    Keto Alcohol Cheatsheet
    1. Cocktails and Sugary Mixes - highest in carbs
    2. Beers and Ciders - high in carbs
    3. Flavoured Spirits - still quite high in carbs
    4. White Wine - moderate to high carbs
    5. Red Wine - moderate in carbs
    6. Rum, Cognac and Brandies - edging higher
    7. Whiskey, Scotch, Bourbon - quite low
    8. Vodka, Tequila, and Gin - the lowest in carbs and the best drinks for keto
All in all, any more than 1-2 drinks will definitely be bad for ketosis
I don't drink but maybe it helps
    Thanks!

A drink once in a while is not going to hurt your fat loss goals long term. It could actually be a positive since you may stay on your diet plan longer , instead of feeling deprived and depressed. Be sensible, have a few drinks , laugh , have fun, drink water , sleep and then go straight back onto your plan the next day.

Single malt Scotch is my preference. I can sip it neat and keep any negative impact on my body small. I really love the peated stuff that gives a nice smokey and savory taste. Just a tiny sip held in the mouth to savor the complexities of the liquid. It's so good, but I will do this much more sparingly while I'm dieting.

My absolute favorite (mostly 'guilt-free') drink when I want to indulge is:
    >Tequila >Unsweetened sparkling water >Fresh squeezed lime juice >Liquid stevia >Sea salt.
This makes for an amaaazingly refreshing beverage that isn't loaded with sugar, carbs, and other junk. (And is better than any margarita I've ever had...) Try it out! (But be careful....they go down fast.;)

I’ve been on Keto for 2 months now and didn’t drink for the first month. When I started drinking, I was literally only taking tequila shots, nothing else. Never affected my Ketosis as I still maintained high fat in my diet. I suppose it could be also down to the fact that I didn’t go overboard with the drinking.

I have just started to get in to more of a keto style of eating as ANY carbs (even the good ones) bloat me so bad and give me bad stomach aches. I have leaned out so much since cutting them right down and focusing on fats. I cut my drinking down to once a month at the beginning of this year and only ever drink vodka or whisky on the rocks anyway but I have been worried about how this would impact the whole ketosis process. I don't want to cut out my once a month drinks as I do enjoy them. This video has really helped. Thank you :)

If you miss beer then set aside 2 days a month where you drink beer and eat carbs. You should have a refeed day every couple of weeks to keep your hormones in check anyway.

I quit on life... I’m on my journey back....if you can’t support that then that’s your choice but very few people are as fit as Thomas... I follow him but not because he’s ripped but because he’s extremely knowledgeable... and I know that getting tips and advice from multiple sources is also extremely beneficial

Going Gonzo - keep going man. I don't make nutrition videos and I'm not successful like he is either but you do what you know you want to do and help people with and those Few likes or comments about being helped and thanking you is at least to me worth it. If you don't stop you will keep piling them on. Maybe not as fast, but stay true to what you believe like it seems Thomas does and you will keep getting better. Make small comments or jokes (if that's your normal personality) and just start letting yourself show through in your videos like I'm trying to do now. I have lapses and times I don't have videos to make too. Hope it helps GG.

Miller 64 is 2.8 % alcohol and 2.3 carbs. Not bad. I'm a beer drinker who is losing weight and I just started drinking 64. I'll move to select 55 once I get used to the watered down 64. It just makes me feel better to have a couple beers at night. Non alcoholic is just too low alcohol and in the back of my mind I know it's not alcohol. Keep in mind i was drinking ipa's and avoiding light beer and getting drunk or buzzed every night for a bout 3 years. I gained 60 lbs. Now I'm down 20 In 2 months, 40 more to get where I was and then another 10 and then maintenance for life. I plan to continuously lower my beer Intake to zero.

@@mobydickhead1 I look at non alcohol beers and though they only have.5 or less alcohol, but they have way more carbs than Miller 64 or Bud Select 55.

    • @zihuatanejo8933
      @zihuatanejo8933 6 лет назад +3

I follow his videos closely, and I believe it’s on the order of hours rather than days. The liver needs to process the toxic alcohol before it can continue on with its happy ketone processing, and that’s more like 2-3 hours rather than 2-3 days. My understanding is alcohol doesn’t throw you out of ketosis (spirits being better than wine or beer or, God forbid, a margarita or five, where you get into carbs that are truly worrisome), but it puts the fat-burning engine in neutral for a varying length of time.

I do keto and IMF. I try to schedule my workouts, cardio or walks to finish close to the end of my fast. Is this smarter or dumber than doing excercise earlier in the fast, or is there no real difference? I do it to, in theory, burn more fat during my excercise and I have no problems with energy or strength doing it this way.
