    For this painting I used Winsor and Newton paints in the colours Cobalt Blue, Olive Green, Quinacridone Gold and Sepia, plus a little white gouache. I painted on 140lb Arches watercolour paper, “NOT” surface.

    My 194 th. After terrible rainy weather now the sun gets trough. Very tempting to company my wife for a walk. But...today I have to - it became tradition- bake waffles. 70 big and soft ones ans about 170 little hard ones. This is quite a timeconsuming activity. It takes the four of us - with a few gifaways, only about a week to eat all of them😮😊.but I always make time to watch. This one was again nice to watch😊wim

    Diane, I don't know how this tutorial got by me, but what a treat that I discovered it today, nearly a year after you created this beauty. There's so much I love about this so I'll name a few. First, I am going to copy your idea of taking a larger size of paper and using half for the painting and half for the palette. It makes the world of sense to me. In fact, I'm going to save the palette and make notes on it so I have it to use as a reference for future paintings. I could spend hours watching you sketch and paint, and I do! The painting is stunning and has that signature vintage feel that I so often recognize in your paintings. Lastly, at the end of this video, you mentioned $1,000 subscribers...just look at your numbers now, in less than a year, you're up to 23.5K - I love seeing your channel grow because it is so richly deserved. You and Tamsin put so much effort and time in creating informative and relaxing videos during a time in our lives when people need it most. Congratulations to you both! Warmly, Carolyn XO

    Congratulations on reaching 1,000 subs! 😀 I love this painting because it reminds me that spring is just around the corner after the dark miserable days we've had.
    I love it when you've finished a painting and the tape comes off to reveal the white underneath and then everything seems to come alive. 😊

    • @DianeAntoneStudio
      @DianeAntoneStudio  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Eileen! Exactly the way I was feeling too. I also love peeling off the tape - and then when you put it in a frame there is yet another boost to the painting - motto is, never throw a painting away! Sometimes you just need to make it a bit smaller to show the best bit! Thanks again for your great comments, much appreciated, especially on a grey miserable day like today with all the bad news in the headlines x

    Hey Diane, love the tutorial. Can you tell me where I can go online to buy the Drawell brushes? I've searched, but so far I've been unable to find them. Love your work. I'm kind of new at this...I love your style. :)

    • @DianeAntoneStudio
      @DianeAntoneStudio  Год назад +1

      Hi Julie, I get the brushes made by this manufacturer, "Drawell" brushes in Japan. They are very inexpensive, and if you order several the postage isn't too bad, they still work out at a good price. The ones I use are Golden Nylon Series 11-2, and I use mostly sizes 7or 9 and 10 and 13. I also use the Maestro ones, and I have sizes 3, 5 and 7 for more detailed work as they have a better point. Here's the website. The owner is a very friendly and polite Japanese gentleman. If you email him he will send you a pricelist in dollars. www.drawell.co.jp/english/product.html

      @@DianeAntoneStudio Excellent, thank you! I have heard you talk about the Drawell brushes but every time I do a google search I can’t find a retail website. So this is perfect. By the way, I’ve been using my Kuretake paints that I bought about 6+ months ago upon your recommendation, and I love them! :). Thanks for everything, I appreciate your input! And I’m a big fan! :)
