- Watch as I disassemble and attempt to clean the field lens on my Nikon E600 microscope.
UPDATE: dust speck ended up being on the relay lens directly below the camera f-mount. I thought I had rotated it earlier, but I guess I must not have. Problem solved!
UPDATE2: I discovered I can remove the top cover on the field lens with a tiny eyeglass repair kit screwdriver WITHOUT removing the turret and stage. Much easier. - Наука
I was struggling with placing the nose piece dovetail for a bit and this helped tremendously. Awesome.
That's a fun little adventure. I have an older scope from the early '80s and it has specks everywhere. I realized almost all of them are on the eyepiece. It looks super clean when you just look at it, but clearly it's not. And I can't seem to get it clean no matter what I do. Just bought replacement eyepieces. Dust in other locations often just reduces contrast or something...rather than making visible specks like that.
Hey mate, I'm stuck on my e600 build and need help if you wouldn't mind assisting - i'd greatly appreciate it. I am trying to use a DSLR camera to capture 8k footage through the trinocular. My 85mm macro lens should work, but the dot is very very tiny on my sensor. I am thinking that I need some sort of special eyepiece adapter that attaches to the top trinocular piece. How did you set yours up to work with a DSLR? There's some sort of special adapter needed surely... Thanks in advance if you do reply!!
I attach my Nikon dslr body directly to the trinocular f-mount. There is no lens. It works great. I think you need a specific trinocular mount though. I’m pretty sure I mention the part number in the video.
@@createthisdotcom I got the microscope and i'm having the dust problem. I cleaned the condensor super well. I have a piece of hair in my sight. I think it's behind where the binoculars are. I removed the trinocular cap and dusted in there VERY good. I removed the object lenses and cleaned in there too. No idea where the hair is, and it's a total killer... How can you remove the area above the object lenses? There's like 4 different glass surfaces in there where the specs are located.
did you scratch the mirror?
Not that I’m aware of. Why?
