I love how you made a prediction about a auper large context being available within years, and then google droped their LLM with an insane 10M context. Same goes for OpenAI text to video and Sora. This tech develops at an insanely rapid pace. I've never seen anything like this before. GPT-5 is coming soon as well. This is both exciting and terrifying st the same time.
I'm no Software Engineer, but I was researching Devin (AI Tool) and watching videos about it, and holy crap, that some powerful AI tool. I don't believe is the end of programming but is changing at absolute ridiculous pace. As for Software Engineering, with the rise of AI, if a company has 100 Software Engineers, they'll probably cut down to 50. The issue with most CS degree curriculum is that is basically outdated.
I simultaneously find the rapid advancement of A.I. fascinating and horrifying. I love the idea of a utopia where a lot of labor is automated. But that just doesnt seem to be whats really gonna happen.
Great video btw. A friend sent me here.
I wanted ask one question. Say SWEs do get replaced and you also mentioned that lawyers, accountants and doctors will also get replaced.
but will lawyers even allow them to exist? like you know these guys make the policies and laws.
and also please tell us what should be the alternative path? smth that pays well too. I'm in college already studying cs
@enigmaticDeveloper you should check out the latest Midjourney. It appears to be doing quite well with text lately. Progress marches on.
