Both are cool, take thy pick. By an Aussie icon, or a precision instrument from the land of the rising sun. Good stuff two ways.
GS F is more daily and family friendly. Both great cars. :-) Got the GS...
both are just neck to neck! cost around the same and both looks and sound amazing! would love to own both!
Sombody You Dont Know
Umm, nowhere near same price, check rrp
Lexus efficiency in power is no doubt better. The HSV is better value for performance but the Lexus IS an overall better car.
That lexus sounds incredible
The Holden sounded better
Hectic mods ! Try the AMG sound
FellowGaming
try Lexus LFA, best sounding road car. pure V10 screamin' like an F1 moite.
Yeah but thats a V10 were talking about the V8s
the naturally aspirated C63 (the one with the 6.2L in it) is still the best sounding car I've ever heard
The HSV wasnt that much quicker than the lexus despite having all that extra power and torque which was disappointing.
That 6.2L always sounds good though.
That's manual thats why
That Toyata packs a punch
I think lexus looks much more well built and luxurious inside
Surprisingly the Lexus sounds better .
5.0 N/A 351kw. Thats insane and more power than LS3 6.2L 340kw HSV R8 (gen-f)
They compared a 2017 (410kw 6.2L LSA) Clubsport to the Toyota with fancy badging (a.k.a Lexus), which is almost half the price of it.
Your point?
Alas, Holden is no more now, so anything from an LSA Clubsport R8 and up is going to be a collectors item, provided you keep the k's down....
It's a heartbreaking letdown to see HSV and Holden with the SSV Redline Series II (which I've got) get to this point and have it all fall apart. Same way Guns 'n' Roses broke my heart, we'll now never see the evolution of the W1, or how a change of chassis and engine would have improved the Clubby, GTS or GTSR....
End of an era.
R.I.P Commodore 🇦🇺
Where would it all have ended up?
Blame labor government for that look up the lima agreement which was signed on the day I was born and was the most treasonous thing anyone has ever done in this country
Lexus interior but an LS engine is definitely a champion it would be nice to combined the two so that you have the best of both worlds
Haha gotta love it when Holden can even prove that their manuals can beat an automatic
i'd consider it pathetic if it didn't, having 49 more kw, 161 more nm, 1.2 litres bigger and a supercharger, the fact it's that close i'd say the lexus did better
J Ludo auto vs auto and the HSV would flog the Lexus even MORE
AMG GLE 63 S Oh fuck yeah of course, as we can see even the manual is very fast the auto instantly shifting would be pretty quick
J Ludo yeah, Lexus: leave the big RWD V8 sedans to the Aussies.
AMG GLE 63 S well Ford Australia has shut up shop and Holden will by the end of this year so there goes that, the Charger Hellcat is probably the fastest V8 sedan there is that I can think of right now
impressive how the hsv beats it on braking, Its doesn't even have the top end brakes as seen on the GTS.
@4000rpm lexus sounds amazing
I never see the other car before, who makes it???
whats with the engine light on in the HSV... lol
82muli a check engine light comes standard on any GM/Holden product.
82muli
It kind of looks like it might be the light angle??, have a look at startup
Nope its an engine light, as albert7139 said its comes standard with every Holden product :)
I can't decide which one sounds better 😍
0-100 in 4.8 isnt impressive given its a 6.2 Litre supercharged motor that has been given so much hype. You can get a 4 cylinder doing that. I know its a heavy car but still, a motor that size and supercharged youd expect better.
Manual rwd with that much power is a handful especially on some standard street tyres
Sooooo the HSV looks better, goes better, brakes better, handles better, sounds better and costs $70,000 less and has far better resale... why would anyone buy the lexus ahahahah.
LSA711 i want a reliable car, so ill take the lexus home
FX dude you cant get a motor anymore reliable than an ls3
The Lexus GS-F starts at $80k and tops out around $86k. Where are you getting $150k? Also, GM vehicles never hold their value. Lexus has a much better resale value, as they should, since they’re proven to be reliable and have much better build-quality. GM is a joke. This Holden and the Chevy SS variant are both hideous to look at. Just rebadged Malibu’s. That’s all GM knows how to do is rebadge everything.
@@HPM2024 hideous? Bro 😐. Are you on ice or should you go to specsavers? Dumb fuck
Gsf is taxed $47,000 in Australia . $117,000aud + 10% = $130,000 + luxury car tax = $153,000aud + orc with 3% stamp duty = $164,000 aud
The GSF can hit 0-100 in 4.2 seconds and 12.6 on the 1/4.
Sounds nicer.
Looks better.
Interior is better.
xchasa1 in the video the gsf not even in sports+ and expert mod for the acceleration test, while the hsv had all the driver aids and tracktions off...
il go with the hsv . cheaper then the lexus besides fuel
hsv wins in sound
Love to see the persons face at a set of lights when the clubby rev's its engine and you in that other cafr, my friend used to put the car in Neutral and then stop at a set of light and then REV it up and it really scares the living daylights out of some people, lol :)
Lexus exhaust rear pipes look ridiculous in that form!!! HSV any day for me!!!
nice thanks guys!
Well done to HSV on creating another brilliant car.. it brakes better and goes better than a $150k + lexus! the only leg the lexus can stand on is the interior quality is slightly better... and so it should be for another $80k!!
check engine light came on in the clubby??
xr6t gtx Welcome to VF reliability, if it's not the check engine, it'll be the blind spot monitor's that throw a warning or an airbag warning light, or a rough idle (at least in the 3.6)
that lexass is way better appointed and all those extras for the back seat passengers, yet most of the cars on the road are either single men over the age of 25 to 35 or couples full stop, the back seat extras will probably never get used, on the other hand the clubby, you will see a family with kids sitting in the back seat ?
Hard to Choose....🤔..or have Both of these Cars...😊 Is a better option...Lexus for Luxury... HSV Clubsport for Grunt...
N/a 5.0 vs S/c 6.2 seems legit. Also 20g more expensive to buy the LSA. Pretty matched cars for street. Weird comparison unless you like putting shit on LS and holdens.
Love my GSf
Ahh, holden 'fans', make gtr fanboys look like harvard proffesors
Matt Angelo
Better than hating u uneducated fool
$150k vs $80k, and HSV gets this close, and beats it at most things, hmmmmm
ur uterus blame luxury car tax for that 😕
Tariffs 5% ' luxury car tax 33% adds $28000 to the price
HSV
Very good review.!! I reckon the Clubby wins every respective apart from the interior design. 6.2L engine sounds amazing !
These cars have different demographic. Difference between the HSV and the Lexus is HSV "I just want one", where as the LEXUS is "I just lease one" which one will have the most street cred in 5 years time after the next Lexus comes out? Also the HSV buyer will have more pasion for their car vs the LEXUS buyer.
anthony mills a tad bit presumptuous my friend. Have a good day.
Think whoever drove the gts drove it a bit shitter so it would probably do better
Lexus all the way!!!
I see you everywhere😂💪🏼
engine start sound on that Holden sounds like stupid lazy diesel engine 2:27 .. on other side that Lexus sounds great and elegant on startup or reving
u got that man lol
Idk about that lol the clubby sounds fat
that r8 can get 12.5 easily. 13.16 is a horrible time.
We've timed the manual GTS (430KW) in 12.5 seconds, but 13.1 was the quickest we could achieve in the Clubsport (around 6 attempts). Using launch control was slower (13.3). Hope this helps.
R8 LSA is 400kw/410kw and GTS is 430kw. Auto is faster.
but the damn ss 304kw gets 13.1 easily.
now i get it.. it's manual.. you need auto to get 12.5 and low 12s for gts
of course auto is faster :)
That crank from the lsa didn't sound the healthiest at all
that hsv is squirely
HSV THE BEST
60 extra KW in the HSV
They need a lot of power to move anywhere
Poor things
HSV is slightly heavier and uses a manual transmission, yet still records a better 0-100 and also stops better. Lexus is outclassed performance wise, only thing you could give it props on is it's interior.
having 49 more kw, 161 more nm, 1.2 litres bigger and a supercharger you'd expect it to outclass it
Cykoid Exactly... But I honestly thought that 8spd would of made the Lexus dance a bit more.
from what i have read its more for economy purposes, to be honest i really want to see the ford/gm 10 speed in a clubby or a gts to see how it would react
Cykoid Yea I'm pretty excited to see those results. I'm a manual fan, but I would of loved for HSV to sneak one of those auto's into the last GTS!
basically its a Pontiac g8
Except the engine, brakes, driver interface, body kit, differential and seats, which are basically not a g8
hsv8s Pontiac g8 with upgrades
G Rocket The Pontiac G8 is based off the VE Commodore which is the generation before the VF which this HSV is. So no it's not "basically" a G8.
First!! He didn't call it!!!
Holden GTS is the best sedan car in the world
FellowGaming I don't think so.
Oh, i think so. Yeah the C63 is good but the Holden GTS has got something to it that make it the best sedan
FellowGaming Here are all the sedans that are better than the HSV, Mercedes c63, e63, s63, s65, cls 63, BMW M5 and M6 Gran Coupé, Bentley Continental Flying Spur, Audi s4, s6, RS 7, Porsche Panamera Turbo and the Jaguar xe-s and the xf-r. These are just some of the cars that are Better than the HSV. Not that I hate the Holden, it's a pretty good car but I wouldn't call it the best. Oh and the Lexus GS F.
Yes, all these cars a pretty cool but I could argue over the Audi S4 and the jaguars.
Hsv all day baby
this fps is killing me
GM engines are so behind. The Lexus is getting 70kw per liter and the Holden's getting only 66kw per liter even with a supercharger. The Lexus engine with a supercharger should be able to make at least 450kw with no other mods. Also the Lexus is faster to 60km/h... supercharged vehicles are supposed to have more power-down low compared to a high-reving NA engine like the Lexus and it didn't look like the Lexus was launched from high revs either.
"GM Engines are so behind?" The LS engines are some of the strongest and easiest to maintain/modify. Why change a formula that has been working with moderate updates? While the displacement is larger than the Lexus, that is only one factor. If you want a smaller engine like the 5.0 thats ok. Some of us like our v8's big. In reality they aren't huge engines.
blkbeau There's nothing wrong with big size but the GM here is just not making the power that a modern engine can make as shown. So the extra 10Gs you spend supercharging it, etc. just it to make it acceptable, shouldn't be thought of as an advantage. How different are GM fans here to the people who spend too much money on what GM fans call "euro trash", etc. that don't deliver? Maybe if they made good power, the bolt-on aftermarket for GM wouldn't be this big. If Lexus/Toyota made crate motors, even GM cars would use those instead of GM engines and frankly, the cars would sell better globally too.
Gayan W
Japanese drifters have been using Ls crate engines for a while now because of torque and reliability, always found that even if they did use ohc, haters would still hate.
What goes wrong on an ls engine compared to an ohc??, and as any engineer will say, what takes less hours to strip and replace??

(Thought I'll say it again since this still stands)
Who cares if the performance is there. Honestly are you going to care that an engine isnt as technologically advanced when it is pushing this sort of power? If it was such a dinosaur the Lexus's more sophisiticated and advanced engine would have been able to close the gap. There are benefits to running a pushrod OHV design anyway. Not that you'd care to notice.
HSV mate ausssssssssiiiiiieeee Powa mate Lsa
Really, is that even a comparison?!!! .. who would take that shittly Lexus!!
I would take that HSV anyday anywhere over any car, anyone who tried it can say the same thing
4dshow
-_-
HaMaDa Abudiak fan boy .. you have no sense
basel pc Really!! .. who cares
Alex Stokes
Exactly
Besides, basically it's a Toyota, choosing a Toyota over an HSV, HELL NO, count me out!!
Alex Stokes since when does the Lexus have two more cylinders?
battle of the boats. 😏
