Very interesting video! No idea how or why this video showed up in my feed, but it came at the perfect time. Been having one of those days where I was struggling to work because I kept feeling like I had to have something on my second monitor while I was working, but anything I put on just made me feel more restless. Felt like I couldn't work, nor relax - anything I tried to do to relax felt like it was having the opposite effect. Hearing the word "overstimulated" was that "aha" moment that made me realise I was just stuck in a cycle of looking for stimulation to try relax which inadvertently made me not relax haha. Video was spot on, definitely looking forward to more :)
A great help I’ve used is putting my phone down for the whole day and taking detox days. Once you remove yourself from social media at first it’s uncomfortable then you become more happy as that uncomfortable feeling goes away. It’s truly beautiful what your brain can come up with if you don’t give it something to do.
Just finished watching the video, I can really relate on being quite burnt out for the last couple of years. You gave some really good advices that I'll try to apply in my everyday life, maybe I'll try to put the phone down more, try to get bored and force my brain to do something creative and meaningful for once instead of just scrolling away, wasting my life's hours on social media. Anyways, enough of me talking, time to put my phone down. Great video, have a good one mate 🙂
My personal favorite tool to combating over stimulation is meditation. It's one thing to acknowledge how social media has hijacked your brain, but you have a 'crazy monkey mind' that always craves stimulation. Social media is designed to give your monkey mind as much stimulation as possible, and your monkey mind will hijack the rest of your brain in a shortsighted attempt to stay stimulated. The best way to reign in your crazy monkey mind is to give it a job, and meditation techniques teach you ways to give it something to do that are grounded in reality so you don't get sucked into social media
hey man great video, you have good speaking voice. a little piece of advice, personally the Minecraft b-roll was too much, the way your moving the camera upside down and stuff is too jittery considering that its not 60fps
Thanks for the advice! Was just trying something out haha, If you look at some of my other videos, I have really slow cinematics, I’d be curious to see if you like those more. Regardless, thanks so much for the comment
