I love the flumes and I’m amazed they still are operating as most flume rides at parks are slowly dying off.
I’m really gonna be sad the day the dynamic duo water rides leave as they are one of the many orginal rides from the park openings in 1976.
Sometimes these things are not always open but when they are...they bring in huge lines.
Why did CGA have to get rid of their Loggers Run in 2017.....they already lost Yankee Clipper in 1997, now both orginal flumes at California are gone for good. 😢 How unfortunate.
Hopefully our flumes can hang in there a little while longer.

Thanks for the great insights. Question: Why, in the middle of summer, with 25k+ people in the park and perfect HOT weather, do the flume rides close at 7P.M. (overall Park closes at 10P.M.) I've witnessed hundreds of people approaching the entrances after 7P.M. (myself included) and just dumbfounded then aggravated about the early ride closure.

Preaching to the choir here man I think the flumes should always be open

Back in the mid 90’s we would stay open at flumes until close and the last hour usually no one was riding. I am sure it was decided to save money since no one was riding. I wish they would keep open til 9pm though.

Either to low staff, or just age.
Log flumes can become hard to maintain over time.

I am sure it is staffing.
