    Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐
    One of my favorites BM songs and I'm loving it more and more, the girls love it too and they couldn't wait to finish the choreo to show some cool dance moves which they did when performing this live debut at BabyMetal Begins Black Night, PIA Arena MM - April 1st last year.
    Everyone was looking for heavier tracks like Mirror Mirror, MAYA or Believing, me i was looking for this, i love progressive trance and this edm mix is so good.
    They already got time travelling theme in songs like Awadama Fever, kinda, but this one is more like a challenge rather than just having fun, and also got some connection with this metalverse.
    Here's some official info:
    Time Wave
    (TRANSITION)
    _The concept of time is like an endless Mobius strip. The past, the future, and the present can exist anywhere on the wave of time. Is the METALVERSE that lies beyond time a maze in which we have wandered into, or is it a destination we must reach?_
    This track sounds futuristic and is full of interesting layers that keeps haunting me, is among my favorites and this live version with the West Kami Band it's even better.
    They performed this outside of Japan during the Europe & UK Tour, the overseas premiere was at London surprising all the fans, later in Germany and finally in Luxemburg, those are the only three times (four in total) they played this beautiful song.
    Thanks for sharing this and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

    Hell yeah! Also, not “Godfrey”, but “Go Free”.
    You should check out Amore (Wembley 2016). There are only compilations or a watermarked version, but Akatsuki 2.0, and my favorite Su solo.
    You also have Rondo of Nightmare and No Rain, No Rainbow for her solos.

    Ah yes! Still one of my favorite Babymetal songs! Maybe it's because I don't know much club or dance type music but I LOVE all the layers in it!
    I love listening in my car, yep Moa's voice during the "move on, move on" part fades from side to side. Just awesome! Their songwriting team is absolutely killer!
    Little tangent, but I still hear sometimes them get criticized for not writing their own songs and my reaction I don't give a flying F haha. Some folks I think don't realize they have intensive deliberate choreo they have to learn for every. Single song! And to me that's mind blowing and their dancing and singing (obviously Su especially, now one of my favorite singers of all time) makes them JUST as talented as if they wrote music or played instruments.
    They're phenomenal!

    Awesome reaction as always! The intro reminds me of the intro to Tales Of The Destinies at Tokyo Dome which is a good thing. Time Wave wasn't actually a favourite on the album in the beginning but after some listening and especially seeing the PIA Arena live version it has really been climbing in the ranks for me🤘🦊

    "Time Wave" is probably my least favorite song from The Other ONE album but I still enjoy it a lot. It also has one of my favorite choreos... not to mention the laser show. I'm a sucker for such things. And the PIA Arena concerts didn't disappoint. I regret not having attended.
    They have performed it live only four times. So, it's kind of a rarity and I hope they bring it back soon.

      Well, maybe more than 4 then because they performed Timewave here in Vancouver, BC, but the Forum where they performed is quite a small venue, which is fine by me! It means I get to be closer to these amazing ladies! :D

    Timewave rarely gets played and I was lucky enough to be there to hear it live in London last year. Absolutely epic and unforgettable 😭. I heard Su sing the lines as "Go free". No idea if I just heard what I wanted though, guess I'll just have to keep going to more Babymetal live shows in case they ever play it again ❤🦊🤘

    • @Ganimal83
      @Ganimal83 3 месяца назад +3

      It’s Go free, translation error. One of the few Babymetal has made in their official lyrics. AJ Hartley broke it down quite well why that is the most plausible.
      Of course, OTFGK lol.

    Btw the “Godfrey” might be a mistake, even tho it is written as such in the official lyrics but it may should been “go free”, since who tf is Godfrey? 😂

    • @gaplauche
      @gaplauche 3 месяца назад +1

      Godfrey is a proper noun, a name, as well as an obscure idiom used as an exclamation of surprise or anger. A simple Google search brings it up. It's plausible the lyric writer, being Japanese, wasn't aware it's not in common use these days. I don't find the theory that it's a translation error meant to be "go free" to be plausible. How do you get "Godfrey" from whatever the original Japanese would have been for "go free"? A typo would seem more likely than mistranslation here, but it still doesn't make sense. In addition to being the official lyric in print, Su actually sings "Godfrey," not "go free," so it's rather silly and presumptuous to say, "No, it's Babymetal who are wrong."
