*HOW* & *WHERE* does one even BEGIN to write SUCH a completely haunting & uber intricate masterpiece like THIS??? The off time elements in the rhythm, alone, is mesmerising; but, then there are the impossible chord progressions that all bleed together on top. An absolute juggernaut of a tune!
The Wheel of Music turns, and sounds come and pass, leaving melodies that become legend. Legend fades to re-release, and even re-release is long forgotten when the sound that gave it birth comes again. In one such sound, called Indie Rock by some, a sound yet to come, a sound long past, a band arose in the realm of Oxford. The band was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Music. But it was a beginning.
Yep. It's one of the best live performances ever. Foo Fighters were playing on Jools that night David Grohl said he experienced music revolution in real time watching that performance.
It's really the first time Greenwood explored a darker theme. It's not accidental that they chose the depressed Marvin from HHGTTG for the title. We first got a taste of this dark side in The Bends, but it wasn't until they found commercial success that they felt the freedom to record OK Computer and give us one of the greatest albums of all time with Paranoid Android the shining star.

I've listened to this song live hundreds of times, however I believe this to be the best live version ever played and recorded to see. Great live version! A modern day bohemian rhapsody in my opinion!
And, true to almost every video of a rock concert ever made, the cameraperson-director duo totally miss the guitar solo, leaving the viewer in no doubt that they understand nothing about music.
After seeing this band 14 times, 3 Glastonbury’s, and various phases of their career since 1994, they still awaken something in my musical brain 🤔 I feel for those that have never experienced them live as I fear that chance has now gone 🥲 the musical world is not fit for Radiohead any more 😬

Let's admit this. There is something in the British Islands air, mist and soil that implants a unique sense of melody in their children
Or the UK respects talent more than the USA

What makes OK Computer so good is the fact it holds more relevance today than it did in 1997.
That is so very true.
litsening to this album while we communicate with computers whit phrases like "Ok Google" seems the single most umpredictable prediction.
That rain down verse could be the most beautiful piece of music ever played.
I've lost count of how many live versions of this song I've watched, this is one of the best. Thanks for sharing
Just Thom doing acoustic is as good in my opinion.
The one on Jools Holland was also pretty amazing. Not as dynamic, but wow was it tight AF.

An absolute juggernaut of a tune!
Yes! 👏
It's not only amazing that they wrote that, what is truly amazing, is that they can play it Perfectly. Every. Single. Time.
Eh? Pretty much every other band does the same with their own songs. 🤔
It's impossible to play a song again after you've played it once. But they play a new, perfect song with the same name every time.
@@MichaelTuohynah they don't lil bro and they don't have 10 percent the complexity of this you absolute clown
The end of that song is fantastic. Seeing it live gives me goosebumps.
every time
One of the most brilliant songs/performances I can configure.
They understand dynamics.
Just me or is there a totally new appreciation for this band spreading?? Outside of their mainstream stuff.. everything is in it’s right place
I've always loved Radiohead, I don't see a new appreciation I see the same. I'm In Canada
HAve you heard of Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter?
Welcome…
It's just you.

Finally!! I've been looking for this for a long time. Thanks for posting. Brings back memories.
Thom Yorke's ability to wail so beautifully gives one chills. Radiohead is perfection.
The best live performance of this song is on BBC Jools Holland 'Later' 1997. It's on YT.
It is absolutely mind blowing.
Agreed

Absolutely right!
Absolutely! What a performance.

Have been their fan since I was like 14, crazy to think that now I'm the same age as Thom was in this video
C'était le moment inoubliable de Belfort
You can't turn away from this song, it is riveting, in a darkly magical, weird way.

He’s singing out of tunes it’s amazing !
Thom York is singing out of tune? Where?
nope, one millesecond was slightly flat on a sustained note.
It's not easy to play the guitar and sing on this song! Johnny gets all the press but Thom is a good guitarist in his own right!
