The steering feel can be remedied quite a bit by coding in the steering "tune" from the CS. It is VASTLY improved. The standard comp steering has an artificial "stickiness" to it that makes it seem very artificial. The CS steering removes this and it feels much more natural. Also, I agree about the RWD. The only reason to get the RWD auto is if you actually enjoy breaking the rear end loose just to feel that feeling. Otherwise, the xDrive hooks so much better and, honestly, also allows some rear sideways action even in normal mode. You don't' even have to put it in 4WD sport or MDM to get the rear end to move around.
My guy had fun with the intro 🤣🤣 It went on slightly too long to be comfortable and I was genuinely starting to think holy shit did I miss something about your channel growth. Great video!I don't think I ever really hated how these looked so this still looks sick. Their grills seemed to make sense compared to the iX or the i7.
I traded my 2023 M3cx for an 2025 M4cs, I'm not modding it at all, 100% stock just so I can be different lol, a stock M4 maxed out from the factory. BMW perfected this GX generation.
From day 1 I liked the grill. I knew people would come around..I call those people the followers. They have always been there just a few steps behind the leaders and trend setters like yourself. Killer CAR MAN!
You need more subscribers, I always enjoy watching your videos. It’s like watching an old Donut or Thatdudeinblue episode, it’s always just good, natural fun
I think you bring up some interesting points about RWD vs AWD. I’ve always been an RWD guy, I just prefer the driving dynamics of it. While the Xdrive does have a RWD option, it doesn’t have memory. So when you restart the car it defaults back to AWD. Also, 100lbs is significant. You are paying a lot to get 240lbs of weight savings when you buy an M4 CSL. In addition AWD adds complexity and extra drivetrain losses reduce fuel economy.
This Gen is very popular to Mod and Tune. The extra carbon additions can make this car break necks and a few performance upgrades your getting 100 extra horse's, madness...now we have more people running a big single turbo..YES we love this G8x platform...pure❤❤ ❤😅😅
If I was not a die hard manual guy, I can see getting the AWD comp. But I think I we to give up the manual, I would just get a M340 and spend the savings on an actual sports car to do with it. Loved the opening, although I still thought you actually bought this until I heard the end. I'll have to see which gen M3 you currently have.
lol this is why we can’t order RWD Comps in Canada hehe. I’ve done launch control in my LCI Comp 7 or 8 times (with vbox) and it’s never been above 3 seconds, and it’s never not worked haha. You do have to absolutely floor the brake to get it to trigger but it’s never let me down! I’ve got the normal comfort seats too, PS4S tires. Best time 2.79, worst time around 2.9. And none of that 1 foot rollout stuff. I’ve done one runway event and probably launched it 20 times without a single hiccup!
Yeah agreed with the first point but second is just adding an extra advantage just because you like RWD, let’s be honest the maintenance isn’t that much of a problem
I prefer my RWD M340 for the steering weighting over the non-M xDrive (which feels floaty and numb on-center). Doesn’t pull through corners as fast but much more tossable
Bro cool video but you totally messed up the launch control part and that’s on you. Launch control in BMW is just as easy in any other manufacturer. I have a M3 LCI too and it works everytime.
I predicted back in 2021 that the opinion on G8x would suddenly be more favorable when used prices drop. Back then the F8x were the best M cars ever, funny how that changes
Many F8x drivers who made the upgrade ended up selling their cars..the zf8 is predictable and the feeling of the car gets boring quickly. It's a fast fast car no doubt..but rawness is everything..its still a great car no doubt. I'm buying it for a flex.
Dude for launch control u can program it to ur steering wheel with either the m1 or m2 button.. its really not that hard once u own the car and do that. Also was the car broken in past 2000 miles? This one should be doing a sub 3 second 0-60 easy af. The pre lci did that.
@@CarswithMilesonce u do that u must press m1 and then mash the brake all the way down and then the pedal till u feel a click. Was the car broken in fully? I think it has to be past 1500 or 2000 miles to get max perfromance. Pretty sure launch control doesn't even work if it isn't.
@@CarswithMilesoh I didn't know this was the RWD model. Now I see why u were saying that. I had no clue they still offer the RWD variant of the competition for the LCI. I thought they were all XDrive. 😂 but yea porsches u don't even have to program a certain button u just but it in the right mode and go so I see what ur saying. It does suck that it has to occupy either ur m1 or m2 button to be able to do it on the fly.
@@CarswithMilesyea that makes sense now I thought it was an xDrive. Yea getting the RWD with no manual is pointless and if u look online they go for up to 20k more if it's an Xdrive. So def worth paying 5k extra when ordering one.
I want to like the G80s but I totally agree with you, they’re a bit soulless. And I think a bit too stiff as a daily. Would be curious to get your thoughts on the Giulia QV. I’ve got a ‘24 with the mechanical LSD and it’s fantastic. Always fun, always engaging and Alfa also managed to make it a much better daily with a supple ride in its softest mode. I personally think it’s a superior car in every metric outside of tech and interior. My town gets 130” of snow annually and I don’t have any problems with the RWD. Alpin PA4s do the trick.
What makes it soulless? Disclaimer, I own a '24 G80 Competition. My previous car was a 997 Turbo S. I just don't get this take, why does it give you those vibes?
I know someone that had a Giulia QV and they said the exact same thing. The Giulia had more soul because he had to replace half the vehicle after it broke down with 16k miles.

For the launch control, I know on the F8X platform there’s sort of a cooldown period that you have to wait through to use the launch control again. I’m not sure why they implemented that on the G8X platform because I’m sure that ZF8 speed could take that abuse all day.
Waiting for my 2025 m3. I didn’t op for the carbon ceramics because if I really want to track the car I will just upgrade my brake pads and rotors and out perform those ceramics which are amazing.

@ glad to hear it! I think part of the reason for what you observed is simply that an entirely different group of people are buying the m3 for different reasons now. I don’t think necessarily everyone that hated it now loves it. It just found a new…less traditional bmw audience.
I also have no idea what you are on about with the launch control it's pretty easy to do. You press the drifting car with skidding button turn of DSC then press the brake pedal hard then gas hard then you see on the screen launch control ready and you let it rip.
That’s supposed to be the case but often times launch control simply doesn’t register in the new BMWs, it’s very gimmicky. There’s no real explanation that I have found either to be the cause. I have tried different methods of getting the car to the preferred temperature, different days, etc. all the same results of its very inconsistent to activate. Good when it works, hardly works on command.
What’s there point of getting this in auto? You lose the experience of actually enjoying or driving this car with auto. Manual is the only reason I bought my g80 m3 and I live in northern state. Not my primary vehicle though.
I test a new performance car every week. BMW just has an unnecessarily complicated and inconsistent launch control protocol. Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, Bentley, Lucid, Ferrari, McLaren, Cadillac, Chevy are all far simpler and better to use. But if you've driven more cars to compare let me know.
