For once, I liked something Kannell said. The Chick-fil-ACC has a nice ring to it 😂 I also liked the resurrected Southwest Conference idea. Heard that on Late Kick. If not that, the Big XII should become the What-A-Conference. I saw someone say McDonald’s should buy the MAC rights.

SMU will go 7-5 at best or maybe 8-4 but 5-7 or 6-6 is reasonable and expected. It will take SMU a few years for multiple reasons. They will be bowl eligible regulars but will be by year 4 before a conference contender and that depends on the configuration of the ACC at that point in time.

Whelp, I keep giving Cover 3 a chance every couple months and it consistently loses my respect. It was Danny this time just pandering for clicks by picking Nebraska as a dark horse in the B1G.😂
Why do I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt? That’s on me. I’ve learned my lesson and I’ll find somewhere else to get logical takes based in reality.👋🏻✌🏻

Well, along with Nebraska, many former Big Ten West Division teams are sleeper teams because they return a ton of production (Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin). I will be making videos about all of those teams soon.

That is why everyone incessantly talks about a program that hasn’t been to a bowl game since the Obama administration, right? Perennial offseason national title champs! Meanwhile, other programs in the conference have taken real strides on and off the field and don’t get any press. It’s all pandering for clicks. Not an Iowa fan btw.

Ga. Tech certainly proved everyone wrong by posting that juggernaut-like 7-6 record last year. Given that it was its first winning record since 2018 and the school hasn't won more than 8 regular season games in almost a dozen years, I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would doubt this program. I mean, it's apex was just a scant few years ago during that six-year stretch in the '50s! 🤣

I think Colorado is gonna go 8-4 or 9-3 so they’re my dark horse to win the Big 12. Shedeur is going to have a Joe Burrow-lite type season and they’ll be able to outscore most of the big 12 even if the defense is only a little improved.

Ya gotta love an "I'm old school" guy who has a history of not raising an opposing voice ("It's inevitable") on every issue that has led to - that we KNEW would lead to - what many see as the destruction of an enjoyable college football product over the last decade. And, once those changes happen, he almost always comes with some variation of, "We have to accept that this is the landscape now," kind of acknowledging that something is a negative but pretending no voices could have been raised and that nothing could have been done.
It didn't have to be the landscape. And most people who believe that so many things are "inevitable" are simply spotlighting a lack of imagination, foresight or thoughtfulness.
I'm not sure that's quite balanced out when, on a college football podcast, we are treated to a solid 5-10 on a person's home life, kids and gambling, but to each his own. I just look for the hero who posts a time stamp to skip to.
    Take care.

With the exception of the tongue-in-cheek Illinois stuff, I find Tom to generally be the most principled one on the show.
Then again, we both recognize that playoff expansion is the exact opposite of what you would do if you wanted the best chance to crown a legit national champion. That goes a long way.
It even makes up for me disagreeing with him regarding whether the current product is better. At least, he will say the FOOTBALL must be better and doesn't usually go any further, while I take the product as a whole, and if the postseason, recruiting, transferring, etc., are farcical, I can't really say I find it to be a more enjoyable enterprise than it was even a half dozen years ago.
      Take care.
