counting the odd rows for your back panel do NOT count row 1. I technically have 24 rows for my back panel if I include row 1 in that as well. That was a mistake on my end, sorry!

      @@zoyaali7980 Hiya at 3:56 you need to follow rows 1-3 then repeat row 3 until your swatch is at least 15cmx15cm or 6x6 inches. It's not mentioned in the video, but you'll need to make sure you're foundation row, is in multiples of three, as you'll be working row two (the mesh stitches) in every 3rd stitch. Then when completed you need to measure 4 inches horizontal on your swatch, and count how many mesh stitches fit into 4 inches. That's the measurement your need to work out the rest of the measurements mentioned at the start of the video. Hope this helps. I've got photos if needed ☺

      I'd say style it just like she did! Wearing it over a tank top or crop top would look best. Since it's white, I think it would look fine over any color. As for pants, shorts or jeans would probably look great with it. Hope that helps :)

  • @aranzapalomares9185

    I honestly didn't get the foundation row nor did the swatch😭 if anyone's like me, i simply measured my shoulders and chained that measure but made it match a multiple of 3 (+1 chain for height) and then made a row of slip stitches

    could you also make the sleeve without the turn ? it seems easier to just crotchet it in the round, but im unsure if that wil make the sleeve bad

    I’m confused about your gauge stitch. You say that yours is 5 to get the 4”. Are you accounting the single crochet in the mesh rather than the stitches in the foundation rows? Because 5 stitches in the bottom row is less than 2 loops, so this made no sense to me. Can anyone clarify what you are actually measuring in the gauge?

    • @brittanyalicecrochet
      @brittanyalicecrochet  2 года назад +2

      When I say 5 sts, I mean 5 mesh stitches. It seems I didn't make that clear enough! So you are going to be counting each mesh stitch, which is from one single crochet to the next single crochet. So that means you'll be counting each chain space as one mesh stitch.

      I was having trouble too but I figured it out. Each chain is a stitch. Horizontally just count each little rain shaped chain. Vertically you count the chain in a zigzag going up or you can count each knot as 2 stitches.

    hello ! i reeaally want to make this but i'm a little confused. how do you count the # of stitches for the gauge swatch ??
    also, you use a 4"x4" gauge swatch for your measurements and the example, but you say ours needs to be at least 6"x6" ? does that mean we would multiply our 'measurement A' by however many stitches it takes to get 6" across ?

    • @brittanyalicecrochet
      @brittanyalicecrochet  2 года назад +1

      At 0:57 you can see what my gauge swatch looks like. You are going to be counting each mesh stitch, which is from one single crochet to the next single crochet. So that means you'll be counting each chain space as one mesh stitch.
      Making a 6x6 square just ensures your 4x4 measurement will be more accurate because the edges can sometimes mess up the measurement. So for measurement A you will still use the number of stitches 4" across

    Been following this steadily for like a week. Kept on getting the measurements wrong, but i finally made it to the sleeves. But I'm stuck. Like is the sleeve mesh holes supposed to be reducing. I had 24 initially after seaming, but after 5 rows of the sleeves i have 18. Am i doing something wrong?

      you just follow the steps for the front panel section but instead do around 30 foundation stitches and repeat the rows until the swatch is 6x6 inches

    Is there supposed to be a "cap" so to speak on how many increases to make on the front panel? I followed the pattern and increase instructions but now my top is WAY too big in the front, where I either have a lot of space when I tie the ties together OR a large bunch when I try to tie it tightly. (The back and shoulders fit perfectly though.)
