- A tutorial I put together for those that want to tackle the FMC and understand the basics of how it works. This tutorial is over an hour long but there is a good amount of information to cover
I used this tutorial with the ifly 747 several years ago and just purchased the pmdg 737 and returned to this tutorial as a refresher. Brilliant beginners example of how to operate the fmc. Thank you!
Easly the best tutorials available on utube.
At last i understand these procedures,as the manuals with pmdg are confusing. Thanks for making these vids.available to those of us who are in a learning curve.
Wow, well worth watching! Very nice detail! I like how you explained all parts of the flight using only the FMC, no manual control really at all so that way we can get a great understanding of how the computer works and its capabilities! I was impressed with not only the computer, but also the detail of the tutorial! Thank you very much I greatly appreciate it!
This is by far the best FMC tutorial I've seen. Thanks for the audio and visual on screen references.
This was simply the best tutorial I have ever seen for the Boeing FMC... I wasn't actually going to watch the entire thing since i actually wanted to make a tutorial for the 747-400 FMC myself, but you described everything so perfectly here already, that i just had to continue watching all parts even tho I'm familiar with everything :).
Thank you very much for it, I'm sure you helped alot of people at this point! :)
Thank you very much! Very useful information. Before your videos, the FMC was "Flight Management Confusion". Now is Flight Management Complete.
Good Job.
Outstanding tutorial, never came accross anything better in You tube. Great job, great presentation.
Great tutorial!
I liked the professionalism, the fact that you stuck to what you wanted to present which is the FMC.
And, you are correct. Having been on more than 3,500 commercial flights, and talking with hundreds of pilots, all of them say that they use the AP for just about everything and they don't mind a bit. You are correct when you say that the AP is safer, more fuel efficient and used extensively in commercial flights.
wow. I sat here for the past 7 hours watching these tutorials and following along in a 737-300. I learned most of how to use the FMC but but i did get a lttle confused during the ILS part. I want to thank you for putting these totorials becuase i learned so much, thanks!
Thank you so much. I have been using MSFS since FS2 and I find that these series of videos are the single most helpful thing I have found for learning the FMC.
Thanks so much, I have tried reading the PMDG instruction manual, but your tutorial makes it so much easier. Thank you.
Brilliant work!! its given me a very good understanding of navigation. The FMC was a big puzzle, but this tutorial has cleared many of my concepts. I never knew how to enter SID, STAR and approach plate data into the FMC until I saw this tutorial.
Thanks man. I was just like you, intimidated by the FMC and upset that no one ever took the time to explain how it works. Now that I know just as you say your flights are at a totally different level. Good luck.
Thank you! Your tutorial's on the FMC and the Startup have helped me out a lot. Its a big task moving from defults to payware aircraft, and you have just made that step so much easier! Thanks mate.
Excellent tutorial man. Watched it first the other day, and now today watched it again while going through it myself. Absolutely perfect. Thanks so much for this, as I went from being clueless with the PMDG to now being able to actually fly it, and oh how much for fun it is than planes with no FMC, etc. The realism now makes this game 100x better for me. Thanks again!
Das besste Tutorial, dass ich bis jetzt gesehen habe! Super arbeit und sehr gut verständlich.
Werde den Flug nochmal für mich wiederholen, Danke :-)
Outstanding series! Thanks a lot.. The PMDG and FMC can be a bit intimidating but your tutorials really break things down.
Cheers.
Great series, takes the mystery out of FMC. This was exactly what I have been searching for! Thanks!
I'm no stranger to using a realistic FMC ( in simulators ) but I still often hit a learning curve when encountering a new one, they all have their subtle differences.
The tutorial got me up to speed right away so thanks a lot.
Thanks for the tutorial. I used it many times but you still managed to clear a few questions and show me a good few things. Thanks for your patience.
Thank you very much for this tutorial.
Great job! You're an asset to the flight sim community.
Keep it up!
You are BIG!!! Thank you for that tutorial, PDMG should pay you for doing this :) I have learned how to almost fully use the FMC in less than 3 days, with these videos help.
Very nice tutorial! 5 Star. After I watched all the videos I knew that I wouldn't be able to use the FMC perfectly. You were right at the end... I guess I need to review a little bit more and practice. I know it will be fun to fly an entire flight using the FMC. Thanks again!
this is one of the best tutorials on fmc
very very nicely done sir, excellent for starters/beginners...i wish there were some more tutorials like these concerning other fmc related things, maybe like procedures to be followed in cruise, locating position, holds, diversions, etc etc.....but all in all....great job!!!!!
Thanks so much for all the work you put into this had no idea how it worked something new to learn again thanks John
I just watched 1 through 9 of your videos. Just awesome mate thanks heaps, I now have a real good idea of how to use the FMC. Seriously you could make money from this, i know it's prob a labour of love for you but dude seriously it was really good. Why isnt there more of this on the internet. It is so hard to learn from a book when you arent being shown. Thanks a tonne. See you on Vatsim some time.
Thank you very much.very informative and saved lots of time for me.FMC is well explained here and i will recommend it to my friends. Great Tutorial....best regards....from KUWAIT
Thanks man Im glad you liked it. I always thought the best way to learn is to watch someone else do it.
Seriously the best tutorial yet. Thanks a million
Yes! I finally did this flight completley succesful using the FMC. I always screwed up on the ILS part. But i finally did it this time and had a great landing. Thanks for posting this video, it really helped me a lot :)
Thanks for this tutorial, i'm starting a type rating on a 737-800 soon and found this very useful to get more familiar with the FMC.
Thanks you helped me out a lot!
Pretty nice done tutorial best seen on RUclips and it is almost 3 Years old!
Good Job THANKS!
Outstanding! thanks for taking the time to do this! contributors like you make flight simulation the great community it is!
Thanks man that means alot. I put a great deal of time into it so its always nice when people take the time to say thank you.
DUDE im your new FAN. I didn't know jack about FMC and your tutorial simplified alot thanks
thankyou so much for this dude! spent 6 hours going over everything and following along on my fs9! 5/5!
Really helpful, thanks so much. Another thing all pilots should remember is that you can't fly the plane with your head buried in the glare shield. Get used to looking out the window every once in a while!
Great tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to help us all
Mike Price
WOW. Excelent tutorial, thank you for help me to understand the FMC programming, I have the FSBuild, but is much better to understand and put the information directly on the flight computer, the old fashion way like a pilot in the real life. The FMC and the autopilot are not replace the real pilot but if we put the info correcly, have the charts on hand and we do the propperly fixes in flight, this makes us the experience so easy. THANK YOU AGAIN. Greetings :)
Great, Man! Thank you so much for your tutorial! I has helped me alot! When I am flying I always remember your great job and really appreciate that! So simple to understand and follow! thank you!
Just great, you pulled it all together, thanks and well done.
Simon
Thank you for your wonderful tutorial. I can finally use the FMC for one of my payware aircrafts. Thanks you...
Much appreciated your shared knowledge and video presentation from vid-1 to 9. Educatinal , Bless you Turbias . !
i watched lots of fmc tutorials but this was way the best very much thnx and i hope you will make much more videos :D
Very nice!
It really helped me with flying the 737 PMDG.
Well, there were quite a few of things you could've left out in order to keep this tutorial more simplified. But overall, it was extremely well done. Five stars, bro.
Hi. thnx a lot for this nr.1 tutorial on FMC. you did a realy good job. thnx for the effort.
very very nice tutorial. I LEARNED ALOT WATCHING THIS TUTORIAL. just keep it coming.... :9)
Thanks, this tutorial is great, I'm flying Wilco's PIC 737 but the included manual doesn't get any close to your tutorial.
I'm pretty sure the FMC works pretty much the same as PMDG.
Best FMC tutorial on the whole web!!!
fantastic FMC tutorial! really great piece of work
Thanks for taking the time to give us guidance !!!!
CLAP CLAP CLAP! Very nice job! I feel i can get into the flight deck of my PMDG and do some practice now. Thanks
Thank you very much for taking time to do this.
Loved it
very well done and very helpful. explained very nicely! thank you for the efforts!
@okturus The horn is a warning sounds that something is not configured correctly for takeoff. The 737 will yell at you if it senses that something is not right. Make sure the break is off, make sure spoilers are down, make sure flaps are set to at least 5 degrees or more (5 is the common one).
Rudder will still work with the Yaw damper off so if its not working check your joystick assighnments. Load up the cessna and see if the rudder works on that first as it will alert you to the problem.
Soooooo Helpful!!!!!! Thanks a Million. Now I can finally fly my PMDG 747-400x.
I really enjoyed watching your video, learned alot so many thanks to you..
Great job!!!...Helped me alot in understanding FMC
very good info and great narrative. thanks it helps a bunch
Excellent tutorials, good stuff. Thank you.
Your welcome man. The FMC on the 737 and 747 is very similar although the 747 one has more features but 90% of everything else is the same.
The Telemaster is still a work in progress :)
Thank you so much WTurbiasz for this one... this is simply EXCELENT! :-)
Thanks man, great tutorial... Your tutorial helped me a lot...
That was a great tutorial I really learned a lot Thanks
Thanks alot for this great tutorial! It really helped me to get into that FMC stuff!
Thank you very much. This tutorial is fabulous!
thanks, all your tutorials help
Nicely done... well explained!!
you're really a big help and it's indeed useful thanks.
Make sure you manually place the ILS frequency into the radio stack. Set it on the right and on the left and make sure both channels are active and you should have no problem.
This is the way for the autopilot to let you know that its ready to carry out the full approach. You will also notice that GS changed to FLARE indicating that the autopilot will also Flare the aircraft for you.
fantastic tutorial
good job
support
Thank you for this very great tutorial!
hey man this has been a life saver, i have a PMDG model just sitting there in Flight Simulator just waiting to be flown, but i couldnt because i had no idea of how to use the FMC.... NOW I CAN FLY IT :D thank you sooo much man! all the best! -btw are u apart of any VA's?
Oh and thanks so much for uploading this it is very informative
very very Helpful and interesting. Thanks a Million
Nice vid, it helped me alot, only certain things are working different in the PMDG 747-400.. But i will figure out...
I use Ground Enviornment. It makes all the textures really stand out. For weather I use Active Sky
absolutely fantastic!
Nice video for those who don't know how this works, but why did you enter the entire STAR by hand when they were pre-programmed into your FMS and were ready at hand. Also, I love it when STAR guides you right onto the guideslope, but I find my self way too often misaligned from the ILS even if the STAR is followed by the A/P and the F-disp seems to be correct. Kinda like the airport in FS is not where it is supposed to be according to the display.
Dude! Thanks so much for this tutorial! Helped me so much! Watched the whole thing! Excellent! But just one question...
What does the Level Change button do?
very good job sir
Well Done... a great tutorial...t hank you
Oh my god m8, Im sooo thankful! this is really helpful!
Thanks a lot! :D
very in formative. thank you
thanks alot for uploading nice flight too!!
As you said its a labor of love. I learned from the manual and let me tell you it was a bear :)
thanks cap, very ilustrative
You dont have to disconnect. When you have both the autopilots engages you will notice your primary display will say FLARE indicating that the autopilot will flare the aircraft. With one autopilot you have to do the flare yourself. Noting wrong with doing it yourself, have the autopilot do 90% of the work and then kick it off when you reach minimums. Nothing wrong with doing it that way.
Really awesome videos,I just startind with FS2004 and i could not find the aeroplannet website. If i were to fly from NZ to lets say Fiji where would i get the details for all what u did on ur videos.
@kieranman739 You only need 2 activated if you want the AT to do an automatic flare otherwise you can use one. Its not a bad idea to use two as in the real world 2 is better then 1 in case one goes down. The other two are for the copilot to use if hes flying from the right seat that way there is no confusion.
thanks for this great tutorial!
Thankx
Great work!
Thanks for the tutorial, it helped me a lot :)..
many thanks for this tutorial !
Great Turorial! Thank you so much!
You will do well. The privates license is not very hard to get but it does take a good amount of study and practice. Once you get the taste of real flight you will never want to set foot on ground again. Just remmember that what makes planes fly above all else is money. So get a good paying job :)
Just watched all 9 videos, really well explained, going to give it a go now... Can I ask one question, during this video on approach when the cockpit voice says "2500" or "1000" did your altimeter say more ? I really didn't understand this
Thanks again
THANK YOU DUDE!!!!!
howdy from Dallas texas
we dont say howdy lmao but its funny
