- This tiny spot nestled in LA's Thai Town serves tantalizing Thai cuisine far from the Americanized versions found at most eateries in the area. Forget about pad Thai and spring rolls - this place is all about bold, spicy flavors hailing from northern Thailand. Their menu boasts mouthwatering dishes like jackfruit curry, bamboo shoot curry, kaeng kua curry, and spicy stir-fried catfish that will leave your taste buds singing. Sit down, let your mouth water while you watch this video, and be sure to visit next time you're in LA!

How i wish lol
This is the type of Thai restaurant I want in my town. Not the the same food you can find in every Thai restaurant but food you would eat what they make in their own home.
Same; however, sourcing certain ingredients just doesn't seem sustainable or profitable for a mid-west American Thai restaurant.

Yup, we in LA are so lucky to have a large enough population of Vietnamese, Thai, Indian, Mexican, South/Central American, Korean people etc., that we can travel and enjoy incredible, authentic cuisines from all over without leaving home. Its so sad that tourists go to Rodeo Drive thinking that’s the most interesting thing about LA. Its these little mom and pop shops that truly represent what it means to be an Angeleno.
There's a Thai restaurant on every other block in the yuppie parts of Brooklyn, and they're all the exact same.
I cannot say enough how good this spot is! One of my favorite restaurants in LA and a great example of what, in my opinion, makes LA awesome: People from all over the world coming here and making amazing things. These people deserve all the success and I hope they get to take a day off soon.
Northern Thai food is such a gift to the world and is hands-down my favourite cuisine. I ate at Northern Thai Food Club back in 2022 when visiting LA and it was sooooo good. I'm overjoyed to see the lovely and deserving folks doing well and getting even more recognition! Thank you for all the delicious food and love!
may god bless u💡
I freaking love living in Los Angeles, what other place can I get authentic fufu and eru for breakfast, than go to Thai town for some hot pot soup, then finish it off with the best Mexican street food that’s exists for dinner? A place like Los Angeles gives me a sense of true cultural diversity. I’ve had delicious foods I didn’t even know existed here.
Honestly, the best part about living in SoCal is the food, but man traffic on the freeways is getting out of hand
@@dennislee8930 depending on where you live you never have to take a freeway, I would go from east LA to San Pedro beach just by going through south central and downtown, it’s possible, it will take more time but it’s so much more relaxing. You see so many sights as well.
It's overpriced, feminized, and liberalized which automatically takes away from all of the pros you've listed
@@smellypatel5272 no it doesn’t, lol 😂

Beautiful food, beautiful people - excellent video - keep it coming Munchies!
So much to learn from them. I wish they did video's on their food I'd love to know more.
Why am I smelling the aroma in front of the screen? I’m a Taiwanese but Thai cuisines are my fav food ❤
Wait til you get to try Indonesian food as well, please try Medan Kitchen in LA too
A lovely couple making outstanding food
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My sister ok me here when I came to visit. The food was fantastic, and they were so nice and gave recommendations. That pork belly was soo good, and Khao Soi is always a must!
Their food looks amazing. Nuff said.
Thai people and Indian people truly know how to make your dish nice n’ spicy!
Went here for lunch a year ago on a whim and it’s amazing!
I was at that restaurant in 2021 and probably one of my favorite thai restaurant I've ever been to. Mark Wiens had also visited that place before and also made a vudeo about it.
These stories featured on here bring a tear to my eye 🥲
I’ve eaten here a few times. It’s a small place and the food is delicious and spicy!! Get the tomato and pork dip. It’s so good!
My mouth is salivating !!! 😋
Hopefully more and more places like this will come to the west!!
I would love to try that place
Damn! That looks so good!
I just finished eating here for the first time a few minutes ago. I didn’t recognize the dishes from usual Thai spots, but I knew it was going to good when I was welcomed by the strong smell of fish sauce. Boy, was I right. Bomb…

น่ากินมากกกกกก This is amazing! Northern Thai food is unique and flavorful
I love that restaurant.
What an interesting back story - they have such a beautiful friendship
This is beautiful
7:10 Mark Wiens was here!
I ate here a week ago not knowing it was so popular. The food was DELICIOUS and Ioved dining there. I'm already looking forward to eating there soon.
😢 we need this in my city .. excellent episode
Restaurant is an absolute banger and sleeper in LA's Thai Town. Very spicy but its worth it.
Nothing better than Issan cooking.
YES!
Went here last year after watching Mark Wein’s video! So bomb! Coming back for it again this year :D
Thai food is my favorite, hole-in-the-wall restaurants are hiding gems.
Will try this spot next time I stop by PA Ord
Great Place 👍 would happily eat there again Thanks for the Video!
Never been, but going to go soon…btw…what you recommend there that is good?
@RayRay PooteyTang I had the Khao Soi Gai, and their pork curry both very highly recommended
@@east_coast_ceo1070 Now you’re making me hungry…lol!
The food looks great -- less "fast foody" and more authentic-homemadesque. All the very best to them.
LA always has the restaurants I wanna try :(
Look authentic to me, must try next time I'm in LA.
Beautiful Stories (even though it sounds to be a lot of work) Keep moving forward!
Looks so good and miss a little thai place run mostly by just one thai lady that made some delicious stuff.
อยากไปชิมที่ร้านเลยครับ
If you don't know what to get, get the Lao/Thai sausage, papaya salad and sticky rice🤌
this duo and their restaurant is a hol vibe
props to all the Asian OGz working everyday for their kids !!
Why is the name not in the description so people can easily look up and go?

never been here but i would like to see kanom jeen nam ngiaow on the menu if it exists.
How about giving link or even address for the restaurant instead of selfishly listing half a dozen of your own links?

This is the real thai spot, not that fake americanized version of thai food
If Gordon comes here he would be like.
Gordon: Finally something good.
Gordon would get scold by the owner instead.
I don't get it. Is this place called Amphai, or Northern Thai Food Club?
Didn’t Mark Wiens eat here and said it’s the most authentic Northern style outside of Thailand he’s had?
Wow your video is 6 seconds longer than the threshold where you get more ad revenue. Das cray.

SriPraPhai in Queens, NY is still #1 in the USA. In fact I just came back from a 6 month stay in Thailand and SriPraPhai is better than anything I had in Thailand, which is still fresh on my mind.
I wanna try this real bad. All I've had is American Thai food, and it sucks! It's the only "Asian" food that I don't like. But maybe something authentic like this place would change my mind about Thai food.
❤❤es
Why does nobody ever talk about Southern Thai food? It’s always Northern/Isan
isn't regular "thai food" in america just southern thai food? it's the most densely populated and influential part of the country. i think people just specify when they have "northern thai" food, while people selling southern thai food don't have to
This is like complaining nobody talks about Texas BBQ when people are talking about less well-known BBQ regions.
Jitlada, a Southern Thai restaurant in LA has been arguably the best Thai restaurant in the U.S. for >20 years now.
@@senecavermeulen8110 I always thought the "standard" Thai food in the U.S. was from around Bangkok, i.e. central Thailand.
@@senecavermeulen8110 well, I wish somebody would have explained that to me. I and most other Americans are not that familiar with the intricacies of Thai cuisine, and to hear food writers and videographers talk about Northern Thai cuisine without first explaining its presence in contrast to what you mention as the more prevalent Southern Thai cuisine in the US is frustrating
Food is good but parking is impossible on most days. Hollywood is worse than Pasadena when it comes to parking.
Awwww....they should give themselves one day off to rest.
So they’re not married? 😅
My husband loves a good curry. I wish I did but I don't.
You know the food is good when the chefs don’t speak English
More importantly, they cook it out of authenticity.
This place looks great but how do you not even have the name of the restaurant in the description?? lol No excuse for this type of content.
Ain't no brainwashing me 👓
Made me want some pad Thai 🔥
They said they dont serve it there lol

Not enough love for Lao food in the world.
Not enough people promoting Lao food for what it really is…instead they would rather insecurely promote as Northern Thai or Isaan Thai.
Because this is not laos food it north thai food different area different erthic group I think tou confused with north east thai food which look more like laos because they're same group.
look at those hard workers.. and some future doctors and lawyers just want reparations for something they've never experienced
Is it just me or does this woman got it going on?
Basically Lao food
Northern Thai food AKA Laos Food.
Lao food 😋 😍
yesssiiiirrrr
How is it Laos food though? I don’t think Laos has Khao soi?
@@nuniis I have a lot of family in Khon Kaen and Udon Thani there are a lot of Laos people that live in those regions and yes we do have that dish here is a link ruclips.net/video/0xmfn1AUv7Q/видео.html
so basically lao food.
All Thai Food is Laotian Food
OMG.....these foreigners want to work hard and start a business.....we gotta stop them from coming here!!!!! They took merjurb!
So basically Lao food!
No not laos. laos people don't have curry type food most of north thai food are different from laos and north east thai food. Most laos food are more smelly and more have more raw prepared dished while north thai food need to take time to prepare a lot you can see many curry menu in here.
Fun fact: In thailand the stereotype exists that women are hard working and men are lazy.
They liked America enough to move their whole life here but not enough to learn English. 🙄
Surely they do but not take it that seriously, but why are you mad at them though?? It’s their choice. Isn’t America a country of freedom?
There's a ton of Western expats in Thailand who do the same thing - they refuse to learn Thai and have lived there for decades. They live in their own English-speaking bubble. Some won't even eat Thai food.
Yum
