    This WVU offense is gonna electric but from what I saw in the spring game and from what I've been hearing, the defense might be better. Im gonna go out on a limb and say LB and CB will be the most improved positions in 2024.

    Tough schedule for the Mountaineers. If they can get to their first bye week with a 3-1 record they should feel pretty good.

    Not sure Sully Weidman and the backups are as good as the starters on the O-line. The D-line answer I agree with.

    Corner is unproven but I think it’s going to be a strength. Hollis, Garnes, and Tarnue are all very talented and the depth behind them is deep. WVU may not have a dominant #1 WR, but they have 6 WRs with all different talents that can all beat you. Did Jaheim White even get a mention during this entire interview?

    WVU is going to run the ball. We ran the ball well last year and we will have, by all indications, a successful running game again this year. The offense's inherent identity will be all about the run, ball control, limiting turnovers and the ability for Greene to hit intermediate throws in order to move the chains and/or score in the red zone. They will consistently impose that identity on defenses. I think the real surprise for opposing teams will be just how explosive our offensive unit can be under a seemingly conservative identity.

    The line is 6.5. Definitely going with the over. I believe HCNB has a little something special ready for Penn St, and if the eers shock the world that afternoon, the sky is the limit.

    PSU = UPSET WIN
    Albany = WIN
    Pitt = WIN
    Kansas = WIN
    Okie St = Close Loss
    IowaSt = Win
    KState = WIn
    Arizona = Win
    Cincy = Win
    Baylor = Win
    UCF = Win
    Texas Tech = Close Loss
    WVU misses out on playing in the BIG12 Championship due to the head to head loss against OkieSt, but still make the CFP(Mainly due to a #8 SoS. Also, both of their losses are two+to quality bowl teams in close games, with a top 10 win over PSU)... Utah & OkieSt play in the BIG12 Title. Utah wins and gets bye. #8 SoS will allow WVU to play in the CFP without playing in the BIG12 Title.

      You just don’t watch football if you think WVU beats PSU but loses to OKST and Texas Tech… PSU destroyed WVU last year and has arguably better talent on their bench than WVU has in their starting lineup. Why would WVU beat a team like PSU and lose to a much worse team like Texas Tech?

    • @brianmiller1977
      @brianmiller1977 Месяц назад

      @@Hugefootballguy Both OkieSt & TT are on the road and have quality home field advantages. OkieSt's home record the last X years is pretty strong, and TT is known to be a hard place to play due to the crazy wind in that stadium. Brown's record on the road is also a good bit weaker than at home. Its possible to beat a higher ranked team at home and lose to a couple lower ranked teams on the road. Obviously you dont watch football or youd know that happens every single year and is quite common. WVU isnt a team that can just dominate quality opponents. They have to play a smart & efficient game. Variables matter bro, and yes I think PSU is better than OkieSt and TT, but WVU isnt playing PSU in Week 5 or Week 12 on the road. They are playing PSU at home the very first game of the season with PSU having 2 new coordinators and a fresh OL that will all need time to gel and find their rhythm+timing.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if WVU has a great season. I wouldn’t be surprised either if it was a bad year. Lots of questions on defense.

    WVU can't parallel park a car as long as Neal Brownspot is sitting sitting in the drivers seat. Fire him or shove him down the stairs, either way get rid of him.

    This breakdown is why I hate Chris Anderson. Do you even cover the Mountaineers Chris ? Did you seriously have the balls not to bring up Traylon Ray ? And you down play the talent we’ve taken in in the defensive backfield. Ayden Garnes is a star waiting to happen and had no business playing at Duquesne.
