I traded in my 2021 Camaro SS 1LE back in 2022 which I used for spirited mountain drives in NC and some track use and I loved that car dearly. When I went searching for a new car there was literally nothing out there dealerships sold most of all there inventory but stumbled upon a BMW dealership that had 1 New 2022 M440i Rwd left in stock. I immediately purchased it and it was a great cruiser but like most car guys it felt like it had more left In it. I upgraded to the Burger Motosports intakes, Active Autowerks catted Downpipe and the BMW performance exhaust. I also added Apex Forged wheels wider tires and Dinan Rear toe links plus Dinan Monoball ball joints. I added the Carbahn piggy back and the car was transformed into a cannon carving machine with more power than you can use safely on the back roads. One of the most fun sounding and driving cars I’ve ever owned. The B58 is a monster the sticker was $65k and after adding $7k it ran door to door with stock or lightly modified S58’s definitely a better choice over the M4 in my opinion. Plus the hybrid gas mileage is ridiculously good.
I have a 2021 M440i with some work done, I get compliments on it on a regular basis here in Vegas. Next up, bigger turbo and flash tune for some extra giddy up.
@@BrosFOURRSpeedyeah here in CA (LA) 95% of dealers won’t let you build a spec and the ones they have in the showroom or at the dealers are optioned like crazy….
@@LittyJonez that’s crazy! Just another reason why CA is going downhill. We can custom order any BMW with more options then even the website shows from our dealers.
The reason why the m440i doesnt have the drive side storage compartment is due to cost cutting. My 21 model year had it. You can only get it in the US if you go through their individual program and select full merino leather
People are constantly asking us how these compare. Lots of M4 buyers aren't sure if they really need to spend the money on the M4 and if they can get just as much fun in the M440. So the M440 buyers aren't exactly cross shopping. But the M4 buyers seem to be. I'd go M4 because I like the power. But lots just don't need all the performance
@@viraLDC5 The hips (part above the rear wheels) of the M440i are boring. There's something missing. The M4 is a bit wider and looks more agressive. Also, the exhaust pipes of the M4 look waaay better. Concerning the interior, the M440i doesn't even have a real shifter, just a button. Lame.
3800lbs for both? Lol no. 4000lbs. 3800lbs is the m240i. They are all fat pigs. Also lol at 4.6 0-60 for the m440i. Its with that I know you have no idea what you are talking about. m440i is probably 4 seconds flat or lower with x-drive,
I got my numbers straight from BMW website, so…look at that before you say I don’t know anything.. And curb weights are correct..please research before you call me out, they are correct numbers..
@@Unicornpirate using the specs from BMW’s website is the best way to be consistent. Did you want me to bring a scale and weigh each car or use a tape measure to measure the dimensions? He is right, the curb weights are closer to the 4,000 lbs mark. As cars come with all fluids in order to oper at e properly. I have a friend with the 440 and his weighed 3,980 with all fluids as made for the roads. If anyone wants to be sure, either look at Motor Trend or Car and Driver for those cars “as tested” weight and performance, and you’ll get they are not ,3,800 pounds vehicles. The better "M" car is the real M car. What kind of dumb title is that? Also I guarantee you no one is cross shopping these two. There is a 20k price difference between them. You aren't getting any M4 for 79k anywhere in the USA. They are all fully loaded with options starting at 90k plus brand new at stealerships. Also they are both ugly in the front. The only way to make a M4 look good is you must get an aftermarket front bumper from Adro. The m440i will be hideous all its life.
Definitely disagree, you can absolutely buy an M3 for less than $90K…every buyer is not specing it to the max. Where’d you come up with that? But someone might want the M4 and can’t afford that, so the 440 is a good step below until they need to or want to step up.

Glad you like them! We have quite a few coming!

Sweet!!
M4 comp FTW.
Yeah it's a beast! Worth the upgrade for sure!
I’d say the one that’s really an M car 😅
Yeah the M4 is a great car!

WHAT!? Here in LA the 2025 M4 comp is priced about 90k and up to $103k (fully optioned) and the M440i $70k up to $78k .
Interesting. The M4 starts at $76k on BMW USA website. Go up from there to about $110k

I never even considered the baby "M" or cross shopped it when I got my M4. You can afford an M4, or you can't. Both fine cars in their price range.
People are constantly asking us how these compare. Lots of M4 buyers aren't sure if they really need to spend the money on the M4 and if they can get just as much fun in the M440. M4 looks way better, especially the front end, and the M440i is overpriced for an M lite lol
I do agree. Looks super cool! M440 is still sporty but for sure looks like the baby version
u mean the m440i looks better than the m4.. look at the front,,, for sum reason m440i looks way more aggresive than the m4.. which is wierd to me
It’s definitely overpriced indeed. Lci look nice though ngl

I only see one M car 👀
Yea, I put "M" in quotes for a reason, still a great car and an option people will look at.
M4 while the better car overall, rides like a tank
It's definitely a stiffer ride. Super good performance car tho!
Never clicked on a link so fast 😅
Great cars to check out!
Totally different cars. A non M car is not in the same universe as a full M car
They are, I never said they were the same. But they are both 4 series and something people would cross shop.
The difference is one is Nuremberg GT race car, the other is not. But, the 440.is no joke either.
Bro has no idea what those cars cost when optioned
How so? Just because I mentioned the starting MSRP? Doesn’t mean I don’t know the cost fully loaded..makes no sense..
174 top speed for the m4? Dang looks like there really cutting down on speed limiters these days
Not like anyone or most buyers need that to be increased though.
I thought it was 188 with the m drivers package?
@@everydaygrower2720 yea looks like it’s that. But again, doesn’t really matter for 99% of drivers.
not exactly sure if this is a serious video lol
How so? Comparing two 4 series and coupes that someone might be cross shopping.
M440 is not an M car…
That’s why “M” is in quotes. It still has some M performance and is a nice option if you don’t want the next level M4..
