I'm going to see to it that every major news channel in the U.S., interviews you on-air. You are a great Ambassador for Aviation, and every kid in America should know your name.
Great to see these PC 24 videos again. Keep them coming and keep instructing us on the avionics and everything else about the best business jet in its class. It’s fascinating!🛩️👍🏻
This is your best video yet in the PC 24. I hope you do more like this where you see how things really work. I really like your video and I hope you get your helicopter license soon.
That's so awesome to see you in Reno! Just under a month ago I passed my PPL checkride on that very pavement you did your intro on. Maybe someday I'll see you around in the future! Love the content, always a pleasure to watch!
Thanks for bringing us on this flight, great to see Pilatus auto de-ice automation kick in. Do you think auto-throttle disconnects were due to heavy crosswind effect on engines? Cool to hear how the guy who instructed you to fly decades ago is now the flight instructor for your flying school.
Hey Tommy, that was sharp. The PC-24 was tough through it all. I gotta get used to the turbulence. And I will absolutely. Very very nice. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!
Wow 202 knots at 5 to 6000 ft per minute. That’s gotta feel great. I used to love flying with my dad. He enjoyed having a little fun every once in a while. My fastest kick in the seat of the pants was in a Baron twin turbo prop. You could really feel yourself being pressed back into the seat and what a thrill of a ride. I enjoy watching your videos. They remind me of my dad.
@@PlaneJunkies The calmness you always show in your videos was so well represented by the way you handled that brutal turbulence - slowing the 24 down reminded me of how important manuevering speed is when encountering turbulence, no matter what type of airplane you're flying. Thanks so much.
Wow that turbulence was pretty intense, but you guys handled it like a champ 👍😆 Beautiful views of the mountains in the valley. The story of your co pilot was really cool. As always thanks for bringing us along with you guys.
That was quite interesting. Thanks for taking us on the ride.dang those bumps on approach looked legit moderate-severe. I really enjoyed the cockpit tour w explanations. De-ice mode was sick. Dude you have serious skills.
Just subscribed from salt lake also watch blanco, premier, citations and a few others really thought out of all I thought cool your just a neighboring city away. In fact a common route I travel at big time land speed shhh mostly nites. semi..lol I'll looking out for your post and most likely check out your past events.. keep it rockin.. Rob.
Appreciate the tutorial on your avionics !!! This helps me on my MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMM better understand what the heck is happening. I like to set up for ILS and fly into ( VGT ) 4-5 HRS everyday! Bam 💥….lol
Always appreciate and enjoy the vlogs! 🛩️ 🙌🏼 P.S. Have you flown up to Alaska or does your company fly that far north? More specific, the Fairbanks or Anchorage airports in the summer months. Cheers to 2023! :)
Tommy I collect Hats.... Love to put an Air Smart hat in my vast collection (37 so far ) collected from many, many airshows etc.,.......... how can I add your Co. hat to the rack ? Always nice to ride along Thank You,.. see ya at Reno !🤗👍👍👍.
What a plane, climbs like an F15. What a great invention that synthetic vision is. **Thank you for not using any music** This is a big deal as I see so many other videos with this content ruined with music. Nice to hear the background noises. Amazing content totally subbed!! Can I ask a question - this plane is designed for use on rough fields. With that in mind why not go for high wing design? The low set wing is so close to ground and more prone to damage from gravel/stones/mud? Sorry if its stupid question!
Not a stupid question. You can attach a deflector just behind the nose gear to stop debris from hitting the bottom of the fuselage on an unpaved runway. The main gear are set far enough back that the wings are not effected by debris.
I am fascinated by the Pilatus range of aircraft (PC-12/24) . How long would it take to attain a full licence to fly one of these craft from scratch ? I am a semi retired ER doc . It is my as yet unaccomplished dream .
Hi Tommy, quick question. With the single point, do you ever have trouble getting a “top off” 5,964lbs (888 gallons)? Ever have to use the over wing ports to get a proper top off?
If you would have had customers on board would you have requested different routing or done anything else differently to avoid/reduce the mod/severe turbulence?
wasn't aware of the report till approach told us last min about it so I couldn't plan for it . But I was able to notify our other pc12 to take the southern route that was behind me . and they got in with out any issues
Great video, that PC-24 have a wealth of information , thanks for sharing. Was the auto throttle disconnecting immediately after the switch engagement?
Tommy, just wondering if offered a intersection take off can you do it or company policy says no can do. Say you have 7000 ft left to use on a 10,000 ft runway..pilots choice??
I know you have weather radar and ADS B paints other aircraft but what about additional layers of object data. If atc paints an object, why cannot that datam be linked to your aircraft?
I’ve been they some heavy in a pc-12 but . When in it just have to fly the plane as best u can to get out of it . I’d say it was during a winter storm leaving mammoth . Lots of wind shear
If you're asking about the types of fluid used, de-icing is Type 1, heated to roughly 180 degrees and used to remove all contaminants. Type 4 is used when precipitation is falling and aids in shedding that precip during taxi and takeoff.
Anti ice is like electrically heated prop blades or a heated windshield. It can also be a heated wing from bleed air. De ice can be pneumatic boots on wings.
I hope you guys are not fully vaccinated and boosted,I heard a lot of pilots are having mild symptoms of heart attack while flying, specially being in a thin air environment.
Fantastic ✈️ Glad to see you back in the 24. You are one of the most professional private pilots on RUclips. Thank you for your videos sir.
Great video as always. FO seems great lol, would be nice to see him more on the channel.
21:35 looked like you questioned yourself whether you were keyed when ATC responded 'no I don't think so.' Perfect timing.
I noticed that too because ATC's response and timing were right on I would have wondered too!
More flight videos please Tommy. Wonderful story about your dad and the FO. That turbulence looked pretty rough 😅
Will do!
I'm going to see to it that every major news channel in the U.S., interviews you on-air. You are a great Ambassador for Aviation, and every kid in America should know your name.
👍☑ Cool back story Tommy, great to have someone from your past in the right seat! Tks
Bravo..! Another perfect landing..! ✈ Thank you for sharing. Never disappointed. 🤗👍
Landing was bleh haa haa
You make that flying look so easy. Thanks for the ride.
Fun seeing you working the displays and talking about some of the features… The visual cue was something new I learned! Thanks for a good flight!
Thanks

Nah just a bit sticky they replaced the unit :)
Man, I love this channel! I subscribe to many aviation feeds, but this one is special. Seems so much more personal. Thanks!

Nice flight...with your flight instructor in the right seat...cloudy, bumpy ride, 24 handles really well...thx
It does well
Another great video and flight Tommy. Bit bumpy on the way down. But all good. The PC24 is so futuristic. Reminds me of something out Star Trek, lol.
Thank you
Awesome flight good to see you again
Thanks again!
Love this content. Keep the videos rolling...errr.. flying in!
Thanks for the ride. Yes looking forward to your heli training.
Great to see you videoing/flying again Tommy. Always enjoy your flights, but that turbulence was brutal. Be safe!

Another awesome video Tommy, thanks!
Loved the ride, and the stories!
Hey Tommy, great video thanks for that explanation on your instrument panel on what your seeing and what is actually happening to the plane.
Any time
Great video, I like how you explain the system, keep on with the excellent video…flying a PC24 myself on the Canadian east coast…
nice!
There is always turbulence when you pass through clouds. Sweet landing 👏👏
Another great ride, always learn something new, and to think you are right here in NLV, my hometown. Truly look forward to both of your channels.
Right on!
Thank you for sharing... Looking very nice..
Great video as always Tommy - especially nice to be flying with your old flight instructor, great story how he was hired by your Dad 😊
Superb PIC flying a wonderful Jet.

Great job! Awesome video Tommy!!!!
Thanks Tory lol
That was some awesome climb performance out of Reno 🔥
Cool story about flying with your dad, and your First Officer! Thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video! Enjoyed the closeups of the avionics, and some narratives of their function, to get a feel for the Honeywell interface and functionality.
Glad you enjoyed it
Congratulations guys
Great flight and chat Tommy, very informative.
Thank you
Hey Tommy, glad to see this flight. Looking forward to more content.
Hey, thanks
Watching from Australia. Snow. We can go to the snow in winter, it doesn’t come to us!
Just started watching your channel and I really like it! 👍🏻
Thank you
Good to now what the white and blue balls in the cockpit are for. As I've wondered about them too. 👍
We always enjoy it buddy, thank you a lot!!
Thanks for the ride along captain.

That bird is a literal rocket ship. Super cool.
yes it is lol
The one big thing I took away from this video was just how cool you are. Seen! 😉
Haa haa lol thanks
We're getting that rain in Tucson. Not supposed to clear up until Tuesday.
Love ur vlogs, I wish I could have a ride in that beautiful flying machine

Thanks Tommy…. You guys do good work! See you next time!
Great vid. Thank you 👍
Tommy , why were the auto throttles barking so much.? Looked like a fun flight .. BOUNCY !
when it fails off line it gives you a warning
Thanks for another video

When you do a battery start…are you able to do a generator assisted start on the second engine or do both have to start from the battery? Thanks!
Yup for sure all gens at that point

high wing jets are not common

Clarity aloft
Nice flight.
Thanks 👍
I thought some of the controllers talked fast, Tommie is faster then any Mecum auto auctioneer geesh.
Haa haa lol
Why are you taxi so fast ?
I wanna go home lol

Haa I try
Hi Tommy,do you tell ground crew before every engine start?
Hi Tommy, quick question. With the single point, do you ever have trouble getting a “top off” 5,964lbs (888 gallons)? Ever have to use the over wing ports to get a proper top off?
Nope it tops off well .
@@PlaneJunkies good to know. Thanks!
If you would have had customers on board would you have requested different routing or done anything else differently to avoid/reduce the mod/severe turbulence?
have taken a route south of town
@@PlaneJunkies you would have requested that in flight or filed differently? BTW…thank you for answering!
wasn't aware of the report till approach told us last min about it so I couldn't plan for it . But I was able to notify our other pc12 to take the southern route that was behind me . and they got in with out any issues
Looking to purchase a PC 24 if there was any optional accessory that you would have on the aircraft, what would it be?
Did you increase your ROC to get above the turbulence? Also why were you getting an auto throttle warning? I love the avionics package.
ya try to get on top quicker . auto-throttle was having a issue it got replace
I like the "Goldstrike" call sign better.
Ya but doesn’t help promote the company at all
Gold strike is our mx department .
@@PlaneJunkies Funny you say that. Thats probably why I like the call sign. (32 years in Aircraft mx here).
Great video, that PC-24 have a wealth of information , thanks for sharing.
Was the auto throttle disconnecting immediately after the switch engagement?
Yes it was a few times
How many hours did you have before your first jet time
1000hr then I started flying at the regional jets
Tommy, just wondering if offered a intersection take off can you do it or company policy says no can do. Say you have 7000 ft left to use on a 10,000 ft runway..pilots choice??
If performance allows it yes no problem
Enjoyed!
I know you have weather radar and ADS B paints other aircraft but what about additional layers of object data. If atc paints an object, why cannot that datam be linked to your aircraft?
it might be overload on the system it will paint and show targets of threat
If I change the tcas to above and below it will paint all
Is the PC24 fly by wire?
Nope . But the thrust levers are
Where was the first time you encountered really bad turbulence? And what were you flying?
I’ve been they some heavy in a pc-12 but . When in it just have to fly the plane as best u can to get out of it . I’d say it was during a winter storm leaving mammoth . Lots of wind shear
Hello.. explain de icing and anti icing, what are they and how do they work in one of your videos😊🍻

What's your typical Mach Cruise? I see you were at .63 most of this flight. That was pretty slow 🐌 🙂
.72 is normally cruise
I hope you guys are not fully vaccinated and boosted,I heard a lot of pilots are having mild symptoms of heart attack while flying, specially being in a thin air environment.
