@@presidentduterte1618 The rule of 2 meant that the Apprentice would one day surpass their master, killing them. The now Master Sith would then get an apprentice that had even more potential, basically making the Sith more powerful with every generation of master and apprentice. Sidious knew that one day, (an uninjured) Darth Vader would grow more powerful than him and he'd already resigned himself to his fate.
No I believe the high ground saved anakin because once he burned it increased his anger and his dark side power. Darth Vader almost become what anakin could have been
Anakin's greatest weakness was his pride, it's what lead to his defeat on Mustafar, after his very humbling defeat, and the death of his wife, Vader lost that pride he had, what made him powerful as Darth Vader was his hatred for himself, a Sith's power comes form their passionate emotions their fear, anger, and hatred. His increase in power before and during his fight with Obi-Wan when he executed the Jedi and younglings in the Temple, and the Separatist leaders was due to his fear of loosing Padme, after his wife's death believing himself responsible that fear turned into hatred aimed at himself. In one comic Vader fights against an apparition of Darth Maul, with Maul asking what could you hate to make you this powerful, which Vader replies. "Myself.:
Anakin did actually reach his full potential on Mortis when he tapped into the Force and actually brought The Son and The Daughter(the incarnations of the Dark and Light Sides of the Force)to their knees.
Man, can you imagine the overkill and crazy power level of Pre-Vader Anakin though?! Star Wars wouldn't even be Star Wars. It'd be the Slaughter of Anakin Skywalker lol...
Alternatively, if he fully mastered the Dark side and didn't get injured, then Sidious' power would seem like a mere grain of sand compared to Anakin/Vader.
Darth Molalikith. But he could never Master Any side. He is very arrogant and dumb, he is NOT very wise. Stil Think yoda would beat him because he is much more wise👍
This video is kinda pointless...Lucas said it himself to that anakin had the highest potential of and force wielder...only to later be surpassed by Luke
definitely Vader. obi Wan proved that knowledge is power itself. having the will and discipline to push yourself to the limit makes you much more dangerous than someone who with potential, but overlooks opponents and the situation in front of them.
The Anakin/ Darth Vader paradox, when Anakin with his natural abilities lacked the knowledge and wisdom, and Vader, while accomplished in terms of force knowledge and wisdom, lacked the physical fitness of his past self- is a nice metaphor to the opposition of youth versus experience. When you're young you lack the experience to fully realize yourself because you don't know yourself so well. When you're old, you have the wisdom and so you would not lose time at the mistakes of youth, but you lack the physical abilities that could help fulfill your freedom.
It's actually the Jedi's fault. Because they mistrusted Anakin led him to trust Palpatine, the only one who seemed to be there for him. The Jedi should have adapted to Anakin, instead of just keeping him away at a great distance. True, Anakin was a bit of a douche, and he's my favourite character. But the Jedi (Mace, Yoda, Council) just tried to use Anakin, always using brashness as their tones of voices, instead of just treating him like an alien. That is the genius of his story. His first family passed too quickly for him to grasp (Shmi Skywalker), his second treated him like a monster (Jedi), his third only minorly veiled the fact that he held Anakin''s life in his hands (Sidious), but his last family (Luke Skywalker) gave him with love. And that is what makes up Anakin Skywalker, TheChosenOne (Me), perfectly.
Oh. I used to be a strong scavenger, who goes at at night alone since the age of 4. One who had great potential, now,I am 10. And a child who studies the ways of the Jedi, who acts like a Jedi, who is on the Friend Zone, who has a dark side, who is strong, intelligent, but emotional. Remember my past life,it was just like Rey's. I am good at dueling, very skilled,I was finding food for the poor, and I was poor too. And I did find food,me and my friends split around the city. I became popular around about 5 villages. The people admired me,just like Anakin was admired. Many people were grieving when I was going here to America, life is easier, but depressing. I only remember the good old days... Back home, but now,we must move on. I am a Jedi,a true Jedi who is force sensitive,a Jedi who has great knowledge, potential, skill, compassion, and most of all,me. Yes,me. So now,who is the chosen one,I helped a new kid from being bullied. I showed great potential, and this is the story,of the chosen one,me.
Fun Fact: The two most important decisions in Anakin's life were both made while Anakin watched someone he cared about being struck by lightning. The first: Mace Windu. The second: His own son. Fortunately he made the right decision the second time around and restored balance to the force.
Obi-Wan Kenobi played rope- a -dope, and and for anybody who does not know what rope- a- dope is, it is a strategy in boxing, where you lay on the rope letting a powerful opponent punch away at you, but it's a psychological strategy, because if the strong opponent does not feel like, he is breaking through, he easily gets frustrated and tires quickly, but you can also use that as an opportunity like Obi-Wan Kenobi did to find an opening, for which is what happened. Ali orchestrated this strategy beautifully against George Foreman.
The prince of Crime Some folks contend that the ropes were loose in that fight. While I am not convinced that was the case, it may have played a role in Ali's success.
+michael brand I don't think I've ever seen Rocky use the rope a dope strategy. I always saw him as a man with almost a superhuman force of will, working extremely hard before fights and taking severe punishment and not let it hamper his performance.
We learn thru mistakes - the bigger the mistake, the more opportunity to learn. Anakin made 2 astronomical mistakes that day loosing literally everything (Padme, and much of himself) but lived on to learn astronomically more than most ever do. These failures were key components to Darth Vader's eventual power
Only potentially, he never reached it, Vader was more powerful, experienced, and knowledgeable in every way. Anakin obviously could reach that potential, but never did.
+Gabriel Carrasco He never said pre suit Vader was more powerful, he said Post suit Vader was more powerful. That's why he put the quote, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." Hence, he believes Darth Vader is more powerful and skilled than Anakin, he never said vice versa.
Michael Foster Anakin was an immensely hard worker at form 5 and was said to be an absolute master of it. But he ignored he force abilities because he only ever used it as a blunt force and he was already naturally powerful at it. Anakin would have destroyed Vader in a straight up lightsaber duel, but Vader probably would have won force wise as sad as that is.
So in short, if Anakin had disciplined himself, you believe that he could have become the most powerful. Now here's a different question: how powerful could someone become if they managed to use both sides of the Force at once?
if you watch star wars the clone wars cartoon not the 2003 one but the more recent one there is an episode where anikan uses both the light and dark side of the force
ProMax T.V Revan isn't a good example... He was just Sith andd Jedi. He didn't just go full into the whole force being itself and not light or dark. A good example of would probably be the potential of a gray Jedi or Valkorian and his Empire (is that even canon or just fun video game lore?)
Anikan was mentally weak. To much emotion in a bad way. That's why obi one beat him. He is smarter then Anikan. It's like a really good sports player. But once they get rattled mentally, they start performing worse
See, THAT would make sense. As the Chosen One, Anakin was destined to destroy the Emperor, so if he could sneak back to him and bring Obi-Wan, possibly Yoda as well, they could totally beat the Emperor and Anakin could fulfill his destiny, though he or Yoda or Obi-Wan might still die in the battle or from their wounds after it. This would make sense and cripple any sequels. Buuuuuuut, it was a prequel, so they had to let it continue into the original trilogy through a totally different path. But the Jedi order would still be crippled and alot of Sith artifacts and influences would still be present and therefore the Sith might rise again, although the Jedi and Restored Republic could still beat them. Plus the Separatist remnants might endure or even survive and develop since the Restored Republic would actually be kind and sensible enough to offer peace, and wouldn't be as ruthless as the Empire in stamping them out.
Thanks! Not to mention that a few Seperatists might even support a few new Sith, or try to hoard Sith artifacts for study, because they remember how useful Dooku was, and need a counter to the Jedi.
TECHNICALLY, his destiny was to bring balance to the force. Which the Jedi thought destroying the darkness, but balance means weighing out the two, so he fulfilled his destiny with purging the Jedi, leaving only a few, so that the light and dark side were more balanced.. He also fulfilled his Destiny of balance, when saving his son, and killing the emperor, instead of letting the darkness be all consuming by letting his son die.
making a theory is not about saying _"it's definitely like this, everyone who disagrees shall go fuck themselves"_. No. It's rather _"With all these clues, think about it, is this legit?"_
This has to be your best video, yet. So sad to think of how close he was to his goal, only to have his own arrogance strip it away from his grasp. It also shows how, through Obi-wan, brains will always defeat brawn.
That what if exists in the revenge of the sith game. Anakin basically kills obi wan and then kills the emperor and becomes the emperor as what he told padme.
Jeff C he has over 20 000 in each cell, do you know how many cells the body has? He would still have waaaaay more total midi chlorians than anyone else
strange titel: "Could Anakin Really Have Become the Most Powerful" Of Course he could, George Lucas said it .! and even Darth Sidious admit that as well, but Anakin didn't live up to it, cause he lost so much of his power after losing both legs and arms., G.L. said Darth Vader was only 80% or 90% strong as Sidious.
Here's a question for you: if Aniken Skywalker was NOT dubbed The chosen one, and thus have that huge expectation immediately put on him at such a young age, do you think he would have reached his full potential and maybe not even go to the Dark side? The reason I ask is that I can't help but suspect that one of the things that drove him to the Dark side was that he had this huge expectation of prophecy put on him of being such a powerful being and yet was not able to save those he loved (his mother and his wife).
That is very interesting! I hope he makes a video about this :D In my opinion though, he'll probably turn to the dark side anyway. I mean, he was always the emotional kind, he didn't have a good grip/control over his emotions, that's what ultimately led to his turn and downfall.
His emotions had a part to play, but in my opinion the bigger factor was his pride. Anakin knew about his prophecy, and so viewed many Jedi as inferior. This was further fed by Palpatine constantly building up Anakin's ego. If Anakin was oblivious to his destiny, I believe there's a fair chance he wouldn't have been turned.
What I don't get is, why was he even aware of this? It's elementary child rearing knowledge that you should receive praise for effort, not for talent or achievement. And the Jedi who are concerned with remaining humble truly should know better than to tell Anakin that he's the Chosen One, it seems like bad writing to think the Jedi would reveal this to him.
perman07 considering we are talking about a order of celibate knights whose sole means of continuing their order is to get people to "willingly" surrender their infants and those infants are in turn trained to rid themselves of emotion and how to fight BEFORE a master takes them as their apprentice it's a fair bet that the Jedi didn't pass Parenting 101. Saying this in general as I've seen people say bad writing before: I know that the Star Wars movies aren't exactly on par with say LOTR or Christopher Nolan's Batman saga but the problem with saying bad writing if it then invites the viewer to nitpick a piece of fiction (sci-fi at that) and constantly compare it to today's reality, which if you do enough of that to any work you'll always find what your looking at wanting. Movies require you to suspend belief to a point, when you say bad writing you stop suspending belief.
Well, sure you have to suspend disbelief, but if you look at my favorite show The Wire for instance, most of it "feels" realistic outside season 5. It's really the job of the writers to not create too many situations that bring you out of that state involuntarily, not an easy job, but still something they need to somewhat accomplish if they want a work of fiction to become truly great.
I would like to say that anyone wondering what an unsuited Vader in a focused mindset would be like.....I think we caught a glimpse in 2nd Anakin vs Dooku fight. It was brief but (and I say this was the first of Vader we saw) Anakin once focused in Darkside rage owned Dooku's assssss , Dooku fought Yoda to a stalemate and Anakin disarmed him ...with ease.....Obi was never a match for Dooku at any time in the movies
+Caio Ramos ....hahaha I like that and like to agree. Sidious said it best...."Vader will become more powerful than either us" to Yoda so I think Anakin would do to the Yoda,Luke, Ben & Sidious what Sidious did too Seasinn ,Kit,Aegan & Windu lol
I think this video explains this 'what if?' concept quite well. When categorizing the Sith as masochists or sadists, one would naturally see them as sadists as they like to inflict pain and misery on others around them to out-compete them in a survival of the fittest kind of way. That being said, Rule of Two Sith were masochists in a way as the ultimate goal of the apprentice was to kill the master eventually and the master's ultimate goal is to find an apprentice worthy enough to eventually kill them and supplant them in virtually every way. Sidious was so furious and in a way distraught when Anakin was beaten on Mustafar, which he wouldn't have been had it been Maul or Dooku that received such crippling injuries. This was because Anakin lost that ability to surpass Sidious, and his ultimate goal wasn't for himself to become the ruler of the galaxy, but for the Sith to rule and eventually have a successor even more powerful and stronger than himself, which is what Anakin was inevitably going to do before Obi-wan shattered that dream. Well done The Stupendous Wave!
Sidious didn't want to be just another link in Bane's Rule Of Two. He desired to be the ultimate and final Sith, only taking apprentices as useful pawns and attack dogs. From Maul, to Dooku, to Vader, and intending to replace Vader with Luke. Part of me wonders if Sidious knew what would happen to Vader on Mustafar, and, fearing his power, desired Vader to be crippled and handicapped so he would be less likely to surpass him.
Febrian 007 he’s said one of the most not “the most” he was undoubtedly one of the most powerful with ever and had he not suffered his injuries and been trained fully by wideouts with an altered mentality he would have unquestionably become the most powerful force user that ever existed
Vader is the MOST powerful ever! midichlorian or not! No debate. Vader survived all, and cheated death(even burnt alive and chopped to pieces) and he even killed the Ruler of the Galaxy with malfunctioning life support whilst receiving massive deadly lightening blasts from Palpatine NO Jedi, NO Sith could have done that...only Vader, and with something stronger than the force, with his own Willpower. END OF STORY. ..and on that note: the death of Anakin/Vader was the End of Star Wars, officially quoted from George Lucas himself.
Deckard 5 Pegasus he isn’t the most powerful ever at all😂could he consume planets of the force create wormholes in space and destroy Jedi orders with force storms no he couldn’t
Bruh...you hit the nail on the head so many times and in so many ways. This is what makes me mad about people bashing Hayden and the prequels. I think he does an excellent job acting to Anakins attitude and recklessness and I think the story writing shows him wasting his potential perfectly. Of course you'll get the haters who can't see the Origin/ Passion/Fall progression of a textbook heroic tragedy that the prequels are but, meh, I take the intellectual high ground there ;).
"Just because someone ultimately has the ability to achieve something great, doesn't mean they will." WOW !!! O.O What a great and wise aphorism. Thanks, man.
But if you do have the ability to achieve something great and you believe in it and work at it you can achieve anything and will achieve it if you put your mind to it.
The Stupendous Wave, I just want to thank you for a truly surprisingly brilliant analysis of Anakin. This is actually the very best insight into his character I've ever heard anyone put forth. You are 100% correct, in every way, and I'm floored at your insight. If everyone heard your video, they would all have a much deeper understanding and love of star wars. Keep up the great work. I have only one small thing to add: Anakin DID become the most powerful jedi at the very end of his life, the moment he chose to kill Palpatine, thus freeing the Galaxy, destroying the Sith, and finding the ultimate triumph over even both his Anakin and Darth Vader selves, uniting them as one, pushing himself beyond even his need to continue to survive with Palpatine's power giving him strength. In this way, he finally did transcend, like Obi Wan, and become part of the Living Force. Anakin truly was the greatest and most powerful Force Being ever.
hard work is better than raw potential. i see myself as an example of this - i am highly intelligent (IQ above 150) yet i totally lack the patience, the drive and the ambition to do anything with it. i learn very very fast and easily but i could never stay focused long enough on one topic to become good at it. so i am a generalist knowing little about a lot but not knowing anything really. Many people say im naturally gifted and my grades and language skills proved that i could achieve much with my brains but i simply cant. I envy those people without a gift that actually have the determination and willpower to reach for something big. Because they will get there while i stay in the dark, wasting my potential. And i guess thats partially the doom of the gifted. if you are gifted everything comes to you easily, thus you never evolve the determination and patience needed to achieve something greater and once you reach a barrier that you cant overcome easily as you are used to...you give up.
I feel you man... i've lived through this for a long time. And I have been struggling with what you describe... but I'm forcing myself not to give up... because I believe that giving up without trying is worse than trying and failing
It's never too late to learn! Keep exploring ideas and activities until you find something that turns you on so much that it's worth developing the willpower and determination. In my experience, willpower and determination are muscles that can be trained. I too still struggle, but I am doing significantly better than I did a couple of years ago. So don't give up, keep going, and - very important - have fun with it! Good luck!
isn`t that the greatest challenge? I have the same problem. I would not say I am naturally gifted but if I am taught well I will learn very quickly but I lack focus. I know I have determination but I don't live in circumstances were it is needed. So I never really improve my self. it's actually really depressing sometimes. because you know your not bad at something. your just missing the extra "umph" to get there.
then when you do try and fail (because it is the first time you try) people laugh at you and you become an underdog. I know I am smart, I know I am fast, I know I am strong, but I need to practice. I always end up being an underdog even though my untraind/unrefined skill can match and even best a person who is trained. from time to time. but in the end they will win because they have the knowledge but I have the skill. makes me wonder what would happen if I trained myself.
Do what if Anakin had no feels for Padme at the beginning of episode 2, What if Jango Fett killed Mace Windu, What if Yoda killed Palpatine and Anakin killed Obi-Wan at that the end of episode 3
+Soccercrazyigboman It is mostly because a great majority of the old-school star wars fanbase saw the force as a mistirious energy that could not be measured or counted. The midichlorians gave the force a cientific point of view that people didn't appriciate
+Nolo Films Yeah well fuck them. how else are you gonna determine how strong someone can be in the force. Srsly this whole shitbashing of the prequels are just from a bunch of old geezers who can't handle change. shit. Shouldn't have even asked. This crap annoys the shit out of me to no ened.
Soccercrazyigboman there's not much point liking Star Wars if they don't, as we both know that's what creates and allows force sensitive beings to tap into the force, without them there would be no force and without the force, no Star Wars :P people just don't think before they speak in this day and age
Patrick Hill Patrick let's get one thing straight this bloke your speaking to ain't no kid, I'm probably older than you matey secondly your comment is a load of shit and makes no sense, without the mids Star Wars wouldn't be a thing or have any real purpose for the force, it gives a more scientific approach to how the force work over that religious bullshit so yea ;)
This is an excellent analysis Stupendous! I absolutely agree, and it made me think that the different strengths they individually have that the other does not give them a deeper sense of Yin and Yang than what's already been established in Anakin's transitions.
I like the analogy with the soldier. You just speak so fluently. You're just a great speaker and you backup your opinion with straight facts, I really am a fan of your vids, enjoy them.
+The Stupendous Wave I don't agree w you a lot but here I do.... It's crazy that some don't see Anakin seen Luke as what he could have been without arrogance but he was between 2 worlds worried about Padme & only Obi knew this & w over 13 years of training & friendship he knew Anakin would be attacking while he defended that's why Obi is such a Pure Jedi & was more powerful than he truly was by wisdom & loyalty to the order & Anakin even after his turn to watch over Luke for 19 years.... Great grounds for more backstory for Obi & young Luke
true, but Anakin was still the most powerful. Anakin was half as old as Obi-Wan, so it was only natural that he wasn't as experienced and patient as him
RobDogs you all know that anakin was actualy stronger than obiwan but mentaly weak in mustafar He could easly destroy obivan He joked his own wife with his unborn twins before the battle and he was lost he was a jedi 1 day before and 1 day after a sith kiling machine his connection to the force wasnt that strong and also he was arrogant as fuck
I really hope Hayden Christiansan is darth vader in rouge and that he'd still fight like he did in the prequels as darth vader in the suit, it be amazing
Great video! His jedi-killing prowess makes so much sense now. He became a more brutal, calculating duelist and cunning force user. I always wondered how such a slow, horribly built cyborg could kill all those flipping ninjas, but it seems that he adapted to his slow body and fought smarter, not harder.
In the EU Palpatine thought that Vader would have unlocked his force potential if he overcame his psychological restraints such as being unable to come to terms with his actions and throwing his old life away
Does it not matter what plagueis said about cybernetics ultimately not weakening a force user. Vader lost half of his limbs that's all he lost and got 4th degree burns that caused him needing life support. What made Vader not reach his 'potential' was mostly psychological not physical since the force has more to do with the mind not body. Look at this way the force is basically psychic powers in a sense and that has to do with the mind. Midichlorians live in each cell not in the body and the human body is made up of 7 trillion cells approximately so how much tissue you have shows how powerful you are can't be true because that would mean Yoda would be weak because he is the size of a two year old and would have less cels. Vader without his limbs would weigh 55 kg. He was a quadriplegic not a bunch of organs in a suit like robocop or grievous. I believe Vader was not hindered in the force by his injuries because that would mean Yoda would be piss weak because of his small size and have less mass which means less cells so body size has nothing to do with force potential. He was hindered psychologically in the force because he hated himself and the good part of him despised what he had become and lost everything he had because he chose to try to save his wife because he thought she would have died but he never had to save her because she wasn't dying or anything. Vader is said to have borderline personality disorder. Vader created barriers in his mind that hindered him because he hated himself a lot to the point he even tried to off himself a few times. Vader wasn't just a cripple he was depressed cripple who hated himself and has mental issues with depression. His suit was also very uncomfortable which kept him awake and found it hard to sleep.
No absolutely...there is a vid and I can't remember who did it but he summarized this fact that ultimately it's Anakins mind that was broke. I do believe that his injuries handicapped him superficially without a doubt but he could have worked past it but he was broken mentally.
+Dr Chopper I read this while wearing the Yoda shirt declaring "Size Matters Not" Xp But I must say, breaking the wall of text into small paragraphs will help you to get your idea across to more people.
We saw Vader with great clarity and maturity. He always seemed to me like he was finally a Jedi, the Emperor's Jedi of course, but not a Sith. Unfortunately we never really got to see what he was still fully capable of as Vader. His only personal battles were with old, out of practice Obi-Wan and Luke who he was reluctant to kill. Considering the ease he was throwing objects at Luke in their first fight I'd say he was still very strong in the Force.
Wow. This is very well done. By far my favorite of your videos thus far. Request to consider - what if Obi-Wan actually killed Anakin on Mustafar, instead of leaving his fate to the Force?
Another note to add: it was very emotional to see that battle of Kashyyyk concept art at 5:32 while he simultaneously qouted "you are like a painter gone blind, a composer gone deaf".
BananenStraße Der i think he would not felt pain over the years being in the suit...because that thing Did NOt bring the morphine with it. That is why that chamber everytime someone wants to reach Lord Vader was for. To relax from long days at work and to seize the pain of being in the suit
"George Lucas has stated that Luke has the same Force potential as his father, which is why both Darth Vader and the Emperor were willing to turn on each other to gain Luke as their apprentice. Luke is said to represent Anakin's full potential, if Anakin had lived to achieve it rather than suffer the horrible fate that made him more machine than man. Lucas also mentions that Luke's Force potential was even more powerful than Emperor Palpatine's" -- Wookiepedia (Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back Director's Commentary)
+Alejandro Molina In the EU, definitely. Grandmaster Luke is the trump card of the EU, bar none. In Disney...I'm less certain he's a Trump Card. Yoda has a pretty high bar, and so does Sidious.
Anakin DID know what being a Jedi meant. He states it clearly in Episode 2 and 3. He was actually disappointed in himself for wanting more and killing the Tusken Raiders. He had saved Obi Wan even when he didn't have to or thought of Obi Wan as a burden twice and cared deeply for his friends. He knew Jedi were to be selfless.
Nah, Anakin Skywalker WAS the most powerful, he just never learned to fully used his powers and balanced it like he did as Vader in the years after. I truly think he was the most powerful but never did hit his full potential, which to me means he would have been even more powerful than the jedi and sith ever saw. Yoda, Mace and Obi saw that Anakin would indeed be more powerful than them in the future, but haven't realized just how powerful he became, and Palpatine knew Anakin would kill him if Anakin outright fought him in a battle, so he tried to get him as his apprentice instead. If Anakin would have been more wiser and used his anger for battle only then he definitely would have reached his full potential even sooner. Like you say Obi Wan only defeated Anakin because he waited for an opening, used his brain and the force to help, he matched him in the fight only due to the fact he knew him so well, but even then Obi Wan was losing. Anakin was much younger stronger and faster and basically a natural at being a jedi fighter. Anakin was the perfect jedi to use the sith's power only if he learned how to control like Mace Windu did. So when Anakin became Vader he learned from his mistakes, and did indeed get even more powerful but due to being half robot, he still would never reach his full potential. So all in all, I still think Anakin Skywalker WAS the most powerful when he turned to the dark side, more powerful than any jedi or sith believed to be, but yet still not reaching his full potential.
I always believed Anakin had the potential. I believe Anakin was at his peak in his battle with Obi Wan, before the limb loss and suit. Kylo Ren's is my fav Lightsaber
Robin Ophalvens I mean, he was too overpowered and I understand why they toke him out of Canon. And also, someone commented saying that his character made the Rebellion worthless, saying that him creating the Rebellion was kind of a dull move, I don't remember his reasons but he said he was an unnecesary character related to the Rebellion. I'm explaining this cause the guy made some solid points.
dude. Hayden Christensen was already a shit actor. that was the problem the episode 1,2 and 3. Worst acting in any Star Wars. I felt bad for Ewen McGregor having to carry that entire cast on his back.
+Crispy Typical Prequel Hating Dude. Yes, the Prequels weren't that good. But it wasn't Hayden who fucked up. Imo he was a pretty good Anakin. The problem was the dialogue. Not him.
Vader was shearing the cold and fear wheherever he goes, he is VERY strong, but i think that even if it's the same person, Anakin was more stronger. As the sith, Vader wanted to be more and more powerful, Anakin wanted to be powerful, we can see in some scenes his fear and sadness, but like Vader, i think he wasn't happy at all, he had nothing worth to live exept his power. Anakin had Padme, he said than he can't live without her which is actally the truth because, to me it looks like before Luke bringed him back, he was the other person, he was Vader all that years and he lived for nothing so i think that he is more powerful as Anakin, because Anakin wanted power, but he also had love of his life with him and his master who is like his brother or even father where Vader had nothing of that, nothing worth to fight and if it looks strange, Vader was weaker then Anakin
My honest answer of which I'd think is better, and which I'd rather be if given the choice, it would be option 2: Someone having the knowledge and will, but lacking in the inherent power. The reason I would choose that is because if I couldn't be the best, then I would help and teach others to achieve it and be the best instead. There's a quote about it: "Sometimes those who can do, but sometimes those who can, would rather help others do." ;)
If Anakin turned to Darth Vader without his injuries, he could have easily gained the power of force lightning........tbh, that is all I think he was missing
+Anthony Spitery Pre-Suit Darth Vader lacked a whole lot more than just Force Lightning. While I believe he became stronger after turning to the Dark Side, he still had the narrow mindset and combat style of Anakin Skywalker, so he still had a lot to work on. You can't just power your way through everything in your path, even if you have the highest potential of any Force Sensitive in the galaxy. Also, Vader would still be handicapped from only being able to cast lightning with his left hand, since it would still short-circuit his cybernetic arm if he tried to cast it with his right hand.
"Having all the power and lacking the knowledge or inherit will" that way he (anakin) will still hold the prodigal potential but age, maturity/time will be his key to further develop his both his physical and force abilities
+ILstate7thRegime I can't let that go. The portrayals of anakin in both episode 1 and 2 were terrible while we've only had one portrayal of rey which was intentional kept vague.
ILstate7thRegime That response was just awful. Rey has power, she wasn't given it. Why she has it is an intentional secret of the movie. As an archetype she is cast in the exact same mold as Luke and Anakan, a couple of civilians from the ass end of nowhere with inexplicable skills and all three of them pull off the big W in their first adventure. You couldn't critique a tenth grade puppet show.
+waste of time Rey is nothing like Luke or ani. Lucas actually showed how Luke ani where found then showed them as Jedi knights. You say Rey has powers and its a secert and molded the same as ani & Luke. Did you pull that non sense out of you're ass? Rey is the fucking dumbest star wars character ever not only that but the way she used the force was so stupid. Force awakens is a watered down version of star wars.
As Qui-Gon stated, the Jedi were "Keepers of the Peace, not Soldiers". The Clone War transformed a lot of the Jedi into Warriors; especially the apprentices, padawans, and younger Jedi, like Anakin was at the start of the war. Bariss saw that the Jedi had lost their way; she and Anakin realized this, but failed to understand that they too had been twisted by the Dark Side.
Anakin turning to lord vader with no injuries but deciding to get serious about training/skill would basically be a god.
Dreadnaught89 Indeed. His powers would rise beyond comprehension.
And sidious Would Pissed in his pants
Wrath the Furious *deity
Darth vader still became extremely powerful and at times he reached his potential that anakin had
Palpatine did mention to Yoda in there duel, Anakin will become more powerful than either of them.
+wally west He becomes stronger than the two of us together...
true
+PUN1SH3R87 that's not what he said in the movie
+Wesley Grace he said you will not stop me soon Darth Vader will become more powerful than ethier of us
+wally west if he remained whole
Long ago, Anakin would have been the most powerful Jedi. But everything changed when Obi-Wan had the high ground.
utuber5055 last airbender reference?
utuber5055 actually he would be the most powerful with or Jedi to ever lived and would most likely never be topped if he reached his full potential
No I believe the high ground saved anakin because once he burned it increased his anger and his dark side power. Darth Vader almost become what anakin could have been
Bruhh
The most powerful jedi is Obi Wan because of the highground
"Myself.:
Zeno Lucario You might want to learn better grammar. Your text was a little weird.
Meh can't please everyone.
No. It was the high ground.
Zeno Lucario I heard that when Vader was alone in his chambers he would take his mask of and remembered his old life with padme and would cry
Zeno Lucario hey you hit me up with a link to that comic
Anakin did actually reach his full potential on Mortis when he tapped into the Force and actually brought The Son and The Daughter(the incarnations of the Dark and Light Sides of the Force)to their knees.
In clone wars, yes. Those two were supposed to be the most powerful force users in the galaxy.
He brought balance there but didn't listen to the old man in his decision to save Padme
+Storm Bringer777 This was a REALLY EPIC couple episodes
Man
I loved this
But when he left mortis he couldn't use this power
Storm Bringer777 Said a k,Jo-Jo.
Man, can you imagine the overkill and crazy power level of Pre-Vader Anakin though?! Star Wars wouldn't even be Star Wars. It'd be the Slaughter of Anakin Skywalker lol...
If Anakin had fully mastered the Light Side, had complete discipline and control, then he would have been more poweeful than Yoda.
Alternatively, if he fully mastered the Dark side and didn't get injured, then Sidious' power would seem like a mere grain of sand compared to Anakin/Vader.
yeah Anakin would have been really powerful with the Dark Side, good thing Obi Wan beat him really.
mlg360 ProShooter So, basically a Force God.
Darth Molalikith. But he could never Master Any side. He is very arrogant and dumb, he is NOT very wise. Stil Think yoda would beat him because he is much more wise👍
Kun For Sjov Klip 507 Agreed that's why luke is better he is more level headed than his father.
The yellow eyes fitted him so well -looked badass ;)
and hot am I right XD
Outstanding job.
Thank you!
good one! btw, where was that quote at the end taken from?
+Antonio Thaddeus Lopez episode 3 novelization by mathew stover
*Matthew
I agree
+John Sirjob Fat
Than perhaps there is a possibility of two. No more, no less.
Awesome video. Anakin is my favorite character so it was fun to hear you explore his powers.
Fun Fact:
The two most important decisions in Anakin's life were both made while Anakin watched someone he cared about being struck by lightning. The first: Mace Windu. The second: His own son. Fortunately he made the right decision the second time around and restored balance to the force.
Ha, good obversation didn't realize that. I got one Ep II Anakin loses his hand to a Sith Lord, Ep V Luke loses his hand to a Sith Lord.
It rhymes, it's like "pottery"...
He even regretted his decision the first time but since he already made the mistake just continued down the path.
Juggy I just realized
Obi-Wan Kenobi played rope- a -dope, and and for anybody who does not know what rope- a- dope is, it is a strategy in boxing, where you lay on the rope letting a powerful opponent punch away at you, but it's a psychological strategy, because if the strong opponent does not feel like, he is breaking through, he easily gets frustrated and tires quickly, but you can also use that as an opportunity like Obi-Wan Kenobi did to find an opening, for which is what happened. Ali orchestrated this strategy beautifully against George Foreman.
It's Rocky's strategy in most of his movies.
In Rocky 3 he plays Rope-a-Dope with Clubber Laing
We learn thru mistakes - the bigger the mistake, the more opportunity to learn.
Anakin made 2 astronomical mistakes that day loosing literally everything (Padme, and much of himself) but lived on to learn astronomically more than most ever do. These failures were key components to Darth Vader's eventual power
I believe Anakin was more powerful as Vader. As they say, "Hard work beats talent when the talented hardly work".
"Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard" sounds better
Actually Anakin didn't always relied on talent he worked hard but with lightsaber training then with the force
I know, the first of the Mortis story. I'm wondering if he thinks others could do that
I think there are groups of force users who uses both sides of the force, Grey Jedi.
Wesley Molt best example is revan
ProMax T.V Revan isn't a good example... He was just Sith andd Jedi. He didn't just go full into the whole force being itself and not light or dark. A good example of would probably be the potential of a gray Jedi or Valkorian and his Empire (is that even canon or just fun video game lore?)
Anikan was mentally weak. To much emotion in a bad way. That's why obi one beat him. He is smarter then Anikan. It's like a really good sports player. But once they get rattled mentally, they start performing worse
Campbell042 than
Campbell042 but when anakin fight with obi wan he is learner most powerful people in galaxy anakin (vader) skywalker
what if anakin went back to the light side on mustafar?
Seraphim227 that could have been epic!
Joshua Abbott the jedi before the purge where to naive to see it....THAT was their ultimate failure. Thanks for the info about the prophecy :D
anakin knowing he was the chosen one made him think he didn't have to train and become better he thought it would just come to him
That isn't true in the slightest. Anakin never seriously believed he was The Chosen One, like Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon always did.
Do the theory of count dooku being a double agent!
this!
Hes not, Done
+Noel Soderholm Don't be an ass.
okay I'm not the only Star Wars fan he saw that potentially yes!
making a theory is not about saying _"it's definitely like this, everyone who disagrees shall go fuck themselves"_. No. It's rather _"With all these clues, think about it, is this legit?"_
This has to be your best video, yet. So sad to think of how close he was to his goal, only to have his own arrogance strip it away from his grasp. It also shows how, through Obi-wan, brains will always defeat brawn.
Dude I love your videos
Thank you!
Yup, great info.
dude ur research, preparation and explanation is on a different level! brutal job 👍
What if Obi wan killed anikan on mustafar after their duel?
+Conor Pratt YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
Yes
Already done (I think)
That what if exists in the revenge of the sith game. Anakin basically kills obi wan and then kills the emperor and becomes the emperor as what he told padme.
+The Story Teller DUMBASS!!!!! He asked what would have happened if Obi Wan had killed Anakin. NOT what would have happened if ANAKIN killed OBI WAN
Wow...nice job Stupendous!
+Andoion Malvon Thanks!
+The Stupendous Wave clueless idiot
+The Stupendous Wave I like your videos and I have learned a lot of theeerees i can tell my frends and dash star is a copy cat
+Sean Darmody Dash Star is good too! >:( Although Stupendous is better
+The Stupendous Wave Got a good one. What if Jango Getting becomes a Good guy along with his clone son Bobba Fett
He lost a lot of midi chlorians in those limbs . . .
Jeff C Never thought about that...
I thought he gained midi chlorine lol I never knew that.
He still had about 70% of them. He only lost his forearms and calves, not his whole arm or leg
Jeff C he has over 20 000 in each cell, do you know how many cells the body has? He would still have waaaaay more total midi chlorians than anyone else
And all the other injuries
strange titel: "Could Anakin Really Have Become the Most Powerful" Of Course he could, George Lucas said it .! and even Darth Sidious admit that as well, but Anakin didn't live up to it, cause he lost so much of his power after losing both legs and arms., G.L. said Darth Vader was only 80% or 90% strong as Sidious.
200% Palpatine's potential at ROTS, and 225% the potential before battling Dooku.
WHY EVERYONE FORGETTING ABOUT ABALOTH
Saying this in general as I've seen people say bad writing before:
I know that the Star Wars movies aren't exactly on par with say LOTR or Christopher Nolan's Batman saga but the problem with saying bad writing if it then invites the viewer to nitpick a piece of fiction (sci-fi at that) and constantly compare it to today's reality, which if you do enough of that to any work you'll always find what your looking at wanting.
+Bryan Gregory Very insightful comment! Thanks for sharing!
that would be normally true but not for sidious he wanted to live forever
Sidious didn't want to be just another link in Bane's Rule Of Two. He desired to be the ultimate and final Sith, only taking apprentices as useful pawns and attack dogs. From Maul, to Dooku, to Vader, and intending to replace Vader with Luke.
Part of me wonders if Sidious knew what would happen to Vader on Mustafar, and, fearing his power, desired Vader to be crippled and handicapped so he would be less likely to surpass him.
This is a perfect explaination for this subject! Well done.
+ChunkyMonkeyMan N Thank you!
Indeed I second that
flawless explanation
Vader is one of the most powerful Sith Lords ever Whether Suited Or Not.
No he isn't, Palpatine is the most powerful Sith Lord who had ever live
Febrian 007 he’s said one of the most not “the most” he was undoubtedly one of the most powerful with ever and had he not suffered his injuries and been trained fully by wideouts with an altered mentality he would have unquestionably become the most powerful force user that ever existed
Febrian 007 palpatine isn’t the most powerful ever sith but one of
Vader is the MOST powerful ever! midichlorian or not!
"Just because someone ultimately has the ability to achieve something great, doesn't mean they will."
WOW !!! O.O
What a great and wise aphorism.
Thanks, man.
What a great quote. If only we were taught that same lesson in like grade school...
Bitchslapper316
You're also speaking true words, my friend.
Really? It's something I have heard too much.
But if you do have the ability to achieve something great and you believe in it and work at it you can achieve anything and will achieve it if you put your mind to it.
N7Normandy117: SSV NORMANDY
Well said, mate. Well said...
+MartianStories I truly appreciate it!
this. exactly. So right.
I agree. After becoming Vader. He realized that he needed to out think his enemies. Then to rely only on his strength and power to out fight them!
The worst enemy of Anakin is the high ground
lol
You underestimate his power!
R.i.p. Legs.
Darth Maul's worst enemy is the low ground.
lol
hard work is better than raw potential. i see myself as an example of this - i am highly intelligent (IQ above 150) yet i totally lack the patience, the drive and the ambition to do anything with it. i learn very very fast and easily but i could never stay focused long enough on one topic to become good at it. so i am a generalist knowing little about a lot but not knowing anything really.
Have you read the manga teppuu? The whole thing is about what your write about in this paragraph :)
Do what if Anakin had no feels for Padme at the beginning of episode 2,
What if Jango Fett killed Mace Windu,
What if Yoda killed Palpatine and Anakin killed Obi-Wan at that the end of episode 3
Actually that one with "What if Yoda killed Palpatine" is a really good one, given that Palpatine was the one who saved Anakin from the lava.
Still to this day do not understand why people don't like midichlorians.
I don't mind them, but I think they weren't necessary. If I had to choose I would go without them.
This is an excellent analysis Stupendous! I absolutely agree, and it made me think that the different strengths they individually have that the other does not give them a deeper sense of Yin and Yang than what's already been established in Anakin's transitions.
+Carlu Yabut Thanks for watching!
+The Stupendous Wave Can you do What if The Empoerer killed vader and Ankin
I like the analogy with the soldier. You just speak so fluently. You're just a great speaker and you backup your opinion with straight facts, I really am a fan of your vids, enjoy them.
The stupendous wave your my favorite guy to look up Star Wars stuff and one of my favorite you tubers of all time
+Eyebrawl103HD batman Thank you very much for watching and for your support!
+The Stupendous Wave yeah you are one of my most favorite you tubers!!!! I can't wait to watch your videos!!!
That quote was deep. It really made me understand Vader. Tragic.
talent just makes it easier to be great. Kenobi was the greater Jedi
true, but Anakin was still the most powerful. Anakin was half as old as Obi-Wan, so it was only natural that he wasn't as experienced and patient as him
RobDogs you all know that anakin was actualy stronger than obiwan but mentaly weak in mustafar
He could easly destroy obivan
He joked his own wife with his unborn twins before the battle and he was lost he was a jedi 1 day before and 1 day after a sith kiling machine his connection to the force wasnt that strong and also he was arrogant as fuck
I Dont believe in people having more or less potential. anyone can be great. before the prequels happened this is how it was
In real life I'd agree but in this case Anakin really has the higher potential than Obi-Wan.
RobDogs Actually Anakin was more talented in terms of fighting Obi Wan was juat smarter...
I really hope Hayden Christiansan is darth vader in rouge and that he'd still fight like he did in the prequels as darth vader in the suit, it be amazing
+Avenged Angels Christensen in suit + James Earl Jones with the voice = perfection.
This is one of your best videos yet.You did a stellar job sir.
Just imagine what he would look like, if he was rather known as "Emperor Skywalker".
Ikr
He would probably be called Emperor Vader.
Leia would still be a Princess that way... And Kylo Ren would be Joffrey _(minus the incest)_.
+Sushant Thapaliya Don't you mean with ALL the incest? I mean Luke clearly got the hots for Leia in the first movie. :-P
+Atomic Otter Hmm... perhaps. Since Darth Sidious was addressed by his actual name, Emperor Palpatine I figured Vader would as well.
Well said....I wikipedia makes this statement bible.
+Dr Chopper An interesting comparison to Yoda... Besides "Size matters not!"
***** yes
+Dr Chopper
I read this while wearing the Yoda shirt declaring "Size Matters Not" Xp
But I must say, breaking the wall of text into small paragraphs will help you to get your idea across to more people.
What if he was never told he was the chosen one?
Liked the explanation with words"cards" and "gear" - very lucid.
Speak the truth sir
Wow. This is very well done. By far my favorite of your videos thus far.
Request to consider - what if Obi-Wan actually killed Anakin on Mustafar, instead of leaving his fate to the Force?
I really want to see a video on what if Darth Vader survived the second death star
that would be interesting
+Genisis ‘Thatman’ Good idea
Nice idea
...his son burned his corpse...on the ewok planet
death star number 3
number 4
number 5
etc.
Perfect video couldn't agree more, Keep up the good work bud!
Another note to add: it was very emotional to see that battle of Kashyyyk concept art at 5:32 while he simultaneously qouted "you are like a painter gone blind, a composer gone deaf".
Great analysis of Anakin/Darth Vader. Great video.
Do star wars what if luke and han were abondoned on Hoth
They'd die
+QManRay lol then there would be no more star wars
Yes yes yes yes yes
+QManRay Gay romance ?
+G.R.O.W Clan It's not gay if you do it for warmth. That's what I learned in Boy Scouts.
Stupendous moonlights as a life coach.
+rwolf8076 Maybe.......................
I love all the concept art and photos used here they're really unique and very cool
what if anakin gets his limbs cut but not burned ?
BananenStraße Der i think he would not felt pain over the years being in the suit...because that thing Did NOt bring the morphine with it. That is why that chamber everytime someone wants to reach Lord Vader was for. To relax from long days at work and to seize the pain of being in the suit
@@ISoulReaper1994 No badass breathing tho
You should make a video on what if padme joined Anakin on mustafar. So interesting, but I want to hear your thoughts on it.
What if watto accepted republic credits?
I’m really happy that Luke in canon is not some god that he unjustifiably was in EU
I always liked that rumination as well. Stover performed a miracle with that wretched screenplay.
"If youth knew; if age could." -Henricus Stephanus
Anakin DID know what being a Jedi meant. He states it clearly in Episode 2 and 3. He was actually disappointed in himself for wanting more and killing the Tusken Raiders. He had saved Obi Wan even when he didn't have to or thought of Obi Wan as a burden twice and cared deeply for his friends. He knew Jedi were to be selfless.
Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard
Jedi Indominus is the most powerful of them all :O
halt dein maul
whom?
lol
No batman is
Batman ! kekekeke
Appreciate this channel, the best Star Wars related channel on RUclips!
I loved how u brought up the fact that Vader had to rebuild himself mentally and physically
What if, on Episode V, Vader looked at Luke and so; " No. I'm Batman."
+Captain Rednek In Kevin Conroy voice
Oh damn!
I think anakin lost because he didn't have any patience, the number 1 thing Jedi are taught
One of your best videos to date. Outstanding analysis.
Having all the knowledge like they say in Star Wars rebels in the last episode of season 2 "Knowledge is power"
I always believed Anakin had the potential. I believe Anakin was at his peak in his battle with Obi Wan, before the limb loss and suit.
Kylo Ren's is my fav Lightsaber
Lucas made sure Vader wasn't OP
Starkiller, cough cough.
+Josh Cayetano Well, surely JJ Abrams won't do this to Rey!
EA didn't
Starkiller is fuckin OP as fuck. People keep saying rey is a Mary Sue and I hate that fucking word. But Starkiller is a way bigger Mary Sue...
anakins greatest ability is destroying the career of any actor who plays him.
+Padraic loingsigh LMAO!
dude. Hayden Christensen was already a shit actor. that was the problem the episode 1,2 and 3. Worst acting in any Star Wars. I felt bad for Ewen McGregor having to carry that entire cast on his back.
+Crispy What? Hayden was great.
+Crispy Typical Prequel Hating Dude. Yes, the Prequels weren't that good. But it wasn't Hayden who fucked up. Imo he was a pretty good Anakin. The problem was the dialogue. Not him.
+Noahhans thank you!
I really find your work remarkable!
Brilliant video, one of my favourites on all of RUclips
the sentence below is false
the sentence above is true
+Madmanas Paradox...
Paradox
I think my mid just blew up
Oh you pathological liar you..
I love it
Vader was shearing the cold and fear wheherever he goes, he is VERY strong, but i think that even if it's the same person, Anakin was more stronger.
We need to turn this into a drinking game. Everytime he says potential, take a shot
Thx dude, I'm already drunk enough and now I have to take another shot
you said "he",why take a shot then that guy said it
My honest answer of which I'd think is better, and which I'd rather be if given the choice, it would be option 2: Someone having the knowledge and will, but lacking in the inherent power.
The reason I would choose that is because if I couldn't be the best, then I would help and teach others to achieve it and be the best instead.
There's a quote about it: "Sometimes those who can do, but sometimes those who can, would rather help others do." ;)
that would interesting to see Anakin reaching his full potential. I would like to see a one on one match between him and Abeloth fight
what if the rebellion didn't blow up the death star
Yavin 4 would have been blown up rebels loose
+Trey LaPorte Then the entire galaxy rises up to fight the death star and the empire after seeing the destruction of Alderaan and Yavin IV
I hate people that say first and first
+Skull gaming pro nice shirt
First
It's James
First
+Roch Szewczyk i saw that video
+Ethan Mcswagginton Which one?
If Anakin turned to Darth Vader without his injuries, he could have easily gained the power of force lightning........tbh, that is all I think he was missing
+Anthony Spitery He did after Mace Windu died he became Darth Vader.
Damn...insightful and mindblowing! Great job:) Actually tells us a lot about our nature as people and how life can sometimes throw us curveballs.
"Having all the power and lacking the knowledge or inherit will" that way he (anakin) will still hold the prodigal potential but age, maturity/time will be his key to further develop his both his physical and force abilities
Do What if Yoda killed palpatine in episode 3
Yeah, do that!!
It would have been cool if anakin wasn't burned... He would just wear the Jedi robe instead of the suit
#freebrady
+Matthew Reynolds haha ikr
#fuckbrady
+Alex Craske why would I care... I'm going to like Brady regardless
+Colin Caliri Regardless of the fact he's a cheat?
Anakins character was buit up well. Reys character is the opposite.
+ILstate7thRegime I can't let that go. The portrayals of anakin in both episode 1 and 2 were terrible while we've only had one portrayal of rey which was intentional kept vague.
+waste of time Rey is pathatic. Not only her character is chessy the way she got her jedi powers is the stupidist I've ever seen.
ILstate7thRegime
That response was just awful.
My favorite person that explains Star Wars very very good
As Qui-Gon stated, the Jedi were "Keepers of the Peace, not Soldiers".
