    We have a local Hammerhead dealer where I am and I looked hard at them when I was in the market. Love the storage on the Whale Shark! At the time I was in the market, I couldn't really find any information about stability which was #1 for me since I am a non-swimmer. Good video and I'm glad you like your new yak. New subscriber.

      Thanks for checking out my channel! I've got some content coming on stability. It's very stable and I've had no issues standing up and fishing out of it.

    With the pedal drive in, is the seat far enough back where you can access that little rectangular hatch?

    • @lifewda365
      @lifewda365  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes! The seat is actually on tracks built into the floor of the kayak. You can adjust it forward or backward depending on your height or where you want your feet to touch the pedals.

    Great video! I ordered my Whale Shark last week...I'll be picking it up late next month. (it'll be there much sooner, but I work on a ship and won't be back home until then). I'll be interested to see how/where you mount your Anchor Wizard, when you do that, too. I currently have anchor trollies on my Pelican Catch 120, and no anchoring system on my Bull Shark. I'm looking at the Anchor Wizard for the Whale Shark, and if I like that, I'll put one on the Bull Shark, too. Subbed...Stay Safe!

      Thanks man! You'll definitely love the whale shark! I'll keep you updated on the anchor wizard. Hopefully get it installed this week or coming weekend. Tight lines man!

    The Whale Shark is a kayak that gets very little coverage. The lack of information steered me away from them. Have you owned other kayaks before and how does this compare to them?

      I have owned other kayaks. Started out with a Pelican Catch 120. Upgraded to a Feel Free Lure 13.5 in 2021. The whale shark is very similar to the Lure 13.5. I decided to switch based on the ability to have a pedal drive and trolling motor at the same time. Another factor was the amount of storage and room the whale shark has. So far I really like it.

      The Hammerhead Kayaks are on par with most other Kayaks in the same price range. I got the Bull Shark model because I wanted something relatively light (83lbs with seat and drive), but that still had a good weight capacity (450-500lbs) so my 260lb self an dmy gear stay below 80% of maximum. The Whale Shark is a BIG Kayak, and heavy at 121lbs, but also has a 600lb rated capacity. It is not fast, but with average pedal effort will cruise along close to 2.5-3mph no problem, and if you pedal hard you can get it over 4mph.

      @OddBallPerformance good info man! I chose the whale shark because the size was very similar to my Lure 13.5 from Feel Free. I also mainly fish big lakes and wanted something that could handle boat waves and rough water. Thinking of getting the baby whale for smaller lakes and river fishing...
