A couple of tips, you can rinse with Shark and other automatic machines by refilling the clean water tank with just water, and the Hoover's entire spin scrub brushes detach for easy cleaning.
The StainStriker feature is used with the hose. It would be nice if Shark could tweak the design where the StainStriker feature works with the cleaner head as well.
I was thinking the same thing. So now, I just to a pre-spray with the hose before cleaning.
The roller brush on the Shark easily comes out by lifting it out with the lever on top of the connection point on the left side (as you stand in front of the machine). Makes it easy to clean. There is also a hose wash attachment and way to clean the inner housing where the top filter sets and on the left side.

the crevice tool on the shark is essentially integrated into the hose. You just take the larger brush off and its automatically the crevice tool until you put a different attachment on
