He's addressed it before, he still likes his analog watches but he wants the functionality that the Apple Watch provides so that's why he wears both. It makes sense.
IMHO, this car only competes with Aston Martin and Bentley when it comes to price. I just don’t see a Bentley person cross shopping this car. It’s tailored for a specific type of person. performance oriented = Maclaren GT, luxury oriented = Bentley, in-between = Aston Martin.
Is this thing really that spacious? i always hear about putting golf clubs or tripods in it, but these are all narrow and long. but what about a big rimowa aluminium suitcase or similar? somehow i think these kind of things won‘t fit
If we're honest we have to add the 911 Turbo and Turbo S to this sporty line up of GTs. And I think that the new 992 will do everything better than the Mclaren GT.
Plus, a lot of 570S's got sold. I live in Houston, if I see a McLaren, typically it's a 570S. So a 570GT was probably in high demand, at the time. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Jonny Lieberman says he prefers the 570GT.
Hearing that the “important stuff” is on the sides, worries me. Like, a simple fender bender to the rear quarter panel could cause some catastrophic damage to the exhaust system lol. Idk maybe I’m overthinking
@@geethsan1567 Yeah in the end it all comes down to personal taste... but I hate the idea of a mid-engined GT. I'd take a ten year old DBS over this anyday.
Frustrating - was hoping my question if you hit the brakes would your golf clubs knock you out would be answered! Really nice looking car and I'd call it a Grand-ish Tourer. For the times you're going further than you'd want in a 720s, but not quite an epic journey. Which is fine; it fits in a segment that nobody else seems to have covered.
Is it a mid engined coupe on stilts, which gives it horrible proportions, while barely improving its carrying capacity? Does it still have the same basic interior of any mclaren with just better materials? Does it video feel staged from mclaren? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
Sorry i understand the clear difference between sport and gt, but it just seems like a 570gt with a facelift. Still a beautiful car and would love to have one, but it does seem like more of an updated car than a totally new car.
I'd just get the Bentley Conti GT V8 if I want a GT. These cars that delve into couple categories are usually not great at either. Its not gonna be a great supercar or or GT.
The DBS is the most beautiful car on sale today so that alone would lead me to it over the GT. Also, everyone knows and I know I'm not the first to say it... If you want a fast, sporty, comfortable, opulent GT you buy a Continental GT. End of story.
It needs a roof rack and a hitch so you can attach a bike rack. And also be a midengine station wagon so i can put a dog in the back. McLaren super practical car
Ferrari did the same 35 years ago with the Testarossa which was a mid Engined GT Car and then turned back to Front Engine with the 550 cause it just makes more sense for a GT car. Nothing has changed since then. Mid engined GT car is just a plain stupid concept. Front Engine gives a much more comfortable balance to the car with less vertical movement over rought roads, so you can run softer suspension. Plus you have more useable Space and a Front engined car handles much safer on wet roads or even on snow which is something to consider if you call a Car Grand Tourismo. And the design sucks alot
POS car... i've owned one of these for 9 months. 5th time at dealer for multiple issues. brakes squeal, hatch rattle, dash board leather shrink, keyfob stopped working even with new battery, car just went limp with Engine system fault.... do you really want a $250K vehicle that spends more time at dealer than at home with you? DO NOT BUY MCLAREN... BEAWARE. i really believe that anyone who says these are good cars is paid for by McLaren to say that.
Alanthecat I understand how a mid engines car aquires air for cooling and the basic intake. I’m just saying the design language is very similar. As in similar lines and angles.
every other day "this is the NEW McLaren ______!" 😒 they all look like a 12c thats been tweaked and have like the same basic engine with different tunes. theres not enough differentiation between McLaren models. if u want a Luxurious GT get a Bentley Continental or an Aston tbh (theyre also less likely to catch fire and constantly break themselves lolol)
Bentley is not and NEVER will be a natural competitor to this. Instead some of Mercedes AMG GT and Porsche 911 GTS or Turbos S along with some slightly older Ferrari GTS are the more natural set of rivals.
Uglier than 570S and 720S. 720S is already too comfortable. This GT also does not have enough practical space to make it worthwhile to settle for its shortcomings. This will not sell.
I don't get that golf thing, how does the most boring sport in the world relate to fast cars? Does someone really drive 250km/h on a highway and then drag along all day following the ball he just hit
“McLaren doesn’t like to think it has direct rivals”, yes, but McLaren also likes to think it’s cars are well built, reliable and have good resale - proof they are deluded.
A car like this is meant to be seen (from the outside, duh), but the video has lots of interior shots of the commentator. I'm not interested in buying the commentator, so maybe his camera time should be small with respect to the purpose of the car, to see it.
Idiot Question:- Yes the Audi R8 V10+ isn't a GT car, but its widely considered to be as the best daily supercar, Is the McLaren GT a better daily than the R8? Or is the GT a car which makes no sense?
The other cars are too brash for some. This is a luxury model to compete with Aston Martin. I for one would choose this over the majority of McLaren models out there.
This video was a good watch, watch.
He just crossed two continents that's why he wore two watches..Lol
Now that was a chuckle. Kudos.

Firebrand and on his third leg too.

Someone tell him what a GMT watch is.
Yay, I get two watch a reviewer with two watches
Insane coupe from McLaren!
Looks like a Spaceship!
I like how he matched his watchbands to the car color.
Why would people be split on the looks? It's gorgeous like all McLarens. Arguably has the best back end of any car ever made.

Hey Bro....what’s the time?
Which one? Real time or twat time?
Why do you sit so close to the steering wheel?
Fiji Fi why do you sit so close to your keyboard?
Probably because hes more bothered about being comfortable and in control than looking like a 18 year old wannabe bad boy
Good review 👍
My question is, can I drive it to the Alps and back without it falling apart?
pollumG or burning down
or making all sorts of bing and bong warning noises when pushed to the slightest of its full capability
Should it have smaller wheels with more rubber?
Why two watches?
He has all the time lol
One is a watch, the other is an ASBO tag
GinasT flex
Two continents crossed.. that's why.
1 smart, 1 mechanical
Love the look of it but wonder if a turbo S wouldn’t just do the job better.
HawkMillFarm and what job would that be?
I'd say almost everything but sound and rarity. I'd have a 570s over both though
I thought the panamera is a good GT car and one of the more practical ones ?
Carrera 4 all day. (brand allegiance alert)
Cam RSR no need for the 4 imo, but I’d be hard pressed to send my money to somewhere other than Stuttgart.

Or a Wraith, DB11, GT. Depends upon buyer's preference. I know I wouldn't mind getting a mid-engined GT like this one.

So who has the better trunk, the McLaren GT or the C8 Corvette? Interior appointments a given, McLaren, but who can keep it cooler?
McLaren SUV next, you know it,we know it,the whole World knows it!

McLaren only have the one platform and one engine so no SUV.

I'd agree. The front end is a struggle. A tonal color palette - like the car here - or in something dark works better.
I think the back needs some work too

Do people actually "cross continents" with GTs? For long drives, sure.
Geeth San no, luxury is about the ability or capability. Rarely used as is intended.
