I was just wanting to learn how to study anatomy yesterday! Now this is convenient
I started drawing just five days ago (if you don't count random scribbles on the side of my college pages), like with a proper sketchbook and everything, and on day one happened to find your channel. I just want to say that your videos are being great pillars for me, as an absolute beginner it gives me a good idea on how I should tackle all these new things. Sometimes I'll stare at the blank pages and go "Ok but what do I actually draw? How do I even do a body if I have no idea about it?" so stuff like this video is seriously a godsend. Thanks so much for taking the time to do all these tutorials ❤️ Hopefully a year from now I'll do them justice.

This is honestly one of the most well conatructed anatomy videos that I've seen so far. You explain precisely what is useful and why it's useful and most importantly also include the figure. I'm so happy that expressions are being pointed out to people, because it often happens that no-one includes it and the only thing people have to rely on are bridgeman-style boxes. Not that the fighre and flow is necessary, andrew lumis included it as an afterthought in his book. But I think it's a concept that many people are unaware of, which results in a lack of improvement. Once again overall great video with excellent examples and narration, the only thing I'd add is to refer the viewers to literature that explores the individual sections in greater detail, though that's a really minor thing and I'm sure that there are reasons to not do that as well.

in conclusion: you dont necessarily need to learn all proportions and muscles names and all that. you iust need to practice practice practice and muscle memory will eventually help you be able to draw anatomy without struggling. you can practice through studying references- how the body flows and moves and focus where each body part connects and how. and you can do more detailed studies where you focus on where the lights and shadows are, all the little crevices and stuff like that. fake it till you make it y'all !

I've been actively learning/studying drawing for over ten years now, I've seen countless anatomy videos but this is honestly one of the best. I love how you break down the different ways for drawing the human figure into steps and talk about not having the anatomy being perfect. I started enjoying my art a lot more recently by trying not to stress over every detail as long as it mostly looks alright.

My anatomy and facial proportions have been really lacking lately, forcing me to rely on colors to bring my pieces to something I'm somewhat pleased with, so this was really helpful! The video was really helpful as always, but I have a question. Sometimes I find it hard to understand where the body parts are when my reference is wearing baggy clothes. Is there any tips? Or do I just need to practice more? Thank you in advance
I think trying to get yourself more familiar with the silhouette of the reference helps so you can kind of just mark our the parts under the baggy clothes, or pay attention to how you think the head connects to the neck and down and go from there😅, I'm not blue biscuits but I hope this helps

What device do u use for drawing?
How do I know what to use the horizontal line for on faces? Some videos I see people say put the eyes slightly above the horizontal line, others in the middle, and below.
consider reviewing some online resources on the Loomis Method. it's a common way to draw the head accurately by scoping out the form first :)
