NBC's "Be There" campaign was so ubiquitous, it was parodied in "UHF" several years later. Weird that CBS based its campaign on a Dirk Diggler song, though.

Here's some interesting fact about City2, City2 was in fact BBC(not the British television network) or Banahaw Broadcasting Network. It was operated in 1973 until 1986 when the first people power revolution was occurred. Following the declaration of martial law in 1972, ABS CBN was seized by the government and one of cronies of the late president, Ferdinand Marcos, Roberto Benidicto, helmed the operations of the said shutdown TV network and turn it into BBC2. It lasts only up to 1986 when ABS CBN was brought back to the Lopezes and they're back on air for the first time since martial law declared.
1984 was noticable for premiere of "1984" movie and boycott at the Olympics, that led to creation of Good Will Games, the "replacement" of Olympics.

Do TV News Intros during 1984 next?
this is a really raaaree review as i arrived so late
**United States**
2:58 - he spitting bars though
3:41 - i like the music on this one
6:33 - this ident was somewhat ahead of it's age
**Canada**
8:27 - i like the cgi in this one
8:39 - not quite the best music for an ident
**Iceland**
8:50 - the music here somewhat kinda sounds classical
**United Kingdom**
10:29 - i sometimes like when idents are not only just scanimate or early cgi but actual people taking an effort on modelling the channel's logo for this
**Europe**
11:42 - this is the type of CGI i'd see on a random japanese demo reel from around this time
12:16 - this is like some sort of 80s type of remake from the other previous old commercial break ident
13:16 - you already know that a ident is good if it has étienne robial involved in it
14:37 - not gonna lie i do kinda find this ident somewhat low budget but still good to be honest
16:08 - this is the type of stuff i'd see on a really badly made analog horror series
**Warsaw Pact**
20:00 - the music makes this a little bit sad
**Latin America Part 1**
21:27 - the music here is sick
22:26 - for a moment i was going to say that this was really low budget unless the actual ident came out here
**English Caribbean**
24:49 - the music here sounds chille
**Latin America Part 2**
26:09 - i think that's the same color scheme as the CBC exploding pizza logo or im probably just insane
27:53 - love how they made the scanimate here look futuristic
**Rest of Europe**
30:50 - they definetly got those rhythm game visuals over there or smth idk i never played them
31:51 - psychodelic
**Africa**
32:52 - the guy speaking on this definetly was spitting bars
33:17 - i actually like this one
**West and South Asia**
35:58 - the music here in my opinion just sounds like someone trying out a synth and pressing random notes to try to make it sound sad or something
**East Asia**
39:27 - as i think now this kinda sounds like a news theme
**Southeast Asia**
41:29 - seeing this at this time must have been crazy as hell
**Oceania**
45:37 - really low budget
and that's the end of the review
