Great vid bro...love the break down and diagnostics on steering issues. Talk to me about the wheels on the car at around 13 minutes - they look mean, what are they?
Cheers. Those I 3d printed and painted silver. They do look nice especially in black. I got the file off thingyverse. Took a few attempts but managed to print them to run with drift wheels. Easier to print for rubber. 👍🏽
@@GarageMiniRCUK That's amazing man! I'm trying to get my head round 3D printing - I'm not to good with programs, so I thought maybe a scanner 3D printer would be better for me. I'm mainly going to print mini z items. Which 3D printer would you recommend?
I got an ender 3 for Christmas2018 it's about £190 and worth every penny. I learnt how to use cad cam fusion 360 (free if put it in kids at school name) and have downloaded stuff off the Internet to print. Scanning required a really good scanner to get detail.
@@GarageMiniRCUK That sounds interesting - I've been wanting to 3D print a Dukes of Hazard General lee. I did see a program on cad but I didn't want to go out of my depth with a complicated machine. I take it your quite tech savvy - how complicated is it for a newbie?
I'm practically minded and cad cam is like technical drawing. You can download fusion 360 for free and try it out. Lots of RUclips videos to teach you how to use it. Once you've done that the 3d printer is more about how you set it up practically (getting build plate level) then it's just learning settings... Again good youtube content to help. Depends what you want to make, I use it for wheels, servo mounts, custom tie bars... Not so much steering knuckles... But adapters and static plastic parts. I use it lots for custom mini z front mounts and side clips.
Hey garage rc! Everytime my MA-020 hits something, some parts of the front wheel detach. It mostly detaches from the tie bar, chassis and diff. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
Maybe it is just wearing out, not sure, my awd mini z was driving just fine the day before yesterday, then it just started losing its steering, it doesnt swing out the way it should. Is it mad at me for getting the k989?
Can you drift with the kyosho mini z rwd M03 chassis as I am looking at getting on due to the fact, that the kyosho mini z awd are out of stock in the uk
I have the mini z evo awd in stock. Let me know what you are after. I'll see if I can get it in. I have shipment of gla and mini z arriving next week. My website goes live in about 3 weeks but I can do an order via PayPal. 👍🏽
Hey Garage Rc! I have been drifting my MA-020 lately and sometimes when I hit a wall even if its just a touch, the front right wheel detaches. It detaches from the chassis, tiebar and drive shaft. The spring in the front right sometimes comes out too. Is there anything I can do to fix that?
Check you haven't lost your front clip. It's a small black clip that holds the bar thst holds wishbone to car. If you want you can send a picture to the @garageRCUK Facebook page of the wheel off.
Just when I thought I could escape, you pull me back in(searching for diff tester) . Yes the "title text" I noticed this morning after I'd uploaded. Note to self.... do not edit after drinking Moscow mules in the sun. 😂
Depends if you have your own radio already and if you want to build one . To build the atomic amz with hyperbell steering upgrade is great. If you want something ready built and not too concerned with type of body it has a wl k989 is cheap and fun. A mini z ma020s is great but costs the most but you will need one with a gyro.
@@GarageMiniRCUK I pulled the pin on a 969 pretty cheap figured its a good starting point. Anything to upgrade or do to them to get them where they need to be?
Pretty good really. Just tidy up the drive train. Watch one of beaver's videos on suspension and drive train on k989. It's a good start but you might want to get better drift tyres and wheels like miniz awd wheels and drift tyres. See how you go first.
Solid tips, great detailed explications. I especially enjoyed the tip on wobbling wheels Regarding the swing shafts, did the new Aurora shafts fix the binding problem? I saw those a few months ago, but they only allow a few extra degrees so I didn’t think it was worth it. Have you seen the GLA swing shafts? They are double jointed so it should prevent any binding. I want to pick some up when I get a chance: gl-racing.com/store/gla-options-c-6/double-joint-drive-shaft-v3-spring-steel-long-1-pair-p-348.html
It made a big difference on bz3, I've not had this issue on ve Pro or evo. But I'll try them in ma020. Hadn't thought of it yet 😂 I'm going to get the gla ones and do a group test 😉 now you've suggested it. Hope you are keeping well. Ps we might be getting a cat. There is some English blue type one that shed less hair.
Thanks for showing how to shim the ma020 front wheels. It works great, I put my shim on the inside of the wheel.
Thanks 👍🏽

Best comment, 🤣
Check all joints. No hair tangled up etc. Check wheels not loose or too tight again. Check tyres not lost slippy drift etc.
@@GarageMiniRCUK im going to see if my local shop has some new tyres, they got s huge stock of the mini-z cars, they must have something for them.
Can tell me the brand of the tool you use to take nut tire off ?
Please and thank you
I got it off ebay I'll find the link and put it on here later.
is it normal that the front wheels on my ma 020 are not aligned the same ? The right wheel is off to the right and the left wheel is straight
Try checking each wheel is not loose. Adjust trim until both align same.
What nut driver are using?
Got it off ebay

Def not. I've tried all sorts of mods but just not built for it. Won't be long before we get them back in stock. It's (mr03) strictly a racer. 😔
@@GarageMiniRCUK Thanks for letting me know

Where did you get that shell?
I think that one is from a Japanese importer.
Got a brand new ma-020 and the servo is pretty noisy at neutral and chatters. That normal?
Yes. Although trim may be off

Garage RC i have lost the clip a couple of times but found it. it appears to be loose
Garage RC The front clip has been falling off a lot, it is not secured
Garage RC even if the clip was still on, a little earlier i found out that it still detaches
Ok send me a little video so I can see why it's happening either to the face book or instagram. Then I can help fix it. Show me where it comes off.
'title text here'
so while i am convincing you to buy things, skyrc has a diff tester on banggood as well
