Wish they kept the outro on the album 😔
And it would be a nice transistion to subterranean homesick alien
i'll never forgive radiohead for changing the outro
This transitioning period between the Bends and OK Computer was probably the most inspired period they went though. They had so many great ideas during this period, so many of them lost and left behind as they couldn’t make the cut for OK computer.
@BeTheDeathOfMe Hmmm I would have to say OK computer was the pinnacle for me, and the peak lasted until 2001. That period between 1997-2001 was absolute musical perfection. I do like the bends and that EP, it’s fantastic, but OK computer was where they really came into their own.
Funny, cause even when OKC came out, people forget, a lot of my friends who saw them with me on the bends tour (1995?) were supremely disappointed outside of Paranoid and Exit Music.
But I’m with you.... (cept Kid A is my pinnacle) in my mind The Romeo and Juliet OST, (had “Talk show host” and “exit music” on it, which absolutely broke my heart in the best way) OKC, meeting people is easy, The OKC b sides, (Pearly, Polyethylene pts 1&2, Palo Alto) and Kid A/Amnesiac form one musical journey in my mind. It’s one of the most incredible arcs any band has gone through.
The performance of Idioteque on SNL shortly before Kid A was released is the epitome of my ... total adoration of the band. (It’s on Vimeo but not RUclips)
I keep up with what they’re doing now and enjoy it, (especially ANIMA) and see them live, but ESPECIALLY live, from 1996-2001, they were like. Aliens had just landed, but they were a band. It’s hard to articulate just how special it was to see them in a small theater on the OKC tour - like, I could’ve reached up and touched Thom’s shoe I was front and center - it was an indescribable experience.
The band had a terrible time too. They started, stopped, and walked off. First Thom then slowly the band followed. After five minutes they came back, Thom said “sorry, we’ve had our pills we’ll behave now” and proceeded to perform the best live show I’ve ever, or will ever see.
uh, Kid A, Amnesiac, HTTT ?
@@RustinChole Wow sounds incredible. Thanks for sharing. I'm only 22 and I havenn't had the opportunity to see them yet, but I'm hoping they'll do a substantial tour following the next album so I will be able to get a ticket.
As for your analysis in the first paragraph, I agree 100%. There's something about the work between 1997-2001 that resonates with me so profoundly on a personal level. I've never listened to music that has such an effect on me, and I don't think I ever will.
@@vilaincfilms6355 I would say their creative peak continued into 2001, which envelopes Kid A and Amnesiac.
Thom makes that riff look so easy, singing on top of it and strumming so smoothly
doesnt he? such an underrated performer in my opinion it took me hours of practice to learn Thoms part and i still fuck it up whenever i try play it start to finish
This and Street Spirit. Both are extremely hard to sing and play at the same time.
and on top of that he wrote it as well.
@841ONUR Honestly I feel like Street Spirit is one of the easier ones, it's the only song I've managed to both play and sing at the same time somewhat coherently lol
This feels like a lost media.
THE OUTRO IS INSANE
FRRR I WILL NOT FORGIVE RADIOHEAD FOR CHANGING THE OUTRO🙏😭
4:46 so weird, but so good
Yeah
Love the lofi vaporwave vibes. It's as if this was recorded live 28 years ago.
Lmao
that outro (4:46) in this version is on another level of melancholy, which i like it better than the album/finished version.
No se inglés pero tiene razón que esta mejor que la versión final 🤎
@debunker as I'd like to hear it too
The outro is so good and fits the song better than the outro they went with. It feels optimistic, dreadful, disrealized, and pent up. While the outro in the official release just seems to show the frustration of the song and not the rest of the picture. Both are good though.
I do love it but I definitely think what they went with makes way more sense. To have a slow middle section just go into another slow bit to end it off is odd and the transition between riffs or sections or whatever just felt wrong. Again I absolutely adore this outro, it's beautiful, but I get what they did.
@@smarkmalark idk if its just me but the organ is the cherry on top of the outro 😫
I just wish they had recorded both versions in studio
This one’s optimistic, this one went to market
Fr
that outro is heavenly
May be the best song in the world…
I agree one of my favorites:) I love playing the “what’s thereeee” riff on guitar
@@Zamn_daniel right? Such a loop...
4:46
Love this ending. The chorus of the first part is my favorite part of the song
Still sounds pretty interesting in June 2024.
This version is so much more haunting and it sounds absolutely incredible
There was an alternate cut of Bohemian Rhapsody where it immediately transitioned from Brian May's guitar solo to the final ballad section, skipping the interim. I kinda feel like we're living in a similar alternate reality with our version of Paranoid Android, with the prog-rock ending snipped off.
from a great hallelujah
From a great height dumbass
@@The_Scandalous_Artist 4:35 LOL
@The_Scandalous_Artist who's the dumbass now, dumbass? 😂
@@The_Scandalous_Artist Toxic lowlife. At least be right when you're gonna be dick.
4:46 I really inspired by this part and I will COVER It . Idk why they change it but I know they got a lot of ideas back then . it still One of their masterpiece part. Thankyou Radiohead.
Please do!
The last part from 4:46 to the end is that unique masterpiece of performance which gives me a goosebump over the whole body every single time I hear it.
exactly. this is why i keep listening to the early version.. it’s so good
my favorite version of this song.
Whoever runs this account is getting hecka views from me 😂
4:35 to the end is my favorite radiohead music ever
Best version no doubt
for some reason i love it when thom introduces the song; "that songs for people who think theyre stars, and so is this" maybe its his pommy accent and how i always mimic it when i hear him talk 😅😅
If they release it like this it’s maybe the greatest song of all time
4:33 damn Thom, just beautiful
Jesus
What a live masterpiece
Unparalleled... really...hands down
It's almost like a spiritual experience
I kinda like it when a song is still a bit rough around the edges
i remember the winmx times when finding those vids from japanese exclusive servers was an unique experience... im pretty sure that there is lost media from radiohead but most of the important is here... thanks internet..
that organ
It's so interesting to hear what was in place before "that's it sir, you're leaving".
I think I prefer this version
The lil riff at 2:38 tho
thank god they changed it

@@umutberkgunnebioglu5839 🤣😆🤣😆
the spooky Halloween riff
I think that the final in this version is much better than the original

SO dense
You two are dumb his opinion is fine
@@joaogomes1332 wdym normie? i think you'd have to be pretty into Radiohead just to even know about this version
@@bluedesks6629 you Right when i posted this 1 year ago i was a bit silly
My favourite song in the world
Thanks for posting! Best band ever.....loved hearing his intro...

what
@@sepi_ the best part
Love the drums on this. Straight up sounds like a Bill withers break that Portishead would’ve sampled.
I wish I could be there
great outro , better than the actual one, also the drums are way better ,natural.
What makes them more natural here? They didn't use a drum machine on this song, and Phil is sort of still playing the same part just with different placement since the structures different
it’s so cool hearing how different it is from the album track, i still prefer the album track but i love the sloppiness and freshness of the song
So goood it just might be my favorite song all time, definitely better than bohemian rhapsody by a mile
Bagian outro itu "hauntingly beautiful". Keren parah. Lumayan beda dari versi ori, keduanya bagus, tapi versi ini kayak jembatan era OKC dan KID A. From 'majestic progresif sound' to 'eerie experimental sound'.
This is fucking mint 😉 great post my man 👍
I've been looking for o good version of the original and I finally found one!. The others I've saved but they keep on getting deleted idk why?.
3:18
Better than the latest version
Shit this is the minidisc recording🤯
its pretty similar but its not the same performance
Where exactly ?
wait i found it. its track number 52. (11-1)
This sounds like early muse.
Early Muse was probably inspired by this. Their first album came out in 1999.
Early muse sounds like then
Muse's entire sound is just the song Pearly by Radiohead
@@sleepified981pearly is such a good song so I’ll take whatever sounds similar 🙏
A little to iron butterfly for me. Glad the chose to rein it in.

I doubt official ones exist but if you want I can make you some identical ones

@@1kash7 may i also have them if you are offering this as a common service?.... i would reaaally love to have them as midi...
I actually made a rendition on this on the smule magic piano app. I made a minute long midi of the organ solo, shoot me your email and I'll send it :)
Hard to believe it's pro shot. It's such bad quality
Probably ripped from vhs.
Well, it was from 1996, and looks like it was a VHS recording rip...
i don’t know if you don’t know this but this isn’t like an official film and master rip its just some guy’s vhs tape that they probs captured somewhere else
4:41 ahhhgg amén
What’s being said during the outro?
“Your woooooorld Your woooooorld” is what I hear.
To the wall, he repeats that everytime, but in any moment he would also say it's time
"So high", "Just high".
it’s time to move on
"so what"
What does he say from 5.46 to end? Can someone help me? Thanks 🧡
@GreasySax thats a nice theory
but i hear something like "so long"
@GreasySax now that i listen more closely in this version it does sound like he says to the wall
@GreasySax yeah makes sense
It sounds like it’s our world
hes saying amen
