I don't want LFC taking a single penny out of our transfer budget to bring in players for positions we're overloaded in at the detriment of positions we need to fill. If we want these players AFTER strengthening, do it then, not before, or instead of.
I politely disagree with your proposed justification of the Williams deal.The other players don't care about amortisation or transfer fee savings or potential. All they care about is bottom line. 21 year old comes into club and earns TWICE what world cup winner Alexis MacAllister earns. We could go through the whole squad and talk about how he would earn not more than but multiples of what the other players earn. Do you think this could cause some resentment? Imagine he didnt hit the ground like a world beater. Maybe a queue at Slot's door?

LFC will not break their wage structure for Williams. Absolutely 100% guarantee. As much as I would love to see him at Anfield, he would have to take a massive pay cut. What makes it worse is that we are trying to negotiate with 3 of our best players for new contracts. If there was ever a time we would break the wage structure, now would be the least likely time we would do it.
We really missed on calafiori. Man even Arsenal are beating us on such a defender who can play left back centre back and dm position. We needed this left footed Gomez😢.
Like I've been saying the whole time we will loose out to Man United and Chelsea to potential transfer targets they are not even playing champions league football but they will get better players then us.

What saddened me the most is calafiori was 50 mill which is like standard price target for Richard and Edward still they didn't pursue this dynamic player. Nico is a great player, but we are pretty well stocked in attack, especially LW, so even if we sell Diaz, do we really need another LW that will earn more than anyone in the squad besides Salah? It's likely that it will cause more issues rather than offer solutions.
We need at least one strong CB and a very strong CDM, every other position we don't really need to strengthen unless we sell and if we do sell, we need to be strategic as well. I understand that if we are able to get Rodrygo from Real to pay him around 300k a week, that would be reasonable and probably not cause an uproar among the other players we have since he is a proven winner, one of the best in his position and played for the biggest club in the world, but getting 21-year old Nico Williams from Bilbao and making him the 2nd highest earner in the squad.. that's not right.

Signing Williams will mean Gakpo again can’t play on his favourite position. It doesn’t make sense when you have Diaz and Gakpo already on that position.

One of the biggest shortcomings last season, especially in the last 8-10 games was that our striker didn't score. They kept missing big chances. We shouldn't just hope that the same guys all of a sudden become amazing goal scorers. We need one striker whose main job is putting the ball in the back of the net. Diaz is good at dribbling, Darwin has pace, Jota is injured a lot. We need a consistent goalscorer

Hughes basically said today that we won't start talking to players until after the euros and copa America. Slot also indicated we won't be signing for positions we have cover in as he wants to get to know the players we already have. Most likely we will get a CDM, CB and a LB in August. If we are lucky maybe a RW as well.
We need some three £50 million plus signings. Only way Nico will arrive is if we sell Diaz or even Salah. It's time to spend big money now, the clock is ticking. I feel that we'll be pulling some rabbits out of the hat. Agree with Craig that Chiesa is not a priority at the moment. Would take him only if other options have been exhausted, he would be a bonus siding if anything at all. I am not a great fan of Italian players at all and never have been. Just look at the boring brand of Football their national team plays!
