Challenge Anneka Ilfracombe Slade Community Centre

1992. The challenge involved moving a dilapidated old library building from its site in the middle of Ilfracombe to be resurrected as a community centre in the Slade Valley, half a mile away. The time set was 51 hours.

Sadly, a murder occurred in the small hours and I was drafted in for that

Maybe not quite such a "challenge" as suggested...much of it was pre-arranged way before they started filming. Do you really think the various companies weren't expecting Anneka to call, and didn't have any equipment ready ?

True. A lot of filming was set up. Most of the film is Anneka with school kids or driving around in her buggy and not much on the actual build by comparison. Pearces got loads of PR out of it!
