I remember going on this ride with my sister and my mom's boyfriend. We did what you were supposed to do and both bent down on the drop and he caught a HUGE TIDAL WAVE of water and my mom got a picture at just the right moment! My sister and I bent over and my mom's boyfriend, sitting straight up, with this big a$$ grin on his face, with the wave coming his way! He was soaked the rest of the day! Best memory ever!!
man so many rides in 2023 were SBNO. Mardi Gras Hangover, Demon, Condor. I definitely remember the days when Aquaman was actually open (very rare), it always had at least a 45 minute wait. Not worth it at all
Sadly, even if they were going to invest in a major new ride at that park...Arrow's been out of business for 20-some years at this point. I'm honestly surprised the parks that do have their flume rides (or coasters, for that matter) are able to keep them running just from wear-and-tear parts availability. But Arrow DID build around 50 of the things, and the Great America parks only got four - so there are a number of them left. You might find one closer to you than the IL park. With that said, I think the double-down final drop on Logger's Run was extremely rare. I've never seen it outside of the Marriott rides.
This ride is in Gurnee, IL at Six Flags Great America. It is one of the original rides from when the park opened in 1976. Gurnee is about half way between Milwaukee and Chicago.
yeah the three major non-kiddie/non-waterpark water rides at SFGAm could definitely use a lot of refurbishing and some more theming. They made a big deal out of turning one of them into "Aquaman Splashdown" or something and it was basically just coloring the boats in Aquaman colors lmao. i'm guessing SFGAm doesn't want to pay a shit ton of money to fix everything up, which is unfortunate
@@skippythealien9627 They actually have been doing effort. This off season American Eagle and Joker got their lift chains replaced, Viper got re tracked, and Whizzer is currently getting a computer system upgrade
@@tigerrocks503 Joker already got their lift chain replaced? wow...but kudos to SFGAm for being on top of maintenance! i did see on the app that American Eagle and whizzer are not available yet. that's cool that the Whizzer is getting a computer upgrade!
@@tigerrocks503yeah but those are all roller coasters. Enthusiasts beg parks to do what you just said. As a result, water rides are neglected. It’s hard for me to even find videos about Logger’s Run and Yankee Clipper as a CGA pass holder curious about SFGAm

Is this still in operation? I hope so. I have great memories of being on this ride in the 80s, 90s, and beyond when we lived in California. KM
Yes
The Aquaman log flume ride was SBNO for no reason, I guess it's due to budget cuts.

Where is this please?
Six Flags Great America.
Great America is in Santa Clara, CA, just a little north of San Jose, CA, USA
@@kevinmorrill8347no it’s not

Is this the same thing as aqua man splash down or whatever it’s called
Yea it is but aquman splashdown has a boat and this one has a log
Also this one’s a tad bit less scarier than the aqua man splashdown
My cousin almost broke a tooth on this ride during a family trip 10 years ago
Great video as always but wow, that is an ugly ride! You get plenty of time on it but its as ugly as can be.
Loggers Run is an old girl and she has been in the park since opening (1976). So it’s not the shiniest and most sparkly looking ride in the park.
