As I look back at Nancy's performances I can see that they are actually much better than Tonya and Oksana. Nancy was the perfect balance of athleticism and grace. Also she had a much better figure than Tonya and Oksana. Tall, straight, excellent proportion. It is called "figure skating" for a reason, not just they figures they draw.

tonya had so much potential but her coaches wasted it to bad music and poor coreography but nancy was great in this program for a change. skating isn't just about axels and lutz', it is also about dance and coreography.
Tonya was actually ahead of the game. She was made for the pros because of her more unconventional music and programs and risk later in her amateur career.
Jmsessn then you probably should watch Shizuka’s skating before 2003. When Shizuka’s was skating, she was so stiff and awkward, so you’d might want to compare it to Nancy in who’s the most stiff skater. Frankly I don’t find Nancy to be that stiff nor boring. You haven’t seen other boring figure skaters , have you not? Nancy has a different way of interpreting to the music while Tonya’s all about the jumps.

I could identify with nancy since she looks similar to me and I have a relative who hates me who looks similar to tanya short and chunky. This was a sad story with people mocking nancy calling her a cry baby for being hit in the knees. very sad

She was 'OK"...She always thought she was better than everyone else. Stuck up attitude! She had no spunk and very boring. I use to flip the channel when she came on then come back when she was done because she was boring.
Technically speaking she was superb but she never looked natural. She looks overdone and trying to hard. But it wasn't bad. It's was good. Nothing remarkable.

5 of the 4 judges who marked Oksana 1st, were from former Soviet or communist countries. The real crime and joke was that Oksana bombed technically but still finished top 2, but Lu Chen and Yuka Sato were miles ahead of Oksana in the free skate.
