    • @strawberryskates
      @strawberryskates 7 месяцев назад +7

      @@jacque9929 I’m a very new crocheter too. What I did was make two rectangles where the height is from the bottom of the top to where I want the armhole to start & width is the distance between the front and back of the top when I put it on my body. Then connected the two sides of the rectangle to the front and back side by seaming them together. This creates space for the armhole! Sorry if the explanation is confusing & lemme know if you have any questions!

And added a row of sc on the end of the sleeves and a scalloped edge on those as well. Such a fun project! I wish I had made the shoulder panels a bit wider, but I will on my next try!

    I love the pattern but a little bit less from shoulder to shoulder didn't work for mine and it ended up too tight. I would recommend to measure from your back shoulder to shoulder and don't make it any shorter.

    • @neamhcridhe6475
      @neamhcridhe6475 5 месяцев назад +1

      it also depends on the type of yarn used and how tight or loose your tension is as to how wide to make it, but yes, always measure so that you have a baseline just in case. since i make doll clothes, i am always putting it on the doll as i go because most of my stuff i make is pattern-less.

    • @Kat-ne9ww
      @Kat-ne9ww 5 месяцев назад

      i made mine to how she did in the video and mine crosses over a bit.. you can either make the tie strings longer to that you can wrap it around the backside and tie it, or completely stitch the front two panels ontop of each other and not do the straps at all! if you do this, be sure to leave plenty of room to be able to get it on/off, and if you feel it is too loose, look into elastic thread to add into the bottom! hope this helps!

    I have made half of one of the sleeves and I just realised I hadn’t been turning at the start of each round, I was just crocheting in the same direction the whole time. I’m not sure if I need to restart or not?it hasn’t seemed to cause any obvious problems yet.

      I dont think it really is a problem if you dont see a difference in your sleeve compared to the sleeve in the video :)

    Did I miss you saying how much yarn you used for this? I’m new to crochet and I feel like I have yarn blindness I have to look at numbers or I don’t know how much I need 😂
