SpagBrethren I'm not sure why that's relevant? Unless you're saying that Radiohead are bad, but then why are you here? Also I have to disagree with Dream Theater, they've done some real masterpieces in their career (although I'll agree to some very major blips)
SpagBrethren i cant fucking stand dream theater. i'm a music nerd, but in high school i got seriously sick of people at the local music shop being all "OMFG well of course dream theater dream theater DREAM THEATER"
It is a tricky/complicated song. But colin always stays at the back with phil when there performing life. I read somewhere that it's so Colin can keep an eye on Johnny. A promise he made to there mother..... Or something along them lines! Ha.
Quite possibly the greatest live performance of the 90s. They hit this to perfection. The Foo Fighters were playing on Jools that night. David Grohl said he experienced music revolution in real time watching this performance.
A masterpiece of music history. Radiohead should be proud of.themselves. Thar they've created / composed one of the most brilliant musical pieces in the history of rock music and offcourse one of my personal TOP 5 all time songs.
I remember seeing this on telly, as an ice breaker for the O.K. Tour I think. Never been so knocked out by a track at the first listen. Went out the next day and bought the album. Brilliant.....Totally brilliant !
Creep was the first song that I ever like don my own volition back in 1992. I was 9 years old, crazy how long Radiohead has been around and crazy how they keep on creating beautiful music.
Can remember getting all excited about watching this. Radiohead were so desperately needed and important back then. This must've been '97, obviously promoting 'OK Computer'. And, no doubt, I wasn't the only one, getting fed up with the Oasis-movement, and all those samey bands, and all those omnipresent samey haircuts, and the pretentious, laddish, well-'ard swagger, and watching arrogant singers struggling to belt out songs of utter futility, yet announcing to the world, that the songs are the best ever, and none of that 'student shite'... Yeah, granted, some great songs came out of Oasis etc, in the earlier days, and I bought their earlier albums, but, for me, it had all got so tedious, and had become a joke... BUT, then, thankfully, Radiohead decided to cut right through the lot with more excellent, emotive songs. ' The Bends' and 'OK Computer' were a much-needed and necessary breath of fresh and important air... And 'Pablo Honey' was a better debut / album than many claimed... '97? Where did the 17 years go? I'm scared.
I'm a 16 year old girl. Just letting you all know that I wouldn't go anywhere near anything in the charts because why would you even want to when this mother fucking brilliance exists. (Just clearing some stuff up for all the kids in my generation who aren't completely brainwashed)
I am a 17 year old guy but you know age doesn't matter and music taste is a choice. I also used to sound pretentious, now I kinda regret it, though it's great we share similar views inside and listen to Radiohead.
Wow that was an incredibly performance, just nailed it in every way. I don't even know what the Jools Holland show is but bands seem to kick ass when they're on here.
What's amazing about this performance is the idea that after nearly 2 decades it still pulls you into an adventure, where you can watch a live performance and be stunned but at the same time let it paint a collage of emotions and times past and imagined, cinematically onto that canvass between the screen and your eyes. Love it!!!
+Lorraine Yang I heard Johnny Greenwood single handedly kept guitar-string factories from closing down through the recession due to his abuse of strings..
As a guitar player, your job is to accentuate the song in the best way that you know how. Since this song was released in 1997, Johnny Greenwood has done this task better than any guitar player i'm currently aware of, could have possibly done.Prove me wrong youtube.
Why don't we make a comparison? Radiohead are widely recognised as one of the greatest bands of all time with Ed, Jonny and Thom voted among the greatest guitarists and singers ever. They have sold more than 30 million critically acclaimed records and have millions of fans all over the world who love them very much.
agree entirely, also when you get to the Radiohead end of RUclips you get intelligent comments as well. I remember this performance absolutely blowing me away when I first saw it on Jools Holland.
From the heart, thanks for this video. For many years, it's been difficult to love live bands as, being a fan of Pink Floyd, I've been spoilt somewhat and not really seen anything that can rock my cockles, float my boat or tickle my turtles! :) I've loved paranoid android for years, but watching em play it live is wonderful. It's a shame, for me, that they didn't delve into the music more and stretch it out longer to be more like Animals, which this song happily sits alongside. Praise indeed
One of the best songs ever written and one of the best performances ever. Also alot of people don't know that this song also has a humorous side to it this song is about paranoid android out of the book hitch hikers guide to the galaxy :)
Phenomenal performance , of an incredible song . Beethoven was one of the geniuses of classical music , and Radiohead is one of the geniuses of todays music. This performance transcends space and time , 100 years from now , listening to this performance will still inspire , and captivate the listener .
I remember watching this video years ago, and I still remember what I loved about it. Jonny's crazy ass guitar solo and Thom wearing those ugly 90s sunglasses indoors lmao.
They already have made it in the music industry. OK Computer is widely regarded as the greatest album of all time (by those who don't dwell on the classics and have their top 10 composed entirely of the Beatles and Beach Boys). All 7 of their albums are absolutely golden.
Do you think that after they finished writing and recording this track, after they finished mixing and mastering, they all sat down to listen and make sure there were no kinks, and when it was over, they all looked at eachother with a look that said "That's it, we've made history. We've left a huge, undeniable, indelible mark on music and art forever."? I bet they did.
Jonny Greenwood probably played the greatest guitar solo of all time. He is a brilliant guitarist.
Some of his solos seem so simple but I’ve gone crazy trying to play them myself
This song would be way ahead of its time even if it was released today
CJ Mooney LOL
CJ Mooney This song is timeless my friend. That said, of course I share your amazement and respect for these artists.
CJ Mooney what are you even talking about?
Words can't describe how talented these guys are
Yes they can. Watch.
"They have above average playing ability"
See, I have described their playing ability. :P
playingforbritain
Technicality =/= talent. For example, Dream Theatre are talentless hacks
SpagBrethren I'm not sure why that's relevant? Unless you're saying that Radiohead are bad, but then why are you here? Also I have to disagree with Dream Theater, they've done some real masterpieces in their career (although I'll agree to some very major blips)
SpagBrethren i cant fucking stand dream theater. i'm a music nerd, but in high school i got seriously sick of people at the local music shop being all "OMFG well of course dream theater dream theater DREAM THEATER"
nutsackmania Well then... good for you?
You have to be a genius to came up with a song like this.
@glencosby1090an insane maniac to
The "Rain Down" part just sounds absolutely amazing here. I can just feel the raw emotion resonating from my speakers every time I hear it.
I agree. This is amazing.
Jonny Greenwood is one of the best and most creative guitarists ever.
You can tell its a tricky/complicated song when the bass player is stood at the back with the drummer. That's the rhythm section really concentrating
It is a tricky/complicated song. But colin always stays at the back with phil when there performing life. I read somewhere that it's so Colin can keep an eye on Johnny. A promise he made to there mother..... Or something along them lines! Ha.
@@thejo11ypotteryeah that’s actually true!
One of the greatest albums of all time.
Only Johnny Greenwood could play a manic solo then fade in to playing keys so calmly like that.
Perfect live performance of the perfect song from a perfect album by a perfect band..
Quite possibly the greatest live performance of the 90s. They hit this to perfection. The Foo Fighters were playing on Jools that night.
David Grohl said he experienced music revolution in real time watching this performance.
it's so damn clear it's almost impossible to believe it was live. Excellent clarity!!
A masterpiece of music history. Radiohead should be proud of.themselves. Thar they've created / composed one of the most brilliant musical pieces in the history of rock music and offcourse one of my personal TOP 5 all time songs.
Right there with The Beatles and Pink Floyd. Absolute perfection
This has gotta be close to the perfect song hasn't it? Fantastic legendary version.
I remember seeing this on telly, as an ice breaker for the O.K. Tour I think. Never been so knocked out by a track at the first listen. Went out the next day and bought the album. Brilliant.....Totally brilliant !
Jonnys guitar bits make this song what it is. This was a next level performance.
Greatest album of all time. Greatest song of the 90's. This is one of my favorite performances of it, that guitar sound is just phenomenal.
seriously fantastic music structures and creativity....
I wouldn't like to have been 'next up' after that I must say. Jeez!
100% goose bumps......forgot just how awesome these guys are!!!
Its got to be my all time favourite live song, they are just gods
agree , got the goosebumps too :´)
This is by far. The. Greatest. Song. Of. All. Time.
Remember watching this on TV like it was yesterday. Riveted to the screen. Landmark album of 1997.
Creep was the first song that I ever like don my own volition back in 1992. I was 9 years old, crazy how long Radiohead has been around and crazy how they keep on creating beautiful music.
Incredible performance!
" Click on HQ and enjoy"..
*Ba-dum tssss*

What a fucking song. Blew my mind in 1997 and still blows my mind to this day. A perfect band.
so fucking sick even all these years later
Seeing this for the first time was the most memorable and formative musical experience of my life... I knew then Radiohead were no ordinary band....
Incredible performance of this amazing song!!!!!!!...... Well, actually the good adjetives aren't enough for this.... this song have all!
I'm a 16 year old girl. Just letting you all know that I wouldn't go anywhere near anything in the charts because why would you even want to when this mother fucking brilliance exists. (Just clearing some stuff up for all the kids in my generation who aren't completely brainwashed)
Uh okay. Good for you.
Yes !! Atleast we saved one !! :D !
I am a 17 year old guy but you know age doesn't matter and music taste is a choice. I also used to sound pretentious, now I kinda regret it, though it's great we share similar views inside and listen to Radiohead.
I mean Radiohead would/will hit the charts if/when they make another huge record.
+JimbobVlogs PAPA FRANKU
Best studio performance of any one anywhere at anytime. These lads were put on this planet for this reason, to play brilliant music.
what a great performance
Wow that was an incredibly performance, just nailed it in every way. I don't even know what the Jools Holland show is but bands seem to kick ass when they're on here.
All around amazing performance.
when i first heard this song so long ago i never thought it could be played so well live
this performance just always blows my mind
The stuff Jonny Greenwood can do with a guitar impresses me to no end.
What an absolutely electrifying performance! If you love '90s indie-rock, this is profoundly epic"
What's amazing about this performance is the idea that after nearly 2 decades it still pulls you into an adventure, where you can watch a live performance and be stunned but at the same time let it paint a collage of emotions and times past and imagined, cinematically onto that canvass between the screen and your eyes. How has Jonny's guitar not exploded by now?
+Micah Buzan I've seen his strings break in concert before. I can't recall which gig it was, but the strings on the guitar did give out...
+Lorraine Yang I heard Johnny Greenwood single handedly kept guitar-string factories from closing down through the recession due to his abuse of strings..
He's been using that exact guitar for like 20 years That's one well made product!
+Lorraine Yang No Surprises when he bends the shit out them, especially that 3 inch bend in The Bends he does.
Absolutely incredible.
Thom's screams during the last solo were awesome!!!
As a guitar player, your job is to accentuate the song in the best way that you know how. Since this song was released in 1997, Johnny Greenwood has done this task better than any guitar player i'm currently aware of, could have possibly done.Prove me wrong youtube.
remember watching this as a teenager thinking music could not go further or get better,15 years later it turns out i was right.fuckin phenomenal!
jonny greenwood jumping from electric guitar to keyboard back to guitar as well as hitting the pedals=epic. legend.
out of this world!
truly amazing, radiohead are one of the only bands that sound as perfect live as they do on their albums
Why don't we make a comparison? Radiohead are widely recognised as one of the greatest bands of all time with Ed, Jonny and Thom voted among the greatest guitarists and singers ever. They have sold more than 30 million critically acclaimed records and have millions of fans all over the world who love them very much.
I second the guy that said whoever was in charge of sound at this concert is a bloody genius. Amazingly well mixed.
One of the best bands, i dont care what anyone else thinks! They are .
Stunning song.
Thanks so much for uploading this - I think it's my favourite performance of Paranoid Android, fuck me that was beautiful
agree entirely, also when you get to the Radiohead end of RUclips you get intelligent comments as well.
I remember this performance absolutely blowing me away when I first saw it on Jools Holland.
Might be the most beautiful, most perfect song ever.
From the heart, thanks for this video. For many years, it's been difficult to love live bands as, being a fan of Pink Floyd, I've been spoilt somewhat and not really seen anything that can rock my cockles, float my boat or tickle my turtles! :)

This is the song that you never forget ...
Sublime.

I always end up lying helpless on the floor after watching this. It just rips my soul wide open.

You definitely love radiohead
roger brown Yeah. I think ok computer is the best record ever produced. I have worn the grooves on it.
MrDirtBaggins I couldn't agree more, what other artists do you like
The Beatles , Cheap Trick , Led Zeppelin , Foo Fighters , Neil Young , Cat Stevens.... to name a few
MrGlobuler you;ve named a lot of great bands in your comment Green Day , Nirvana ,and Muse 3 other bands I enjoy listening to
I remember watching this video years ago, and I still remember what I loved about it.
Jonny's crazy ass guitar solo and Thom wearing those ugly 90s sunglasses indoors lmao.
Best Creative band since The Beatles,Radiohead was the saviour of 90s music.
You forget how majestic his voice was. Can't believe I saw them on this tour.... I didn't realise how lucky I was at the time!
+Marc Skeldon Me too, saw them at Wembley that year, incredible gig.
Exquisite. How can any band sound so perfect live?
Simply superb. Outstanding.
They already have made it in the music industry.
OK Computer is widely regarded as the greatest album of all time (by those who don't dwell on the classics and have their top 10 composed entirely of the Beatles and Beach Boys).
All 7 of their albums are absolutely golden.
Reminds me of being on tour in 97, hearing this album for the first time and pretty much saying forget it...all music is done being written
Holy Shit, been a fan from the start and that shit is tight... Epic
Mind Blown, gotta see em once more.
couldn't have expected a better performance :')
Wow. Classic performance of a modern rock classic.
best band in the world
Holy Fuck. All these years later and that is still medical grade awesome! I need to play that on a bigger stereo.
@2:00, Colin's been doing this sweet bass riff for 16 years and I don't think he gets tired of it!
That bit towards the end where Ed takes over Yorke's vocals is brilliant
Yes, one of the geniuses of todays music Roger!
Best performance of this song
Thid really is the best song ever made. Also the guitar on this version is haunting almost sitar like!
I was there.
It was the first time they played this, 1996?, I got head tingles..
The greatest band in our times, no doubt about it
i love this video cause the second half of the solo you can see jonnys facial expressions which you normally can't!
That is so tight, so fuckin winning, massive wowsers... #radioheadforlife
Man i just love the crowds reaction at the end, they just know that they have witnessed something special, lucky bastards lol.....
A very accomplished performance - I predict that this band will become very successful.
Truly, I can't believe the lack of likes for this incredible performance.
Listen up kids: This is STILL relevant.
Such a piece of art!
Do you think that after they finished writing and recording this track, after they finished mixing and mastering, they all sat down to listen and make sure there were no kinks, and when it was over, they all looked at eachother with a look that said "That's it, we've made history.
