I know right, I just installed mine yesterday and was wondering where the heck did the little 2 shims went. Finally found this video and glad to see it was where I thought it might go. Other videos I watched just completely omitted the shim.
I have to say I just spent the last several hours looking at all 60+ videos of daemon/demon. I've learned a lot today. I love the fact that you actually use the car and not let it sit. I mean that thing took a beating(4 rear camberlinks/rods).several bodies and chasis I mean it was great. good job! looking at daemos now cause it's my color scheme lol
Awesome rustler! I still refer your mini revo vids to help do repairs on mine. You have the best tutorials for taking them apart. How do the anacondas handle on pavement? I really like them but have heard mixxed reviews on their gripping ability. Thanks!
i broke my slash 4x4 for the first time in 2 years yesterday, i drove it full throttle into a trash can lol one of my rear driveshafts snapped right off
I am so happy to see demon he looks great 👍 I have the buy me one of these ps u should do a review after driving to show how much better it is. Keep up the great work!
I’ve got 95% if the same exact parts in/on my slash, and I’ve spend over 750$ on it, and people are only willing to give me 200-300 for it 😭. I won’t sell it though.
Yeah got me the slash 4x4 and my heavily custom slash 2wd I got over $1,000 into it and even considered selling it, I'm just going to keep it even if it sits more than its ran, no one will ever give me anything close to what I have in parts in it.

Will that sealed diff work on a nitro rustler? Or is it just for the electric version. Awesome video, and great breakdown of the teardown, and reassembly.
Jason, I think everyone misses your RC videos a lot. I thinkn everyone misses Kojot too. I know you do too. I want you to try and bring Kojot back. Simply send him an email or something asking how he is. Do not talk too him about RC for now. just ask him how he has been and get back in contact with him. Everyone would love to have Kojot back.

do you need all these upgrades, i have a xl-5 and i am planning to go brushless soon. what system do you recomend. i am thinking the castle sidewinder sv3 waterproof
I wound up with an extra thrust bushing for the solar gear shaft. Did you use only one or two bushings? I saw in the video you called out one, so I assume you just used one.
its sealed so you can use diff fluid if you used it stock the fluid would leak out if you put thick diff fluid in it will work like a limited slip and will get better traction offroad

Another up grade you could get is the rpm blue gear cover. Not really a upgrade but was just thinking of it for looks.

You should have put ceramic bearings in the transmission while you had it apart.

Electric only unless you know how to mod your nitro
if anybody is having problems with the hot racing diff use a dremel and bevel the edges of the planetary just slightly to give them enough clearance
Beautiful Rustler!, But with all that those great RPM upgrades why do you still have the Stock Traxxas gear cover and not the RPM one?
Because the stock cover gives 10 more mph
The hot racing gear diff housing works the best in the stock housing.

My bearings don’t fit my hot racing idle gear...what bearings do I need?
I tried to put the hot racing diff in an rpm gearbox just like you but I’m having trouble closing the gearbox together, how did you do it?

A bearing goes on each end of all 3 shafts in the gearbox

Yeah, mine has leaked since day one. Don't know what to do because it makes a mess on my output shaft and axles.
