After crashing my cbr600rr at3 months for my first bike, my second bike was a 1994 Honda magna 750. Great bike, V4 sounds insane. Then I bought a cbr1000rr and a grom, but I still have my magna lol.
My dad had a monster in the garage for a huge part of my childhood, and it’s what made me get an sv650 as a first bike because of the similar look of the frame. Wish he still had it laying around
Everyone now thinks thier 12 year old bike with 25k miles is worth 10k somehow. To be fair ive watched a bunch of bikes like that sit on FB for a year and the seller still wont budge on price so its not like they are selling
One day Yam is describing a decreasing rider base represented in Gen Z; a few days later he’s talking about discontinued bike prices going up. If the former remains true, and the rider median age continues to creep upwards, chances are good that used prices for sport bikes will trend downward as the backs and knees of riders beg for bikes with more relaxed riding postures than the ones featured here. Even he rides an ADV bike now.
Just traveled from Midland Tx to Nashville Tn and back to pick up a nice cbr900rr I am restoring. Late 90's early 2000s bikes are absolutely wonderful.
One important factor: PARTS AVAILABILITY. Models that were sold in large numbers will be the easiest .. and often cheapest... to repair. Buy an older niche bike... you may be scrambling to find pieces.
20 years ago I bought an abused 1986 Honda VFR750 Interceptor for $1200. After putting about $2000 into it I have a perfectly restored bike. I did most of the work myself to keep costs down. I've put over 25,000 miles on it. Still a great running bike with over 56,000 miles on it. I've ridden it to almost every state with lots of touring gear on it. Love the Honda V4 motor.
I think specific Indian FTR models will go up in price. That backyard trellis frame, V twin engine, and flat track design are a very nice combination. However, I think they were pressured to throw the baby out with the bath water when dropping down to a 17in front and chopping the suspension travel. The bike went from 'class of its own' to 'heavy wanna-be naked made by Americans'. The 19in fronts with the flat track inspired treads will be a classic, watch.
@@LowQualityPigeon I'll tell ya people sleep on the H2 SX and the Z H2. Their values drop like any other bike but with the right mods you can get them to damn near the same power as a modded H2. @dilanfdd Basicly exactly what I'm looking for. Kind of like the half fairing. I need something with less prestige and power than my VFR for winter riding, but more better than a 390 Duke. How does it fare against rust? My KTM loves to rust.
@@nonyabusiness4151 ha! I’m not gonna lie, this morning my front brake callipers were a bit seized which wasn’t ideal, and overall the bike has quite a bit of rust on it but this is what I get for buying a 21 year old bike with 7 previous owners. The UK is also notoriously rainy. I’ve been riding it since July, put down around 4K miles on a 46k engine and it’s not really let me down.

It’s such an underrated bike. Its smoothness and stability at any speed is almost unparalleled in the bike world. The weight feels really good and never feels too heavy. The torque is so good it can go from 40 -180 in 6th gear. Its only real flaws are the non adjustable front suspension, linked brakes, and lack of a way to switch to GP shift. Other than that, incredible streetbike even in 2025. It’s less than half the price of a comparable year hayabusa and it’s definitely not half the bike.
Hey Yammie: I really enjoy your page very much. I believe the Suzuki Bandit 1250 water cooled will also be a model who will start to creep up in demand in a few years. I have a 2011 model with 102,000 miles in it and young riders still stop me in the street to ask me about it.

RC51’s were 10-12k when new. Mint, low mileage RC’s with OE fairings are going for 9-15k where I’m at. I always liked the RC51, but the practicality aspect held me back. Then I figured out a good excuse to own one, it’s an investment! I doubt it will ever be as collectible as the RC30, but values are going up and there aren’t many unmolested models out there to choose from. So now I have one, no, I don’t want to talk about insurance cost.
Got mine for $7k last year. And had to get aftermarket fairings for mine sadly, OEM are $500 or more per fairing. I think I'm paying $180 for minimum liability.

It seems Euro trail bikes, like Bultaco, Maico, Montessa, etc, from the 70s sell for about 10 times their original cost - if you can find one. They are real collectors' items now. I'd love to have one just to bash about in the bush with zero sophistication = premix fuel, no brakes, stone age suspension, no electrics, carby from hell and whacky powerband. Heaven!
Any of the Ducati 916 family are sky rocketing in value. My 1998 748 was acquired about 4 years ago for AUD$5.5K. I sold it 2 years later for $8K. Now it's impossible to find one for under $10k and quite a few are being offered for around $15K with significant miles/Ks on the clock. A bike I know will skyrocket is any '05-'06 zx6r that isn't modified for stunt use. It's honestly sad to me how many of them are basically worthless and useless because of stunt modding.
How about a Honda super hawk. Those are a cool V twin bike back about the same time as the RC 51 was being produced. You hardly ever see them in good condition for sale.
ha the american market got ripped when it came to the SP-1 (rc51). In Europe and Asia the horsepower was 137 to 140 and had about 107Nm or torque. And in Asia and Europe it was sold from the beginning of 2001 to 2003 (rc51) and from 2003 to 2006 (rc52). And between the Ducati 998 and Honda RC the RC is better in the fact you can put fuel and a fresh battery in it and ride away. While I'm sad to say that you just can't do that with older Ducati's.
I’ve owned a 696 and I’d say it’s better to spend slightly more money to get a well taken care of monster but the biggest problem I had was oil leaks. Just make sure all the gaskets are where they should be but other than that i had no problems with it and 100% think it’s probably one of the best bikes out there
1 cylinder for motorcycles...4 cylinders for automobiles...6 cylinders for trucks! In the tight twisties and short mountain straights, I think my RC390GP will hang for awhile and see if the big, fast Gixer dudes will catch up...or they crashed...or went too slow and the police are tearing their bikes apart, looking for the medication they should be taking 😀..life begins at 100 now that I'm 70..when I was young, I went fastr!
How can Yammie make a vid about there being less and less bikers but then make a vid about bikes that will go up in price? Isn't that counterintuitive with each other? If there's less and less riders, then the value of bikes will decline as there will be less demand.
If you need timeless bike you can make 4 cylinder or 3 cylinder inline and or crossplane 250 cc or smaller and I can almost granty you it will sell like hot cakes because small displacement engines are cheap to make and has small carbon footprint and still has beautiful sound to it
Yammie when you say motorcyclists are decreasing or growing what are you going by? Like motorbikes sold? If so it would be inaccurate since people buy their first bike second hand like myself, also if you read this, what do you think was it a bad idea to start on an FZ6 for me? I live in Ireland and drove manual for like 8 years before jumping on a bike and also once I hopped on one it felt natural for me and also the fz6 is probably the best starter 600 cc imo as it is so tamed
Unless you have 'throw away' money, buy the bike that flips your switch. And if you mostly or only ride on the street, buy a bike that makes sense for you and is comfortable to ride, or will be once you augment it the way you want. For most people, the bikes in this video are *not* that bike!
Honestly when it comes to any type of transport, motorcycles are the best purchase ever when it comes to depreciation. I live in the Netherlands and the prices are actually insane😂😂. Last night I saw a Kawasaki ninja 400 from 2017 with 30k miles for €800 more than it was from the factory. ( yes they are discontinued but still! ) Even a Honda cbr650r from 2020 with 18k miles, which goes for €50 less than brand new, it’s actually insane. Like how does the bikes only loose €50 when it did 13k miles and is 4 years old??? Idk if it’s just where I live or it’s everywhere but motorcycles just don’t seem to depreciate AT ALL. I’m looking for a beginner motorcycle with around 50/60hp. And there is nothing to be found under €6.000/7.000, maybe something from 2010 but even those are hard to find. It’s so sad!
Compared to car motorcycle is actually decent purchase. When buying used something like 5 year old bikes keeps it value pretty well. Same with 10 year old bike. The depreciation is not even close to cars. That being said bike is not a smart financial purchase.
If I were to be cynical, I'd say that a good investment is basically any of the big bikes from Indian. At some point, that name is going to be too controversial to keep producing bikes under, but the demographic that HAS to have that badge is still going to be there.
The only reason the Daytona 675R wasn’t mentioned was so yammy could buy more for cheap 😂

Was just looking at the 2017-2020 r6 and all they did is go up in both price and miles.
Oh wait you're talking about that now in the video xD
CBR954RR is up there too
and 919
@@moozepatt7525 919 was a "detuned" CB900F engine from the late 90's. Nowhere near as desirable as the 954.
Yammie, I want to get a monster 696, what should I look out for, in terms of issues?
I’ve owned a 696 and I’d say it’s better to spend slightly more money to get a well taken care of monster but the biggest problem I had was oil leaks. Just make sure all the gaskets are where they should be but other than that i had no problems with it and 100% think it’s probably one of the best bikes out there
@@liamfr7918 thnks I'll deffntly check for that!
even though they are cheap to buy the desmo services cost the same as a brand new one.
Indian FTR 1200 will be on this list in a couple of years.
I love it when people get away from the cops, especially with this petty bs
How can Yammie make a vid about there being less and less bikers but then make a vid about bikes that will go up in price? Isn't that counterintuitive with each other? If there's less and less riders, then the value of bikes will decline as there will be less demand.
If you need timeless bike you can make 4 cylinder or 3 cylinder inline and or crossplane 250 cc or smaller and I can almost granty you it will sell like hot cakes because small displacement engines are cheap to make and has small carbon footprint and still has beautiful sound to it
Please make a video of The new 2025 TFC triumph Bonneville bobber ? I would love to hear the sound of their new exhaust! Maybe too much to ask
The triumph 1200rr is officialy retired! Daytona 1200 here we go!
nice video,i'll go for the rs 660 instead.
I know my 954RR shot up in value by £2k bought it for 3k now worth 5k according to the latest appraisal simply because it is the last "Blade"
Unless you have 'throw away' money, buy the bike that flips your switch. And if you mostly or only ride on the street, buy a bike that makes sense for you and is comfortable to ride, or will be once you augment it the way you want. For most people, the bikes in this video are *not* that bike!
Since everyone is broke and our entire economy is about to take a shit you should make more videos on inexpensive used bikes.
Yamaha RZ350 😎
We're gonna need more money for retirement boys
Yammie I couldn’t wait or possibly not get the rs so I bought a 2020 street triple r
I love my 2005 sv650.
The 2nd gen SV650S had great shapes, angles, looks. The 3rd Gen just doesn't hold the same looks, or fuel capacity.
How about the Honda 900, 929, and 954 RR Fireblades?
I found one of those Ducatis on my local swap shop for two grand
I have two of the motorcycles that you have in this list
Honestly when it comes to any type of transport, motorcycles are the best purchase ever when it comes to depreciation. I live in the Netherlands and the prices are actually insane😂😂.
Last night I saw a Kawasaki ninja 400 from 2017 with 30k miles for €800 more than it was from the factory. ( yes they are discontinued but still! )
Even a Honda cbr650r from 2020 with 18k miles, which goes for €50 less than brand new, it’s actually insane.
Benelli Tornado TRE 900 keeps going up in price, I got one :)
Compared to car motorcycle is actually decent purchase. When buying used something like 5 year old bikes keeps it value pretty well. Same with 10 year old bike. The depreciation is not even close to cars. That being said bike is not a smart financial purchase.
Last gen Honda Superhawk/Firestorm VTR 1000.
Busa @0:01
Can you do a special on the hybusa killer please , the zx12r we want to hear it please yammie nooob

I can’t wait to win the TRIUMPH STREET TRIPLE 765 RS! My CB500F is starting to feel a bit slow! lol
Give us an RV4 Yamaha

Rz350
Shhhh don't tell the squids 😊
NAKED BIKE : SUZUKI SV 650 🔥
SPORTS BIKE : YAMAHA R1 🔥
And just forget the rest...
Because these two is the BEST.. 😊
If I were to be cynical, I'd say that a good investment is basically any of the big bikes from Indian. At some point, that name is going to be too controversial to keep producing bikes under, but the demographic that HAS to have that badge is still going to be there.
Ugh, I used to own a brand new 1100 monster evo back in the day! 🤦🏽♂
Yam how bout my 450 smr ktm from 2005 😂😂
