Back in the 60's that pancake house had the best Navajo Tacos around. It was also the Greyhound bus station. I took my family to the trading post around 5 years ago, it was still (barely) going then. The cafe had closed long before that.
Correction 3 years later: I went inside the Pancake House and their was a calendar on the wall from 2005, meaning at least the pancake house closed that year most likely.
Perfect man, I must say what ever tips you gave parker production payed off in his editing his video intros are epic and the over all production value is way up, and it has a hint of Dan bell all over it hahaha
thanks Dan, I've been there many times over my fifty years on this planet and you brought back fond memories, I believe I still have some polished stones from the gift shop!
My family would stop there every summer in the early 70's. It was based on the TV show F Troop. It was always busy. You could go up into that wooden tower. My mom would never let us because it creaked really loud when the wind blew and you could see it sway a little.
I just moved cross country from Vegas to Fairfax and on our drive we actually passed this place..I'm stoked to see it because we weren't stopping for exploring while in the uhaul lol.
Dan Bell you are hands down my favorite on RUclips. i really miss seeing more of you and Will. it's they're a reason your not making as many videos? anyways your great i wish i could see more of you keep up the good work!!
Really interesting! I remember a VERY long time ago stopping here to eat. It was the typical tourist trap, but they did have good food, and the the motel looked ALLOT cleaner than it does now, LOL!
Hi Dan! How weird that those weeds were growing inside the rooms! Maybe seeds blew under the doors or something? Very strange. Cool video, though. Happy filming and safe travels to you and Will!
This was the fort where F Troop was filmed - the TV series ended in 1967 so really before my time. The restaurant is the Pancake House and there was also a Trading Post here.
That dead hotel was as depressing as Sunrise Mall in Corpus Christi,TX. ever had been in 2016,when Mr. Dan Bell had filmed inside that already-dead mall. And there, somewhere around in that Route 66 dead motel.....there had been tumbleweeds growing around that section. Dated November 11,2019. Wow. That had been depressing as hell. Just as bad as Dan Bell filming a not just a dead mall.....with no signs of life, but with hardly any lights. NO places for shoppers to eat out at. Hardly any stores for shoppers to shop at. But being *so* dark that it's creepy! When you see a sign that says "For asistance, dial 911." you KNOW you're in a worse place than a dead mall...........,and what's worse, you revisit people you used to work with, when you once had worked at some section at that awful, horrible place (where *MURDERS* , *street gangs* and *CRIME* were frequently common. And you have the guts to visit that purgotory of death, emotional distress, and in need of psychological help (? ! ) of a "mall"? ; you're at a zombie mall.
2:50 The water tank likely tells the story. The buildings probably had poor groundwater supply, and maybe it dried up. Wouldn't pass health inspection. Trucking in water was expensive. High operating costs kill roadside businesses in the desert.
this is amazing! it would be my dream to explore these places with you, they fascinate me! i adore your videos!! your so lucky to have the chance to do this I have nothing like this in the Uk lol. abandoned roadside attractions are one of my faves!
I've never commented on your videos but I feel I must. I always look forward to your videos. Definitely my favorite UE team! And Will is looking more and more fit ! good job guys! love your videos! I always share!
Where I'm sitting right now is less than a twenty minute drive from there. F Troop was filmed on that site, so no, it wasn't a real fort. At one time there was a post office, a restaurant and a general store there.
Omg, this is SO cool - we passed this place on our move out here to Nevada last year, and its was one of the coolest remnants from Rte. 66 in my opinion... glad to see it up close!! You guys rock!! :)))
You could have brought a bump key with you to go into those rooms. Those things don't do any damage, but you probably still would have inevitably encountered bees or something else living in there.
Hmmm Wonder why you could not get in maybe the owners didn't want the rooms to get trashed but to me looking at the weeds growth on the inside it probably very musty and maybe mold who knows good video Dan always a pleasure to watch.
0:34 Pancake House - closed, Taco Bell - closed, Coffee Shop - closed. It doesn't look like they even take down the old signs when a new business opens up.
Cool video guys... After that bee attack video I checked out some others with Bee Keepers... and they were having a hard time even with the suits. You guys were really lucky.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania talking to you here: we call it “root” up here, too. I don’t really hear it saying it the way it’s spelled up here, but some people do. However, I do tend to say “if you take a left off of route (ROOT) 422”, then I’ll say “I used to have a paper ROUTE (rOUTe) when I was 15.”
Fort? Looks more like an old concentration camp. Complete with guard tower and chain link fencing. That weird log building was probably a interrogation room! 🚬👓
Just food for thought here. You ever think that if anyone ever got killed here that your fingerprints are on all the door knobs.. hehe Love the videos! .
Do you think you'd ever make it to Louisville? We wouldn't have places like this but we have a lot of cool buildings full of crack deals lol know how much you enjoy those
This was shot just a couple of days after our infamous bee attack so I was really on guard. Never want a repeat of that experience. Enjoy!
I don't blame you. I be cautious too!!
+DanBell/FilmIt where did you guys end up going when you came back through New Orleans. I know you didn't go to Six Flags.
i agree Dan.
What ? Do you have special Rambo style bees over there ?
Guessing is was either killer bees or yellowjackets
Travelling route 66 is on my bucket list and I'm fascinated by abandoned places so with that being said Thank you Dan for the great video
Back in the 60's that pancake house had the best Navajo Tacos around. It was also the Greyhound bus station. I took my family to the trading post around 5 years ago, it was still (barely) going then. The cafe had closed long before that.
I like how as soon as you were about to say "shit" a truck went by and drowned it out.
The trucker was trying to save Dan's video from being demonetized by RUclips.
Matt Trey uh no, you don't get demonetized by swearing, only by using terrorist words
@@TacoCat8891 what are terrorist words
"We're not gonna go in here because, uh, bees."
Lol after that one attack, I think dan might have a bit of minor ptsd.
I think I'd still rather stay in this abandoned motel with the overload of tumbleweed, and plant growth in the windows, than the Country Hearth Inn!
I don't know but these kind of videos just blow my mind like a window into someone else's life .. props dan I love it
So I lived just north of here in lupton Arizona. I remember coming down here all the time to get goodies and the such. Beings back alot of memories.
one day I want to just start driving west and see these kind of places.
Really?!
THIS is why you'd wanna go..?!
love your Videos , you take time in the areas of interest and not just run through places . Keep up the great work and stay out of sketchy Motels .
Haha. Will do.
Kinda creepy seeing the weeds growing inside those rooms...
I expect to see "mama" Bates looking out from her rocking chair.
Apparently this place closed down in 2014. I find it amazing that so much deterioration has taken place in only 2 years.
What place was it?
Correction 3 years later: I went inside the Pancake House and their was a calendar on the wall from 2005, meaning at least the pancake house closed that year most likely.
@Jhakobi99 Oh I meant the Pancake house likely closed in 2005 going by the calendar on the wall
Perfect man, I must say what ever tips you gave parker production payed off in his editing his video intros are epic and the over all production value is way up, and it has a hint of Dan bell all over it hahaha
It's really sad to see places like this go out of business. It's our past and pretty soon there won't be nothing left to remind of us it
love your stuff man, so raw and real. keep it up, you deserve way more views.
thanks Dan, I've been there many times over my fifty years on this planet and you brought back fond memories, I believe I still have some polished stones from the gift shop!
It was an old attraction that was "borrowed" from the F-troop TV series. It was open to some degree when AdamtheWoo went through it in mid 2014
My family would stop there every summer in the early 70's. It was based on the TV show F Troop. It was always busy. You could go up into that wooden tower. My mom would never let us because it creaked really loud when the wind blew and you could see it sway a little.
Thank you for filming this. I've always been afraid of these buildings on the reservation.
I just moved cross country from Vegas to Fairfax and on our drive we actually passed this place..I'm stoked to see it because we weren't stopping for exploring while in the uhaul lol.
Right in time for my birthday! Thanks, guys (;
I wonder if Room 237 was unlocked and opened up.
it was one tricky wank i can tell you that
I've been waiting for a new video thanks Dan! awesome job!
Was there in 2001 Oct.. well exactly 15 years ago, weird...
it was an amusement tourist place souvenirs ect
The aircraft graveyard in Pima is a hoot.
The airplane graveyard is on my bucket list.
That small, oddly shaped building is called a Hogan.
Hulk Hogan.
What's it for? I thought it was a huge ant hill at first lol
It has a number of uses, most of them ceremonial. Worked out in AZ for a number of years. Best state for the strange and weird on Rt 66
Fair enough, thanks!
Dan Bell you are hands down my favorite on RUclips. i really miss seeing more of you and Will. it's they're a reason your not making as many videos? anyways your great i wish i could see more of you keep up the good work!!

Hi Dan! How weird that those weeds were growing inside the rooms! Maybe seeds blew under the doors or something? Very strange. Cool video, though. Happy filming and safe travels to you and Will!
How disusing things can make them appear creepy... I wonder if it's the same with our brains too
This was the fort where F Troop was filmed - the TV series ended in 1967 so really before my time. The restaurant is the Pancake House and there was also a Trading Post here.

Weeds in the window make it look like a sci-fi movie.
We were there in 1969. I was under the impression that this was where F Troop was filmed. It was a fun place back then.
Good old FtCourage. We used to stop there in the 80’s for soda and candy. My grandparents are resting at a nearby cemetery. RIP.
Thanks Dan. Cool Video. Been Wandering where you and Will were at. I Live in Prescott Arizona. Good to have you guys in the State. Good Exploring.
Your the bees knees dan :p.
Hi Dan, thanks for sending the postcard. I received it last week. All way out here under down under!
"You think this was a real fort?" 🤣😂🤣😂🤯
Geez, I dunno, Sherlock...
Do you have the video with the bee attack?
Ft. Courage was the name of the 1960s sit com staring Forrest Tucker and Ken Bury. Take my word for it, the Cavalry never had a Fort Courage.
I've never commented on your videos but I feel I must. I always look forward to your videos. Definitely my favorite UE team! And Will is looking more and more fit ! good job guys! love your videos! I always share!
The Fort Courage trading post in Arizona closed in 2014
Dan, time for you to stop travelling. "Oh no, I'm too afraid of the bees and snakes."
The locks keep the humans out, but the plants found a way to creep in, and take over.....
Something shady must be going on in that motel. Weeds in the window and all doors sealed tight.
Where I'm sitting right now is less than a twenty minute drive from there. F Troop was filmed on that site, so no, it wasn't a real fort.
At one time there was a post office, a restaurant and a general store there.
That motel is in pretty good shape. Someone could fix it up and rent it out to grand canyon tourist.
i really love your videos! cheers and love from Chile!
Thank you!
You look like you have a fun life !! Traveling everywhere and making cool videos :)
Poor Dan and his killer bee phobia now. Really puts a damper on his exploration in the desert regions.
They should restore all route 66 famous motels
I believe Ft Courage was the name of the Fort on F Troop, The '60s TV Show
always been fascinated by route 66..thanks guys.
Omg, this is SO cool - we passed this place on our move out here to Nevada last year, and its was one of the coolest remnants from Rte. 66 in my opinion... glad to see it up close!! You guys rock!! :)))
(The Courage thing I mean lol)
Nice job Dan! This was cool!
You could have brought a bump key with you to go into those rooms. Those things don't do any damage, but you probably still would have inevitably encountered bees or something else living in there.
Wonder what the log structure was?
Fort Courage is actually for sale! Passed by there last week, crazy shit.
Hey Dan, I never did see the follow up to the bee incident. Is there video?
Will, your little red socks just set the stage for watching this one. LoL
I'm eating Gushers because I have no life
:o I havent had those since the 90s
that sounds like a great life actually. mmmmm gushers.
Wow the way my mobile displayed the notication was "mmm gush" defently sending out the wrong message lol
How come so many motels did bankrupt or closed? Is there a reason?
Does make you more cautious doesn't it?!?! Thanks Dan. Love your vlogs!!
Hmmm Wonder why you could not get in maybe the owners didn't want the rooms to get trashed but to me looking at the weeds growth on the inside it probably very musty and maybe mold who knows good video Dan always a pleasure to watch.
I hear this is Dan Rather's favorite getaway. "Courage."
"What's the frequency Kenneth?"
0:34 Pancake House - closed, Taco Bell - closed, Coffee Shop - closed. It doesn't look like they even take down the old signs when a new business opens up.
Wow a motel not destroyed...
Cool video guys... After that bee attack video I checked out some others with Bee Keepers... and they were having a hard time even with the suits. You guys were really lucky.
OMG! That place looks like a motel/hotel for any & All kinds of critters! YIKES!! 😳
Thats a lot of Tumble Weaves..😉😊
Not sure about elsewhere, but in Texas we pronounce route: "root". (Yeah, I know, who cares!)
solitary bee we all pronounce it root.
Michigan here.
Upper Michigan and I agree, “Root”
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania talking to you here: we call it “root” up here, too. I don’t really hear it saying it the way it’s spelled up here, but some people do. However, I do tend to say “if you take a left off of route (ROOT) 422”, then I’ll say “I used to have a paper ROUTE (rOUTe) when I was 15.”
Same in England
Fort Courage, Az., got it's name from the Fort Courage on the '0's TV show, F Troop.
will you upload again creepy videos on your other channel? I miss that :(
Cool video. Hey, who would win in an arm wrestling match between you and Will? Just wondering.
the only plus about getting stung by bees that one time was it probably got you a lot more views ? Who knows
Fort? Looks more like an old concentration camp. Complete with guard tower and chain link fencing. That weird log building was probably a interrogation room!
🚬👓
Awesome video Dan!
Brings new meaning to "the jungle room" XD
Strange, weeds are growing inside the rooms and yet vandalism is practically nil.
The plants growing in the window sills are watered by condensation on the glass.
The Motel probably died when route 66 was shut down.
Reminds me of an episode of The Outer Limits where the tumbleweeds chased the couple into the house and trapped them there.
What a strange place! They really like to build the sets from their favorite tv shows out west, don't they? ;)
Did you know the old Tv series F-Troop Fort was named Fort Courage... Just saying... Good video guys!
Bad roof, when plants growing inside and the windows are sealed up tight
Why didnt you go up to the 2nd floor?
Just food for thought here. You ever think that if anyone ever got killed here that your fingerprints are on all the door knobs.. hehe Love the videos! .
I’ve been there as a kid in the 60s it was kinda a neat place had to beg my dad to stop there. It was a mock up of the tv show f troup.
That motel looks fairly smart, in terms of the exterior. I wonder why it went out of business?
I stayed in that motel in '95
what is it for? 5:00
I have passed there many times. Not what I expected. Looks better from the road.
FYI Fort Courage was named after the old show F Troop.
So sad! I ate there in 1995. Had the best tamales I ever ate there.
What was the worst experience you've had? The bees or the drug dealers in Baltimore?
That drug dealer episode scared me :/
That one made me afraid and I was sitting in my living room!
I didn't even finish watching that drug-dealer video. It scared the hell out of me!
It was posted long before I saw it, so I knew he survived but man oh man, I was so scared for him, that's for sure!
Was he filming when he got attacked by bees? Which video was that?
Isn't that where they filmed the F-Troop?
Do you think you'd ever make it to Louisville? We wouldn't have places like this but we have a lot of cool buildings full of crack deals lol know how much you enjoy those
