    I'm 68 years old 6 feet tall and I ride it every day full tanks 130 miles without stopping. I can't wait to ride it and love it on tracks. Did COTA last year the day after the Moto GP and rode all seven sessions. Had so much fun I'll be there the end of May for two days. The bike is incredible at the Tail of the Dragan but I do trailer the 630 miles to get there.

    I'll turn 70 next year. This bike could keep me happy until the day I die. And yes it's the sound! I've had the opportunity to handle some incredible machines in my life. The relationship between my brain and my throttle hand is a well tuned thing.

    I've had the 19 RR model since new. Put roughly 8000 miles on it so far and it still puts a grin on my face every time I ride it. Some of the negatives you speak of (with respect to ergonomics) can be easily rectified with a set of dropped pegs and foot controls. Money saved with the base model goes a long way toward modifying the bike to suit the rider. 100% chance of a bad decision every time you ride... It's for dads that are former sportbike guys who refuse to grow up and get a bagger. haha

      My 19 RR has 16,000 mile Tires and Chain and Sprockets is all I've done . I put a 40 tooth back sprocket to gear it up a bit and love the change it made, 1/4 inch longer wheel base and bit taller 1st and 2nd helps it launch better.

      @@seandeterman2499 I haven't changed anything on the bike but I stretch every day in the morning. I have a 22 base model Tuono and lowered the foot pegs 1'' and extended the toe peg 1'' and it's a lot better. I also added a comfort seat. It's an amazing bike with an intoxicating sound. I do find myself hitting triple digits way too often but it's just so damn fun. It's not good in traffic however so I stick to the country roads. It does run hot with that hyperactive Italian V-4. So, it's not an all rounder by any means but it excels in it's space.

    I'm 6' and my everyday ride was the last gen tuono v4 until recently. It is by far my favorite bike I've ever owned. Buuut I came to the realization that I didn't need that much. Even tho it was amazing every blip is over 100. I will say for me it was super comfortable and I put many 8 hour ride days on it. Miss that thing.

    Sitting first up at a red light, center lane on my little ninja400. Completely unaware of the VR4 which joined my ride and was sitting caddy corner to me, whisper quiet. That is until the light turned green and it whipped past me like a damn jet despite my accelerating "promptly" (yeah I get it, i'm not riding a launch monster). The lack of sound, the refined symphony from exhaust on demand, quickness and overall impression of the bike was incredible. Dude slowed down and we BS'd for a minute, totally cool rider with an awesome machine.

    Up here in New Hampsha' when the weather isn't snow and ice or pouring down rain(although I have ridden in that a few times) I ride my 2018 ZX10R daily. I take it back and forth to work and also 100-300 mile day trips when I have time(and of course the occasional track day). If I had that Tuono V4 I would ride that every day. It's not the comfort the makes these bikes so desirable to ride, it's the feelings they stir up, the therapy they so lovingly supply. I agree with the several other "older" riders that have commented on how much they love it, and I'm a "younger" rider at 56. 😁
    We are all unique in what we love/hate and I am so grateful there are so many different motorcycles to choose from.
    I do want to thank you Papa Yam and Spite for trying (and failing) to convince us we should not have this amazing motorcycle for our "daily driver". 😉
    Thanks and keep yourselves safe! 😃👍❤🏍

    There is no such thing as too much power for the street. It is the rider who controls the throttle, want to ride at a reasonable speed - just apply less. Also, unless you live in Switzerland, not all of the back road as runway-smooth, and you do need the electronic suspension on the bumpy roads. Btw this bike does come with the passenger seat (at no extra cost) it is small and hard, but it is not the plastic cover that you guys mocked in this video (it is a cover - decoration). I am 50 years old, 6,1 and use this bike as a daily commuter (in a very congested traffic) I also use it for 5-6 hours trips around the country-side, no issues at all. When I want to do long distance touring I choose GS or the RT, that being said, super-nakeds are generally bought by the people who own more than one bike (just like a sports car). Love your channel btw! :)

  • @DarkestVibez
    @DarkestVibez 2 года назад +6

    The appeal of this bike for me is just how fuckin cool it is. I really don’t care if it’s good for the street or whatever, I want one just because it speaks to me. Same reason I want the Superduke.

    • @iTxip
      @iTxip 2 года назад +1

      Btw its awesome for the street. To me its like this, I will put up with the slightly annoying things about it (riding in slow traffic, city, poor mpg, agressive footpeg height etc...) because when you get to a nice twisty road you will forget about all that and just laugh in your helmet about how ridiculously good it is.
      I have done long trips on it with friends and when you are in a boring straight road you will look at your friend in his full-on touring BMW and think "that looks comfy", but the second the road gets fun I dont want to be on a GS... I want my tuono.

  • @TheFrogTales
    @TheFrogTales 2 года назад +4

    So i'm not sure about other places, but here in quebec there's a huge difference in the cost of owning a Sport bike like the RSV4 vs a "Naked" like the Tuono. The registration of sport bikes is 2k a year vs naked are 700. Insurance is cheaper too so the Tuono has become incredibly popular here in Montreal since you're getting a sport bike without paying the costs of a sport bike

    S = Sport
    T = Track
    R = Race
    So the softest riding mode is Sports. But being Aprilia, you can't be too sure. Had a shiver 750 few years ago and the modes were: R: Rain, T: Tour, S: Sports.

    I'll keep commenting on this every time I see you guys act mystified about the passenger seat: That's not the passenger seat. That part is removable and there's a pillion seat that goes in place of it. I take my son or my girlfriend 2up quite often on my RSV4.

    The fuel light comes on at 76 miles - my previous generation comes on at 100 miles. I know it has a smaller tank, but either value is pretty poor when you're out for a spirited ride. Everything else about it rocks. But it's a fun toy. My BMW S1000R can do anything and a 145 mile range.

I do also have unmonitred long roads where u can get this thing to 150 np lol so it's perfect for me plus flexing is a plus some 600 squid always trying to race then says I will see u on the track when he gets beat this vid was why I bought the bike it was my determining factor lol

    Before tuono i had superduke 990 with 140hp and that bike is hard to ride normaly or in town its mental its on/off bike. Tuono is much smoother and much easier to ride if you have much miles in your right ankle. For me tuono is perfect daily 🥰

  • @AmokOnTwoWheels
    @AmokOnTwoWheels 2 года назад +4

    Your video is a little misleading in parts. That isn't the pillion seat, the correct seat is supplied at the time of purchase.
    That bleh bleh bleh noise you get at idle sometimes is because you have removed the exhaust valve and not by design, why in particular I don't know but mine does the same thing. Sounds pretty cool though.
    I have found the Tuono to be right at home as a daily, I ride it most days to work which is about a 30min commute on both residential and highway roads. The ability to change the suspension settings on the fly with a couple of taps on the controls makes it so much more enjoyable to ride. Our roads are good but perhaps not as good as yours? So that could explain the set and forget mentality? Not everyone is blessed with racetrack quality roads to get them to work. lol
    The bike can be ridden sedately and is more than at home being ridden as a "street bike" but the reality is you won't want to ride it like that. It just does so many things so damn good... and that noise!!!! Eargasms for days. :-D
    Not down on you at all just wanted to clarify a couple of points. Take care.
