Kipkay. I am currently 16 years old and I started watching you when I was 11. I was always inspired by your projects, but my age restricted me from making most of them, though I've made a few. This video really brings back the memories from years ago. These are the types of projects we all started watching you for. Please bring back more like this!! Keep up the amazing work, good job.
Kipkay, I have watched you for years and I'm only 12. Thank you for teaching my little mind all of these things!!!
2:49 Nice placement.
LOL
......
Omg
lol
HA!!!
Hey Kip, really like your videos. I make lights like this. I use waterproof lights and skip the clear pvc and the weights. They work great. The lights draw phytoplankton which draws small fish which draw larger fish.
All the sudden I have the urge to go fishing for the first time in 10 years. Great vid!
This is an amazing project because everybody who goes fishing has an outlet next to them! :D
Hey on the other hand for those that have a boat, get to have fun 😂
When he said "One final step to make this completely waterproof" at 4:52 was I the only one who thought he sounded just like the flex seal guy?
he sounds like Kermit the Frog to me
once u said that i realised
*I SAWED THIS BOAT IN HALF!!!*
I like how you stay strong, throughout all hate, KipKay.
Wait what hate is he getting? I've never seen any hate on his vids
Sheep TV the vast majority of his modern videos is a sh!tfest of people nitpicking the videosubject apart.
I'd use that light to go snorkel in a lake looking for lost and buried treasures.
Wow! Great job Kip. I've seen those used for dipping shrimp, too.
I had a hard time finding 1 1/2 clear PVC pipe so I used a protective cover used on fluorescent tube lights. I used bolts from my scrounge box in the garage to weigh it down. If you use the entire roll of LED's it will make an assembly 20 inches long. On the end of the wire, instead of using a wall wart I used a cigarette lighter plug for power. By the way, I made 2 of them, can't wait to fish with them! Thanks for the idea! The whole assembly cost about $30.00 to build both!
I'd be greatly interested to see pic of your finished product. Primarily the cigarette DC plug.
I'd use that design as a decorative hanging lantern.
Never knew Kipkay likes fishing
Now that you mention it, I could build a cool light system with the led lights but make the tubes look more steampunk. I'd also like to make a mad scientist style light switch to turn it on or off. Other steampunk projects, too.
Here is a tip if you don't have enough money for the lights get a lot of glowsticks Nad put them in a clear tube. Ps: Keep up the good work on the videos. :D
I like that light for darn near anything. I see getting a multicolored light strip with strobe effects and making 2 or three for tree decorations in the yard for garden parties and night time gatherings. Not to mention cool mood lighting for seasonal occasions like Christmas, New Year and July 4th. What a simple and really nice build.
+1 for using a properly made electricians knot.
Cool video but if you want to avoid purple primer pick your self up some oatey gold when glue a connection hold them together tight for about 60 seconds. This works I put up solar pool heating systems at one time. Pool water is pumped up to black plastic panels and then returns to the pool we always changed the pumps to a pump that could handle the head height and the connections were under a decent amount of pressure. This save you a little money and time in the end.
If i made it to the end of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and the final question asked who narrated this clip..... I'd be pretty confident picking Ernie from Sesame Street.
if you go to a pound shop/dollar store you can get 3 glow sticks for £1 attach a fishing line to one end throw it in the water it will do the same job drag it out by the line when finished
"can't wait to smoke some black tar meth with this contraption." 5:38
GrazeNight ROFLMAO! And "Could you do this with a Zippo?" Zippo lighters are metal, so no light would come through. And "uv and ir are so bad for your eyes though" but green LEDs only emit green light. They must all be smoking meth! LMFAO!
You could make a few of these in different colors (or same) string them in parallel, hang them around a room and connect them to a stereo so they flash when the music is going!
I use strips in my boat for night fishing. Red saves your night vision, bright enough to rig tackle.
To make portable version, you can use 3s Lipo battery (11.1-12.6V) used in RC models.
why did i not think of that?
does it work on pokemon?
I wanna know that too, only got 256 more Magikarp to go
I tried it and caught a goldeen
Yasssss it lso hlps wit ur minddddCrAft SkIlS
If they are Water-type, then yes.
+King Stone
fat
this works nicely with a toaster too! just get a regular toaster from the store, plug it in, throw it in the lake, and all the fish float right up to the surface! life hack!
glow stick party
Very nice construction. I like the color of the LED's. I have a fishing light that I've used for years, it's a halogen lamp inside a test tube. The color is white, you can buy them for around $20. They also sell LED lights for $25 - $50, but it's more fun making one.
does this also attract women?
cool never herd of that didn't know you could attract fish with light.
This needs to be DC instead of AC. That way you could utilize your boat batteries or a battery source.
Randy Neal LEDs are dc. He's using a converter to go from 120vac to 12vdc, if you want to use it on a boat just run the wires to a switched and fused battery source.
2:50 I'm nearly 20 but i can't help laughing
😂😂😂
Can anyone tell me where the joke is? I'm no native speaker...
well if you were good you would have caught 3:30
It... I've just realized something after all these years of watching kipkay on and off... He kinda has a kermit the frog voice... If he just put a little effort into getting that kermit voice I'm sure he would be a great kermit voice actor. He even does it accidentally sometimes when he is straining with his voice a bit! XD
Paradox Edge 😂😂😂 true af
Very clever!!! No more expensive pond lights!!! This is superb. I love hacks, thank you!!
5:35 it's me
Creeperkiller lol
u just saved me buying a expensive scuba diving light
I halved it and got the lights in white and strapped it along my arm it's great
OMG! I caught Dory!
I GOT A MAGIKARP
yall stop catching pokemons, its illegal theyre almost extinct and yall dont know that..
Omg!!! I love you!!! Since you take a lot off your time to help people by showing us how to make something expensive from cheap stuff
After about 4 minutes of listening, anyone else start to hear kermit the frog teaching you how to make a LED Light bar?
This is cool! Just make sure to check your local fishing laws on using artificial light (anything but daylight) to lure fish, and if you can fish after dark.
maybe it's smart to test the LEDs before gluing it together :P
I did of course, just didn't show it.
+kipkay hi
+kipkay woud smaller sized glowing thingy work because I wanna make one smaller because he LOVE fishing,I think it woud work ;-)
+Mateo Vodstrcil sorry about auto correct
I was just coming to comment the same thing :D +mariogrip
1) I would use a cable or rope of some kind to carry the weight of the light along side of the small gauge wire. 2) I would also water proof the power cord on the inside of the cap as well . I would not use silicone to do this I would use a marine or plumbing type 2 - part epoxy dough, like $6 at Lowes or HD. 3) On the LED wrap at the end I would go around it with electricians tape in combination with the glue.
2:51 LOL!
I fish a lot and this has been a major help for me
Does this work with pokemon's?
Sadly no, most Pokemon happen to fear bright lights.
+Lucas “Luke” Dinosaur Pokemon are no joke, Lucas 0_0
+Sweetestfish how did u comment 30 min ago?
+Trevor Roig What do you mean?
you are stupid... of course it woud:-)
Honestly I would use these as patio lights for a party or something. It looks awesome, as always!
5:38 "Can't wait to smoke some black tar meth with this contraption"
LOL
Lol
Kipkay AWESOME project, I made a few adjustments. A car battery, now its mobile and I shorted out the wiring. TONS of fish just come floating up on the water.
if you make it with white led you could use it for working on your car to light up hard to see spots
Kipkay, keep doing these kinds of videos. Make high quality videos on useful things and keep the ads at the end. Its what we all like ;)
filled mine with sand. And used 600 water proof creed led lights. works off my boat battery. basically the same concept cost me $20
Tony McCready what did you plug the extension cord to . Or what battery did U use ??
Alex Nguyen Are you dense?
*"Works off my boat battery."*
KipKay will never get old its so interesting to watch
Always test it BEFORE cementing it.
Nicely done. I like how you used clear PVC.
Hey kipkay, could you try to make a self-made-lightsaber, battery-powered with LEDs or something - since the lightsabers are expensive as hell, you are maybe the one that can provide a cheaper, still great looking version :) greetings!
Been watching this man since I was around 9-10. 18 since May, and the videos are still comin. :) Great to see kip. Also, good to see you're doing well for yourself ! Cheers brotha !
2:50 is some dirty DIY
This actually has so many other potential uses: aquarium light, pool light, mood light, etc, but probably best of all, you can go RGB for a REALLY cool effect :D
2:49 o.0
I like how when you talked about the opinion thing at the end you added "You like to share your opinions here." you snuck that in hoping we wouldn't notice :P I love your channel, I don't make anything you do, but I like to see what you come up with. :D keep being awesome. Keep being you. :D
Kinda looks like a pipebomb... A glowing pipebomb. XD
atomic pipe bomb?
Yupp
my first thought was "good luck explaining this to a cop" lol
As a camping light near your tent
pause at 2:50 tell me what you imagine
Hahahaha 😂 lol
Lol
🍆🍆🍆 lol
You can also use a nine volt battery too.
5:35 that's my comment!!!!!!
Sakonema memes
KipKay will never get old its so interesting to watch ☺
2:49 "snicker"
Two minor differences I would have done: 1) I'd have sprung for the programmable LED light strip so that you could get it to change color. Of course, I'd be using this more for decoration than for attracting fish, so the different use would drive that change. 2) I'd have made sure to use the silicon on the inside of the cap as well before securing it to the tube. Might be overkill, but I figure if you're going to try to make something water tight, might as well take all the steps to lock it down for sure.
isn't it illegal to use lights to fish in some location
Its a safe bet that everything is illegal _somewhere_ in the world
I used to make under water fishing lights years ago by putting a flash bulb and batteries in a small glass jar and sealing it with wax, then putting it in a much larger glass jar, then I'd fill the bigger jar with lake water and minnows to attract fish, worked like crazy. try something like that some time.
That's a great idea.
flash light bulb i mean ;)
That makes sense, ha.
I prefer to use electricity instead. All you have to do is collect the fish afterwards.
Make this thing with white leds and you've got a cheap, bright, low power and waterproof camping light!
2:51
Make one with a hook so you could hang it and clips so you can use it on just a car battery.
I tried with sinking 10 green mt dew bottles with green glow sticks in them. Fish for 8 hours. NOT ONE SINGLE BITE
only super cheap cause you had the clear pvc already. that stuff is 5x the cost of regular pvc otherwise.
you must do more fishing DIY projects! I absolutely love this.
Dollar Store+Cheap glowsticks=portability
Fletch Hunter Battery = Portability....
I treat Kipkay like how I treat Buzzfeed. I watch their videos because they're creative and cool, but never try them lol. Love you Kipkay :)
Anyone notice something at 2:34 ?
You guys have dirty minds!
Right.
+Rocky what about it?
what is it?
Listen carefully.
at minute 2:51 I got so childiddish cuz I saw something inappropriate 😂😂😂
OH JEAH I AM AT A LAKE .... HANG ON I HAVE MY POWERPLUG HERE
You could adapt this to be solar powered (or something similar) and use it for camping. It would light up a room in a tent for sure
It worked I cought a massive fish
you're amazing kipkay, and your throwing shade is amazing
will this help me catch pokemon?
XD Best comment here.
+Nitsuj 2122 if only it were original...
(This has already been posted here like 50 times...)
If they were water-types, then yes!
MAGICARP
+Wolfendesign How about evolved ones?
-Vaporeon-
if the light change color that would be sweet.
That would be smart for different kinds of fish, or different conditions. Plus, it would look really cool.
dirty mind test at 2:49
ahhh I love this video reminds me of the old laser lovin' Kipkay
looks like a green candy cane
Darren Rainey Vulcan barber pole, because Vulcans have green blood. *Live long and prosper.*
I'd make loads of these in different color to illuminate my pool and have awesome time there with my friends
2:49 hehe
JJ Watt omfg lol
JJ Watt
hahaha he did it on purpose 😂
HI kip kay I don't know why but I've been watch your videos since the fog machine and the LED ice cubes I just wanted to say that you are a genius and you have inspired me to learn circuits boards ands LEDS keep uploading video
Mabe you can use a glow stick lol
This was an amazing video kip!
Electrocuted my whole family in the pool.
with 800mA? Impressive.
+OGC GR33N it's probably a joke
Maybe he used something like microwave oven transformer and didn't seal the pipe?
+Sahko Pete The high voltage transformer I mean
Kipkay you are an amazing person and i love your videos, they are so original and quirky and i love to see all your videos
does this work with pokémon?
yes
Bob M Tyranny Destroyer Bass Covers alright, good, I'll make like 10 of these.
+Peter Lombardi go away
Charles Nevin :p
For a mobile use, you can put batteries instead of the wights inside the tube and attach a switch to the cap.
I modified it: s5.postimg.org/k9kg7263r/led_lightstick.png
Idk how well everything would fit together or if it would even work though
