I have hated myself for years. I would stare at the mirror picking out every little imperfection. But I’m slowly realizing that I’m beautiful. I used to hate my nose, ears, lips, hair, eyes, stomach, and my legs. I would date to try and get compliments and attention. I wanted to be told and convinced I was beautiful. But it’s never what I was told. So I would move on. Now I see I don’t have to be perfect. Perfect is fake. Now I can stare at what I thought were imperfections and say “Hey I think that looks good on me”. I still don’t think I’m pretty enough to take photos of myself but I’m working on it. But I’ve always hated those apps. They made it seem like we were messed up barbies. With imperfections of all different kinds. Making us edit ourselves skinnier and our lips bigger. Two of my best friend's parents don't even talk to their son that much. Most of my friend's parents don't even talk to their son/daughter that much, that's just sad about how they don't even bond with their sons/daughters AT ALL. It is honestly disgusting that so many people don't bond with their parents, and only bond with the people they meet online, or they use apps like this to make themselves feel better about an insecurity that the app CREATED

I am a father of 2 young boys and I am definitely concerned with how the mainstream media is influencing future generations. However, as parents we have a responsibility to make sure that our kids are growing up with decency and proper values. Obviously it’s not all to blame on the parents, but that is what we as parents have signed up for.

My dad doesn’t allow me to use my phone on the dinner table and I thought he was just mean and it doesn’t make a difference but this video has taught me to appreciate what he does for me to not get me to hate myself and like the person I am

I'm 15 and I would never stoop this low to look good lol. This shit is sad as fuck. My sister is one of those people and I explain to her that no one fucking cares if you look perfect in a photo. Once you realize that everyone around you is too busy worrying about themselves to worry about you you start to not care anymore if you still cared for some reason.

Me and you both Lucid, It actually makes me really happy to see that someone else near my age range (I'm a year younger) is also wise, mature, and is aware of this bullshit that gets fed to our generation through the media. I have two little cousins and I love em to death, their like the little sisters I never had.
