The Olympic Games are among one of the biggest sporting spectacles in the world, and were normally held once every four years; although, there were times that Games were either cancelled (twice due to World Wars) or rescheduled from its initially intended year (Tokyo 2020 was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic). The first Olympics ever to be staged in the modern era took place in 1896, at Athens, Greece; since the country was the ancient birthplace of the Olympics, Athens was consequently perceived to be an appropriate choice to stage the inaugural modern Games.
It was unanimously chosen as the host city during a congress held in Paris, organized by Baron Pierre de Coubertin and took place on 23 June 1894. At that same time, the International Olympic Committee, or the IOC, was established. Despite many obstacles and setbacks, the 1896 Olympics were regarded as a great success, and it had the largest international participation of any sporting event to that date.
The Olympics have increased in scope from a 42-competition event programme with fewer than 250 male competitors from 14 nations in 1896, to 306 medal events with 11,238 competitors (6,179 men, 5,059 women) from 206 nations in Rio 2016.

#Paris2024 #GamesWideOpen
I'll always remember Paris 2024 because my (little) country won its first gold medal in history, thank you Adriana ❤ . Vamos Guate!!!
My first time watching summer olympic games since 2008 in Indonesian television TVRI when i was 8th year old,i remember watching men football game when Argentina won gold medal in 2008 for second Time after 2004 in Athens,Greece.
Then i remember watching men's doubles badminton Indonesia Hendra Setiawan & Markis Kido R.I.P won gold medal
Ngl, when I saw 2024 for the first time, it wasn’t very good in my opinion, but it’s grown on me a lot, but great intros all together!!!
My top 5 Olympic Intro:
1 - London 2012
2 - Barcelona 1992
3 - Sydney 2000
4 - Tokyo 2020
5 - Seoul 1988
Opinion on Paris 2024 intro:
- It's been 3 editions since 2012 when they last portray real people in the Summer intro. WE NEED HUMAN BEING!
Excited for Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony!
It is such a disgrace to Victor le Masne that Parade wasn't considered in this opening bumper. It definitely lacks a Parisian vibe overall because of the generic music used. Just two years after Beijing 2022, OBS went to a downfall since Gangwon 2024. The cultural references in the audio is gone.
Indeed, with the exception of the YOG, which I'm not familiar with, the audio since Tokyo 2020 has already lost the element of cultural feature.
Anyone noticed ..fencing is featured in every obs intros😮😮
Yup
I think the Paris 2024 intro is uninspiring and flat. And it is a poor example of CGI. There is a real downfall of Olympic games intros.
I feel like this is a very poor attempt at imitating the Tokyo 2020 intro.
Paris 2024 thoughts:
Visuals is alright (staying true to its "City of Lights" monicker) but the music doesn't radiate a French vibe. Also, the cut at the start felt weird and unnatural.
Can you please upload the Paris 2024 intro as a separate video for convenience?
Can't wait to the kick off for Paris Olympics this year.
Great! Thanks!
Rome 1960 has one too but it is lost too.
Yes, we remember capitoline wolf does have an animation and even have sound (which we don't know about yet) after the roman numerals appear and then the Olympics appear as well. And that is what we remember there. So doesn't it make it fitting for you guys to know already here. Ok then.
Yes, but Roman numerals fade in one by one before the rings animated in as well there (that possibly true as well) and capitoline wolf still animated before the start of the program there. Ok.
Now do the paralympics ones, I know they have intros too.
We've been thinking about compiling openers from both Summer and Winter Paralympics, but the intro for the Salt Lake Paralympics in 2002 hasn't been circulated on the web, and it is still lost to this day.
When I first heard of Paris 2024, it reminded me of London's 2012.
Let’s hope 28 is awesome and 26
The intro for every Olympics were absolutely amazing.
I’m very happy to be part of the history. my favorite intro is Tokyo 2020 represents the youth and the spirit in the digital age.
And Covid 😷
Same as Melbourne 1956 and Helsinki 1952 (maybe). Idk for London 1948 those. So yeah. Ok.
Melbourne 1956 is just a olympic flame then zoomed out to see the Australian outline and the oval fade in then everything else appears there. That is also animation and the olympic first animated tv opening of all time here. Because 1932 to 1952 the opening are just title card only here. So yeah here. Ok then.
Rio remains the best, followed by London and then Tokyo!! Paris was not enticing at ll!!
Is it me or Paris 2024 seems lazy and almost the same as Tokyo 2020?
The latter is still the best

I do really liked the Barcelona intro, same as Paris, even if they have horrible CGI.
Berlin 1936 and la 1932 might not exist for that here. Ok.

El de México 68 😮 ni de chiste soy de esa época pero que bonito.
Lo que es Tokio 64, Atlanta 1996, Rio 2016 y Tokio 2020 son las más bonitas.
1:00 olympic 1976 Clip from?
This is from a CBC Radio-Canada report about Nadia Comaneci.
