Very nice down to the point video that pretty much covers everything! A lot of people are gonna benefit from this with processing fees being 2 bucks a pound... When vacuum sealing with a food server. Seal each side two times and make sure the part that Is being sealed is completely completely** dry.
Yall did a fantastic job on showing how to Fila a tuna , can wait to see recap on trip yall , do such a fantastic job, love it , tight lunes yall 😅😅😅😅😅
Excellent video and job on the fish . After cleaning literally thousands of fish on boats I can say that he's great with a knife and does every bit as good if not better than the processors and the only thing he's missing is a vacuum sealer. Guys have the crew clean your catch and buy a vacuum sealer with the money you'll save and seal it when you get home. Keep the money on the boat with the guys who bust their ass all day and night
@@GregoryMillar-l7n thanks for the great comment! We pride ourselves in sending home nice quality fillets so people have an easier time vacuum sealing!
I can tell you do. Worked on a lot of boats both out of Diego and long Beach. Some of my fondest memories are of being on Fortune with Tanaka. Joey does an awesome job of fileting fish, but he's even a better cook! I hope he's the cooking when I jion you guys in September. Oh, are the 180 gram tungsten jigs effective?
Enjoy your content and want to join you for some tuna fishing before I can't. The filet video is great information! Is there any chance crew or anglers sell/barter some of their filets when walking off the docks? Asking for a friend.
I was fishing on a boat in San Diego last month. I will not mention the name of the boat but they would not fillet the fish 🐠 n the boat. Later I found out the skipper owned a fish processing store and if you wanted your fish filleted you had to send the fish to the skipper fish processing store. At almost $2 a pound the bill can get very expensive, very expensive. I’ll never go to n that boat again. Good thing I had a kill bag and let my wife fillet the fish. Have any room to n your boat for next weekend?
@@Blueskies-h3e we’re chartered for the majority of August… sorry about that. But that’s a wild story! We have no ulterior motives here, just want to send you home with the quality fish you caught!
@@Socalfishingkids if scam. The boat I went on I’ll never go on again. Pay big money to get the boat and pay big money to have the fish cut. I’m glad to see the Legend fillets the fish on the boat 👍👍
@@Socalfishingkids absolutely happy to fillet on the boat! It’s a great alternative if you have a vacuum sealer on the boat or like to give away fresh fish to your friends & family.
@@Socalfishingkids I think I know which boat you were on. You catch a 60# fish for example. When you go pick up your tuna your bill will be very close to $120. Double that if you caught 2. That’s the cost of getting on the boat. I’m glad I’m always over prepared with coolers and a kill bag.
I guess the big question is... Do you actually do this on the Boat? Most boats I ask will not do any fish over 60 pounds. Hooping on board 8/28 and would much rather save the processing cash for another trip ;-)

Is there anywhere after we catch one we can sell it at ? Is that an option ?
