For anyone who has trouble with the toxic waste level. You Can see were the Bouncy barrels land, by looking at the ground. The barrels scratch the Ground were they land. Hope this helped for anyone having trouble

Pro tip: on the bridge levels aka the road to nowhere and the high road do the rope trick where you carefully hop on the ropes with the character’s shadow perfectly center on the rope. Don’t look at their feet, once you’re center, don’t use the analogue stick, use the button to go straight and jump over the rope ends
I had never played Crash 1 before, so I decided on playing through that in the trilogy before tackling the other two. I was doing reasonably well and enjoying myself til I got to High Road. It broke me so much trying to complete that level, I gave up and just swore off playing the first til I played through the other two.
I was going to give you flack about the provado, but you owned up to the hidden agenda. That said aside even -- I can admit you're better than me at this game. I'm good enough to beat it, but don't have the patience to gem/relic clear it.
Funny thing is the 100% good ending isn't even the true ending. Though it is neat how there was originally a cutscene made to show Cortex blowing up the blimp after he's beaten, making it more of a bad ending.
I recently bought a PS4 and this game and am jealous of how easy Caddy found the first few levels of Crash 1 without falling into holes. Since I'd never played the PS4 version of the game I wasn't familiar of the controls and found Crash was heavier to control. In the first few levels I would always jump too early into the holes as you can't control the game's camera around Crash. In the very first level Caddy EASILY smashed all the boxes with Aku Aku's help/power. I wasted lives trying to get all the boxes in that level. Also, did anyone else find 'Hog Wild' level difficult at first due to the warthog's speed? Is it just me...? Lol

when i originally played Crash Bandicoot 1 (i mustve been like 5 or smth) I literally gave up at Papu Papu. Papu fucking Papu was too difficult for me.
I can only assume its because he's playing at 60FPS rather than the 30FPS the PS4/XB1/Switch run at. It makes the game relatively smoother so it can be abit disorienting if your used to the normal 30.
