1299 goals on mudheaps. many more flags than pendlebury. it has to be gordon coventry. don't forget that syd was a 6x premiership captain compared to pendles' ero, and Syd won a brownlow and was regarded by many as the better player of the two Coventry brothers. Didn't even mention the two collier brothers as well, both won brownlows and contributed to that unrivalled dynasty. Jack Regan, Des Tuddenham, Murray Weideman also worth a mention. John Greening would have been the greatest of them all
Its a hard call to say pedulbury the best ever in 120 years, he wasnt really the most skillfull player but his consistency, record of number of games played , couple of premierships His captaincy record, he has to be up there as the complete package Theres been so many talented collingwood players, coventrys,Todd, mchale, peter Dacois, mckenna, thompson, wayne richardson, buckley, gavin brown, bob rose, swanny Phil carman was best player in the competion when he was at collingwood Hope scotty goes past 400 You never know the records with in reach of 432
No problem with your thoughts, except the bit about “he wasn’t really the most skilful player”. Seriously? Has oozed class and control from day dot. Clutch kick, negotiating traffic, was a ball magnet early days. He’s one of the best I’ve seen ball in hand.
I do not believe in "The Greatest Ever". It is an insult to any team, be it footy or ping-pong doubles, to pick out someone and call them the greatest ever. Scott Pendlebury is a fantastic player and will go down in the History books of the AFL as an exceptional man, on and off the field, and a worthy a champion of the game; but where would he, or any champion be, without the rest of the team?
Millanes Brother Sean, used to coach the league side of a Kalgoorlie-Boulder team, Mines rovers(The Diorites) took them to a couple of flags... Great man on and off the field...
As long as he doesn’t get injured he will get 400 by round 17-18 this year. And if everything goes perfect and he plays next year aswell he can break the 432 record next year. He is still absolutely elite and as long as his heart and head wants to keep going he can keep playing as long as he wants too

Only knock could be no brownlow, but his consistency has been unreal. Either him or Bucks for me
I love Pendlebury. He has just been the rock of the club
Correction: "Sir Douglas Barwick"
If he wins one more premiership ill say yes straight away but they may ot may not happen. Right now gorden coventry has to be number one
My Pies top 5 ..1 Buckley 2. Daicos 3. Thompsom 4 . McKenna 5 . T Shaw.
Shaw wouldn't make to 20😅

I’d say one of the Coventrys but Pendlebury is up there
Miss watching neon Leon and Didak around that forward line

At his peak no where near what Gary jr could do.

gordon coventry?????
Hard to include people from that long ago because nobody alive saw them play, though would probably still belong on the list

I’m not a Collingwood supporter, but Swan was so dominant in his prime.
Barwick kicked 2nd last goal of game not last monkhurst kicked last
Most marketable player at present to sell merch to Collingwood supporters. LOL

Jamie Elliot and Bobby Hill are the greatest

Pendles wasn't the most dominant at his peak. Swan and Buckley were better in the modern era so idk if you can call him the goat magpie
Yes - 100 %
Buckley is clear 1 still - then Pendlebury
Peter daicos better than both
that ball didn’t even look close to being out.
It was in the 7th row !
Nick Daicos is the Lewis Hamilton of AFL, their early careers have mapped out in a similar way
You do know that means he eventually leaves Collingwood to join whatever the footy equalivalent of Mercedes will become 5 years from now.
