She has mastered the ability to answer questions like a politician.
Saying a lot without saying anything.
Yes, but I actually think she says more than more seasoned league execs would. If you listen to league commish's they say less than she did and it's more likely than not that this will be the most open she will be as she climbs through the ranks lol
all these people just mouth words for a living
Laura studied Law and was a Solicitor.
Well given that the AFL acts politically every chance it gets, it's not surprising
Yep its all smoke & mirrors ... as usual
Well that’s 15 minutes I’ll never get back
She sounds like a HR lady
I said " Good morning " to a female co worker ... my case will be heard by the all female HR panel next Tuesday, i can already hear the gallows being constructed !

She dodged every question. Seriously, what is the point of the chat? lol
The league is scared because of legal liability. Simple. That’s why she won’t discuss it.
Footy classified knew this but wanted to look like they were being strong.
Rubbish television….
All talk no action another political correct yes lady
Honestly dont think she actually answered a single question with any conviction. You cant start saying “imagine if we let the fans decide the rules” to then, “the community outlay is that we dont want this in our sport”, within the same point. The community is what keeps the game alive, and without it, she wouldnt be in a job.
Why can't she 'go into' the topic of salary cap?
Yeah I thought that was strange. I think if a player is deemed (by an independent panel of medical professionals no less) to not be fit to play again that shouldn't count against the overall salary that teams are playing to their players lol
Think it is to do with Contract Confidentiality. They are not allowed to talk about anything money or anything about a specific clubs salary cap. Even players aren't allowed to release what they themselves get paid.
It is forbidden by Sharia law
@@hbvlogs3474 There is nothing stopping her talking about the Salary Cap rules.
@@hbvlogs3474 yeah that part.. why!? Should all be transparent
Well, I learnt pretty much SFA from that.
Eddie : "it was a Carlton player, so why wasn't he suspended?"
Maynard ends a guy's career and he's happy for him to play in the grand final
Brayshaw ended his own career by not protecting himself... and apparently he got a hit not long before the Maynard incident.
Not to mention a history of concussions. I recon Brayshaw was already concussed during that match or before at some point because his awareness when Maynard was running directly at him was poor. He had a good 20 metres of separation between maynard when he first took possession of the ball and failed to take any evasive action. Feel sorry for the bloke but you've gotta keep your head up in football. Even if someone doesn't mean to you could get seriously hurt if you stop paying attention. And obviously Maynard's hit was an accident@@johndoe5061
Shithouse take
Pretty much everyone hated Opening round....what's she on about
What about the player weights!!!!
More pandering to the mentally weak
Blah Blah Blah - could not give one straight answer
How many many men did she jump over because of this gender equality BS.
The NHL has LTIR (Long Term Injured Reserve) which means that players with injuries deemed serious enough that they will miss a significant amount of time won't count against a team's salary cap (the expansion and defending Stanley Cup champions Vegas Golden Knights have been accused of exploiting this rule to load up on expensive big name players at trade deadline time lol)
This is one of the worst interviews I’ve ever watched in my lire
so based on that progression a bump in 5 years may get you a life sentence in prison.
No congratulations from me. The Clarko punishment was a total overreaction, but fits in with how woke the virtue signalling AFL has become. The c***sucker word wasn't used in a homophobic way and very few people think of that word in that way.
The drug policy/code for illicit drugs that aren't performance enhancing has no teeth and clubs just sweep issues under the carpet. The AFL and the MFC have known for several years about Oliver's drug use along with poor behaviour that includes a poor attitude towards other people and vandalising cars. Nothing much was done and the AFL certainly didn't intervene. The AFL did decide to intervene when Tarryn Thomas was exposed for sending nasty text messages to women. I have to question if that is any worse than what Oliver has been doing. Mental health issues played a part in both, but the fallout is poles apart with North losing Thomas without any compensation and Oliver able to play without AFL interference. Next year another club picks an elite talent in Thomas up for next to nothing.
OK had no idea who she was, so was her op to impress me, and she failed.
The AFL need to put the brakes on the cocaine problem rampant throughout the league. In US football one strike, one random positive test and your career is over the AFL need to be as hard and players will soon fall into line and an example needs to be set for the juniors coming up.
So many of them do it, even the coaches. That's the problem. It's a cultural problem deeply seeded in generations of players and coaches
Coke is the only drug that leaves the body after a reasonable time. Let the boys smoke some choof in their downtime. Would reduce snow consumption
@notskottkendall they're all illegal mate. you saying the afl should endorse weed just because it ain't snow?
@@frostie0 I wasn't making a serious comment
Recreational drug use is always going to be rampant at any club level. It’s not just a problem at afl clubs it’s a problem everywhere in society
I Think she seems quiet intelligent & the majority of her answers where spot on! Sometimes you have to dance around certain questions due to not offending 9 out of 10 people...
Let’s be honest, does it really matter what the AFL says?
They behave more like a political party than a sporting organisation.
Can’t take them seriously anymore
Good to see Barrett out smarted by his boos of the AFL
Twilight or night grand final move forward😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
The seating arrangements could be better. Looks like a naughty seat sitting alone 😊
She climbed up on the fence just before the cameras started rolling, and sat there smiling and nodding for 15 minutes and 17 seconds… what a waste of time.
Why do people hold AFL players in such high regard that they cannot do AFL drugs, yet we don't have testing of our politicians who are in charge of military decisions?
Saying thats right and letting it go
Doesn’t matter anymore I can’t afford foxtell or ko only one game being shown on free to air Saturday it’s no longer the people’s game i don’t care anymore let them do what they want they will do it anyway
Please how did we end up with a politician...OMG
Soooo the difference is that it’s different…….riiiiiight 👍🏼
AFL footy boss😂 Welcome to 2024 kids
This is why women should not be in a role of this magnitude in the AFL.
Are there any real people out there anymore or everyone’s just full of crap? 💩
Real people stay in the shadows in 2024.
Drugs are great especially Ecstasy and Coke at a Rave 😀
Did she actually answer an actual question
spin doctor. talk but dont say anything
The comparison between De Goey and Webster is stupid. Webster left the ground DeGoey didn’t.
Just look at Gaff.. He's lucky Neale has a decent jaw or he could've been facing a huge suspension for an accidental shot to the head too.
Joel smith’s ruined the fun for everyone lol.
Poor guy Tom by the panel they let her off the hook so much
The media training is paying off. The fact she couldn't agree on simplifying rules and punishments is horrible.
The fact someone goes for a swing should be an instant ban. Apply the same principle used for bumps around the action and not just intent or impact. Hewitt went to hurt Neil and just got lucky he hit his shoulder.
The response on changes to the drug policy shows she doesn't believe highly paid athletes should be held to a higher standard that focuses on identifying issues sooner and fixing them. The game is funded by the fans and for the fans. We deserve more transparency.
What a waste of time, she put spin on all her answers. I don't know why I expected otherwise.
Answered absolutely nothing.
Sack AFL boarding for allowing players well being like a lottery ticket !!!
Just a lot of meaningless corporate speak from Laura Kane. She was the same on “On the Couch”.
Still Nothing about getting the average fan to the game. This game went down the toilet in the last 10 years and now is just a TV sport.
oh shut up
Bad take. Over 80k at the MCG on Thursday.
Bring back the bump biff and brawl getting soft 😅
Im really not a fan of this new CEO and what he's done so far
I like Eddie, but, time and a place
Eddie specifically mentioning a bike gang while insinuating drug manufacturing, oh no.
Eddie please be mindful of what you are saying for your own sake.😅
They are going to have so many players become full blown drug addicts !
Such a poor drug policy
Another spin doctor politicsl animal answering with media trained safe non answers. Totally avoided great mportant issues Eddie especially raised and I am not an Eddie fan overall. I reckon this is the true afl culture where brand protection is the be all and end all and I suspect Brad Scott partly left the job fairly quickly cause of that. Dreadful stuff...
High paid robot, providing AI level answers.
I gave up on the AFL back in Demetrio's first year in charge when he started dictating to people how they should behave and started politically engineering the AFL approach. Politicising the AFL was a stupid idea then and Gil took it to an even higher level. The most tax payer subsidised business in Australian history uses our money to try to dictate what we as a community should believe and try to impose their woke ideology upon us. A political correct organisation that's genuinely believes they are superior and have an obligation to impose their beliefs on others. Andrew Dillon (still early days) appears to be more level headed than his two predessors both who lost the plot to egos so hopefully he can restore respect back into the AFL as an organisation by leaving the political arena and focus on footy. This AFL lady is just a political correct mouth and sends no message of substance other than the same old story about what they desire with no real plan. Her 4 step plan is to make the game better, improve technology, be more accessible and I can't even remember the 4th one such is her non substance focus but nothing mentioned about improving the fan experience. The reality is the AFL is so expert at talking the walk they forget to walk the talk. A classic example of their stupidity was the umpire dissent rules introduced so as not to discourage people to take up umpiring in a time of perceived umpire shortage. That stupidity ceased after one year just before they went from 3 to 4 umpires acknowledging they had umpires after all. Many of their problems could be solved by treating fans with respect instead of mugs. Their focus on TV as their first priority, themselves as second priority, sponsors third with fans a distant fourth priority shows what they really think of the grass roots. What representative on the Commission is there to represent the fans? Answer is none they want nothing to do with you the great unwashed, oh they want your money just not you. Screw the fans, much easier money in TV rights was the focus until covid and games played to empty stadiums proved the real value to footy was fans, the telecasts were a disaster to watch as we're matches without the fans roar. Since that realisation the AFL have talked the fan experience focus up but nothing has been delivered of substance.
Politician double speak. Abhorrent
It's a concern that this person is running the game when she has no football knowledge whatsoever. She is absolutely clueless and this interview is embarrassing for the league. If this is the future of our National game, my goodness, could you imagine the NBA or NFL or Major league baseball being run by person who is so in it, and a complete lack of understanding of the gamAbsolutely embarrassing my goodness gracious she might be knowledgeable in business. She might be knowledgeable in people management but she has got zero football knowledge and that is a concern and major concern for our game.
why does he keep asking her over and over? is damien actually trying to pretend sports journalism is a thing?
Woman who does nothing and says nothing, beautiful, she'll be a great addition to the league 🤣🤣
Is "attempting to strike" still in the rule book? Unbelievable. How can the AFLs take seriously be, we are happy for players to throw a punch so long as no one is concussed. Yet this woman wanted to have Maynard suspended for a non suspendable act; even going over the MRO's head to attempt to do so. She answered like an inept politician. But this is what you get with a diversity hire.
Maynard should be made to pay Brayshaw’s salary.
Price to pay for being a grub and making a player retire
Yep. I reckon that’s one of the reasons for changing landscape. You won’t get much mention of it when Eddy is there
I generally like watching these guys but this was painful
laura kane is biggest drug user, even more than mclaughlin and co.
Another parasite. Female gets a gurnsey. What a joke.
Deliberate act is fineable but accidents get you weeks. What a farce.
Also, I went to the gws game and I won’t be going back next season.
Ok. Enjoy the NRL in Sydney
" A show ground for live stock "
Pretty sure someone just got 7 weeks for an intentional hit. What are you on about?
Hewitts hit was accidental? have you seen the reverse angle? Neale should be suspended
Again AFL staff just hypocrites and ignore the question
Typical afl rot. The lack of precision with the language used is insulting to any thinking person.
Worst candidate ever I worry about season 2024
Aussie (too many) rules
She is clueless 🙄
DEI HIRE
YOUR FIRED 👈
She seems completely out of her depth in this role.
Shhh she’s amazing ok she’s a woman so she has to be 😂
Based on what? Just this interview?
@@chicken-wuss gender i bet
What would you know?
@@chicken-wussbased on the fact she’s advocating for accidents to get weeks but deliberate acts are only worth a 2000 dollar fine.
come on Ed hello angels make safer drugs that Pfizer
why is it cookers can't even spell a sentence that makes sense.
Challenged? Not my definition of the word. A soft and woke interview.
What a spin machine...the AFL is bizarre, easiest one they will get all year.. Hewitt threw a jab, it slipped up into Neales face.... 1 week every day. Every person bar the most one eyed fan and those in the AFL would agree. ' reverse angle'.. shows the exact same thing 😂😂😂 Hewitt must have gone WTF.... lets go !!!
