As an spanish speaker, google translate made the worst job translating lol the hacker was telling him at some point "Disculpa, me confundes de persona" which google translated as "Apology, I think you're mistaking as a person" or something like that, while the accurate translation would be: "I'm sorry, I think you're mistaking me as a different(or wrong) person" which means he was not the guy he was talking about(or at least that was him lying about it)
Good thing you fell for this, because you have thr army and power to put it to an end. Who knows you probably saved more big youtubers like yourself in the future
man, i got into a similar situation with the youtube downloader stuff about a year or two ago (obviously not as bad though). i knew that these websites i went on for audio from youtube were fishy, but i was so desperate for audios from youtube for my animations. all of these websites either had malvertisements, or asked me to download some weird app off of the app store to get my audio for “security reasons”. i can’t believe i almost downloaded some of that shit or believed some of these malicious ads. after about an hour or two of going on “youtube to mp3” websites, i realized how dumb i was. good thing i didn’t actually download anything though. i’ve always been interested in cybersecurity topics since 2016, but this experience of me being stupid and desperate made me want to be as educated as possible with this stuff. now i’m extremely cautious about everything i do online and scan every link i find on virustotal.. yeah i’m pretty paranoid tl;dr a few years back i was being desperate for youtube audios and decided to go on some weird sites to get that audio and then realized how dumb i was being and decided to be as safe and educated as possible about online safety lol
