TCU has the potential to win the Big 12. They are the standout team in the conference and have a strong brand in college football. Historically, they have performed well against PAC-12 teams, despite last season's challenges. If they can strengthen their defense and get their offensive line in top form, TCU will be a formidable opponent.

Nah man. I don’t think that’s true at all on some of the things stated. I do believe that they better go 8-4 or 9-3 and beat SMU in the process among other colleges on the schedule. But they are not conference championship contenders at all. Sonny Dykes needs to prove at the top level of college football he is not one-year wonder and all other seasons barely bowl eligible or sub bowl caliber. Sonny needs to go another 7-8 years before he has a season where it flirts with being a losing season. He needs to prove this season and the next three seasons that the 5-7 season was the fluke and not the run to the bitch-slapping beat down by a real school football team in the national championship game two years ago. That is the truth. 8-9 wins and a solid bowl victory against a quality opponent would be pivotal for this team this year.

Tcu since been in big 12 has been down as ups. I never been big on sonny. One thing I feel hurt tcu is smu made a p4 conf. That hurts recruiting in metro plex.
I will say tcu went big for lineman last year. 5 portal and 5 hs.
That's the deal with sonny. Can he win with average talent. He won a lot of close games in 2022.

@@robertpearce4316 SMU in the ACC will likely hurt them. Look at schools that cross regions when changing conferences; it's always hurt them for recruiting. They have 1-4 good years with remnant players, but then their wins drop. Couple that with the ACC's chaotic status and I don't think the great players will go there. Currently they have recruited 1 4-star and 9 3-stars. TCU has recruited 3 4-stars and 17 3-stars. (Both according to ESPN.)
Having stated that, this is my "cautiously optimistic" year with Sonny Dykes. Although, I'm really hoping Kendall Briles improves or gets tossed.

SMU recruiting well would be good for TCU if they would keep playing each other and build off the rivalry. There are recruits to go around, both schools need to draw as much national attention as they can and heated rivalries get you better TV slots. Both being good is good for both.

Chandler Morris is gone and Josh Hoover was better than him (Morris just had connections). So it's either Hoover or a QB that's better than Hoover.

Fire Dykes, and hire Jason Whitten. Last year, TCU was soft; Colorado exposed TCU weakness. Under Dykes, they will continue to be soft

TCU has the most talented roster if you look at recruiting rankings of every player on the projected 2024 roster of each team. They’re in year two of their offense and defense should be much improved under Avalos.
I am not saying they do win it, but they certainly can if things go right.
