We saw the round and pale face, the pale blues and purples, the grunge look, the disco era, the iconic Biba style, etc. Even present day, it wasn't until only a few years ago that contouring and highlighting started being sensationalized.
Health and youth are two beauty "styles" that are universal and timeless. Everything else comes and goes. :) Wear sunscreen and take care of your skin, and have fun with the rest!
Yea...whenever I get braid extensions on my hair, I always make sure I pick the blackest hair and then do a cat eye liner and it looks so simple but fierce...and turns heads too lol....can't wait to put twists back this summer...whoohoo

They kind of did it badly... I saw a real geisha do this makeup and it was beautiful ! Just look at the ancient egyptian, I'm totally in love with this kind of look but it was so bad in this video !
Please go and look up actual, real geishas! They have so much grace and beauty, it is stunning! This makeup artist unfortunately did not do a good job at her makeup.
victorian is so the best, also their clothes were amazing i own a few victorian corsets and dresses i love them theyre so gorgeous and amazing i dont get why we cant still dress like that come on people top hats are awesome haha

Iam an Indian and it really sucks to be in a place like this where we cannot do much about our skin color. Getting yourself tanned when you're pale is pretty easy but the opposite is nearly impossible when you are dark skinned. Come to India if you want people to always compliment you as beautiful just cause you're pale :P

Egyptian women and men often shaved their head and wore wigs to keep lice at bay. Some of the wigs included things like scented wax (or was it grease?) that would melt slowly in the sun to perfume them as well. When your country can get up to 120 degrees in the summer and you have no AC body odor can be a problem.
Kudos to buzzfeed for having a brown girl as the Egyptian model. She is an on fleek representation of what an ancient Egyptian woman from the original kingdoms would have looked like.

I mean , thick eyebrows were a sign to be manly in the early 90s , but look at us now ?
