1.) Id say less than 1% of car owners in this class actually track their sedans. So for just day to day street hooning, it’s perfectly fine. 2.) Lexus reliability is better and worth way more than 100 more hp that you will only need .1% of the time you’re driving it This is the smartest choice in class for ownership in my opinion. - Coming from Lexus IS250 and Mercedes CLS63 owner.
Anson Chow Ikr. I cant wait to see the next generation GS F. Im assuming it will be a twin turbo v8. Knowing what the LS 500 and LC 500 look like now, the next gen GS F is gonna look soooo beautiful.
They are Fun to Drive, I was running 130 mph on my GSF at the Freeway, the more you Floor the Gas the more the Engine is Roaring, its like talking to you saying Drive me Fast I want more!! I have to Slow down because I don't wanna get a Speeding Ticket (Grin)
Being that I'm a former Lexus owner, '02 GS430 that I modded a touch, I think this car comes with the quality of Lexus/Toyota. The reliability is far superior than it's competitors...
I fell out in utter laughter when the car reviewer provides his own rendition of what a vtec or in this particular case vvti intake change over 😆 🤣😂. I absolutely adore your antics. Quite animated in an effortlessly comical yet very informative and well-spoken type of way you are ( In my Yoda voice which is crappy if I can be honest, but you get it #Starwars ). Btw this is my next car!
I just feel like there was so much more effort put into this car. It just looks like it was handcrafted. When I think about like the A5/A6 I feel like they're nice but... just another audi. That's just my opinion, purely subjective of course.
Hmm...Win racing stoplight to stoplight and breakdown a few times a year during your brief ownership before it permanently dies, or get to that stoplight one second later and only pay for oil changes and tires for the next 30 years. 🤔
All cars are a compromise in one way or another. You compromise dependability with Mercedes, BMW, or Cadillac. If you want excitement and comfort in a car you actually drive on a regular basis, this is the only choice. Bulletproof reliability......
Lose at a race track? I'd like to see how much better most super sedans are in the hands of average drivers. Not everyone is a track junkie and most of these folks punch it straight line but can't corner to save their lives. I used to think cornering a motorcycle was the only thing that required skill but apparently most folks can't pick a line and corner a car to save their lives. Calling it a compromise car is a bit of a stretch considering reliability isn't cheap or free for that matter. The cost of sitting at a dealership and waiting for my car to be functional again is too high for most folks. I'd rather pay extra for reliability and consistency.
@@dobr4986 Read the comment again moron. I critiqued the reviewer for calling the car slower at the track and calling the car a compromise since reliability is not cheap to engineer.
Agree on the price being too high new, so I just bought a low mileage certified GS F for a LOT less coin. I love it ! Best car I have ever owned, and I have had Mercedes and Audis.
This car would Outlast all the cars just mentioned and in 10 years time will be worth more Lexus hold its value pretty good I've had to Lexus already both GS models both V8 and never had a single issue just routine maintenance they will last forever
So basically this car is perfect and the best of both worlds performance and the only issue is the price. I wouldn't bring this car down a class because it still performs better then the non M and non AMG cars. Once Lexus drops the new high performance engine in it will go toe to toe with the competition. It only lags behind the competition in power and for a first model its very good because its the first GSF theres no past model to build off. One thing for sure is this is the most reliable performance sedan and best sounding one too. Also that interior and those seats are beautiful
I’m curious why everyone continues to compare this car that’s not in the same class. Even Lexus has said it’s competition is the bmw M550. The AMG and M5 cost significantly more and you get the power to go with it. Against its class this car is far above.
This guy totally miss it and should not be an auto writer. This lexus GS F is the last great NA V8. Other guys take the easy or non reliable route and go Turbo on their engine.. Lexus goes nah, we want reliability and we want responsiveness, that only a NA V8 can do. Get real, no one buy these kinds of cars to race Red Light or go tracking. Seriously
Should you be compromising on a 90K car? Yes. Because it's not a 250K car, that's why. The notion that other cars do it better in their respective categories whether, sport or luxury, is a fine one. But that narrative falls apart when you observe what is going on in the automotive industry. Compromise. They all compromise. The problem people have is that it's not fast enough for what it is. I think Toyota fucked up by building the GS F when IMO they should have built a new IS F. More dynamic and lighter chassis, shorter wheelbase, and a compelling choice for a market flooded with M3 copycats. The new IS F would have had a starting price of $60,000 and marketing campaign would have focused on the fire breathing NA V8. Zero to sixty in 4.2 seconds and Lexus refinement/reliability. While it wouldn't have received any medals for beating the M3, it would be selling much better than this GS F. Probably more fun to drive as well.
I think the GS F takes the m550i, amg e43, cts v sport, s6 recipe and makes it so much better. Take a fully loaded model of any of those four and it'll match up price wise. The GS F comes fully loaded. If you want a truly M5 and 63 S fighter, wait for the new 4.0TT V8. Either way I'm so happy Lexus is expanding the F line up.
that car is great they need it in AWD .the Toyota Aristo is meant to be tuned . unleash that car full potential and it's smoking all those cars on that list
I love this car over any of its competition but seriously it's not worth 83k considering for that much money you can buy a much better car from another brand. I think the only changes Lexus really needs to be on top of its competitors would be to give the N/A V8 some more power and a lower price and if anything keep the price tag the same but i expect at least 700+ hp for a price like that. Other than that the car is beautiful.
jason jordan lexus priced them high at first and many people didn't buy them. Now price is going down and no one I've seen who bought one, has bought it for initial msrp. They hear the msrp in the videos and start talking all types of disbelief. Like you said, the lightly used ones are a significant value compared to the brand new ones. And even brand new ones can be negotiated down since they aren't selling fast.
Yea it's about 240 new ones left out there that are 2016! You can probably steal one used for 60 to 62 K. With super low miles. Still alot but Lexus really don't break that often. I own 2 never a motor issue!
The electronically controlled torque vectoring differential (or TVD) is the best thing about this car, to be realistic, its engine is an updated version of the last gen IS F, so, instead of a new IS F model, we get the GS F, remember Lexus used to have the GS 460 (V8 with less power), but the biggest problem with this car is its price, seriously, for that kind of money the CTS Vseries hands down, if you want the Lexus by all means buy it, just never try the new gen CTS Vseries or others at the light or anywhere, both are great cars, it’s just that the CTS Vseries really competes with the likes of cars like the BMW M5, it’s like comparing the Cadillac CTS Vsport to a BMW M5, the GS F competes with cars like the 5 Series M550i, CTS Vsport and E-Class AMG E43, , h___ you could probably throw in any naturally aspirated rwd V8 sedan like Chevy SS, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300C, Hyundai Genesis or others

Was deciding between this and the cls63.
I'll take this over other option from GM/BMW/Benz just for the sound of this NA V8 and of cause Toyota's bullet proof reliability and resale value.
Anson Chow Ikr. I cant wait to see the next generation GS F. Im assuming it will be a twin turbo v8. Knowing what the LS 500 and LC 500 look like now, the next gen GS F is gonna look soooo beautiful.
Yes bro all d others do is put 600 hp in it and it brakes dwn so fast.cost u more that ur ex wifes
Lexus = easy to maintain
Lexus=Geriatrics

after 20 years of AUDI i switched to Lexus with a RX450h and never lookes back since. greetings from germany where Lexus´s are exotics .
Best thorough review I've seen on this great car! Thank You! 🤙🏼

Hey bro, you've lost some weight, congratulations!
I'd love to see some tuner shop add a supercharger.

Down Side about that Car they don't provide you a spare tire on that Car
That noise it makes is half of my life, but the other half is that nobody can pass me on the stop light. Sadly goodbye
What town is that?
This was filmed right in front of my house in San Pedro, California, at the marina.
They call him MR. Hooniverse \ who-kni-vur-s \
4 door ugh
you realize there's an rc f right?
Front = Ghastly
90k for this I pass ....too much money for this outdated design ...
What's outdated for you?
it doesn't match with other car same year. Design is still dull and same old plane Lexus, only front grill looks ok.
channelnicky same with BMW.
exactly, at least lexus updates their interior (and exterior). meanwhile bmw interior might change every like 8 years
I rather buy a use Audi A8L V8!
Daryll Jackson good luck maintaining it.
Hmm...Win racing stoplight to stoplight and breakdown a few times a year during your brief ownership before it permanently dies, or get to that stoplight one second later and only pay for oil changes and tires for the next 30 years. 🤔
looks and sounds amazing, well done Lexus.

This is the stupidest comment I’ve ever heard, Lexus reliability out classes BMW, Mercedes, Catty, etc. by a long run
@@dobr4986 Read the comment again moron. I critiqued the reviewer for calling the car slower at the track and calling the car a compromise since reliability is not cheap to engineer.
not as fast? that doesn't matter to me at all. but the price..
Jamaican Me Crazy used one is around 50k-60k now
460hp.wat wud i do with more than dat.toyota lexus king.toyota over all a legend.best brand last a life time.best resale value on earth
Agree on the price being too high new, so I just bought a low mileage certified GS F for a LOT less coin.
I love it ! Best car I have ever owned, and I have had Mercedes and Audis.
if one does their homework and is willing to travel s/he can find these at around $65k with under 10k miles. At that price they make much more sense.
wokeupinhongkong In your Dream
39 grand on autotrader now lol

Speed limits are 65-70mph around here anyway.
dchawk81 Move to Texas, we have 80 mph speed limits around Austin, San Antonio and further west.
Lexus all day long

I love it.. just a lil more speed.. 5.0 FI
Great review! They’re $45-50k slightly used! That oughta make things sound a bit better!
Wooo to an AHHHHHH!!!

Lol find me one person who looks underneath the rear bumper at the exhaust piping 😂
great review as always man. i love the GS... but it doesn't feel special anymore, like the ones from the early 2000's.
This car is underrated.

You can this for around 80 loaded
Way overpriced..
Had my GS F for 6 months love it!!!!!!!
hey there, is the mileage horrible even if you go easy? I know, I know, "if you've got to ask..."
rather spend 70k on the Audi A7
I can get a fully equipped Tundra and Avalon for $90k.
I like your thinking!
You can get one for 60K used with 5000 miles or less great buy! Slot of uses ones out there don't buy one new!
jason jordan lexus priced them high at first and many people didn't buy them. Now price is going down and no one I've seen who bought one, has bought it for initial msrp. I don't believe tundra and Avalon will even reach anywhere close to $90k.

Sorry buddy, that back leg room is too small
Way too sedate in white.
