History:
The Nokia 2760 is a clamshell GSM Mobile phone released by Nokia in 2007 and manufactured in Hungary. In the late-2000s (y2k) it was the most popular choice of mobile phone in Finland.
In December 2021, HMD Global announced a re-release of the Nokia 2760. Branded the Nokia 2760 Flip, the phone is to feature KaiOS, USB Type-C, a five-megapixel camera, MicroSD storage and support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as GPS navigation and 4G connectivity.
The Nokia 2780 Flip is essentially the 2760 Flip with an FM radio, and a display however, 0.1 inches smaller.
About KaiOS:
KaiOS is a mobile Linux distribution for keypad feature phones based on Firefox OS. KaiOS runs on feature phones or wireless home phones made with low-power hardware and low power consumption.
KaiOS supports modern connectivity technologies like 4G LTE E, VoLTE, GPS, and Wi-Fi. KaiOS runs HTML5-based apps. KaiOS supports over-the-air updates and has a dedicated app marketplace called the KaiStore. Some applications are preloaded with the phone, including Facebook and RUclips. As of 1 April 2020, there are 500+ apps in the KaiStore. The mobile operating system is comparatively lightweight on hardware resource usage, and is able to run on devices with just 256 megabytes (MB) of memory.
In June 2018, Google invested $22 million in the operating system. That same year, India-based telecom operator Reliance Jio also invested $7 million.
In market share study results announced in May 2018, KaiOS beat Apple's iOS for second place in India, while Android dominates with 71%. KaiOS growth is being largely attributed to the popularity of the affordable JioPhone.
In March 2020, Mozilla and KaiOS Technologies announced a partnership to update KaiOS with a modern version of the Gecko browser engine. This change should give KaiOS support for TLS 1.3, WebAssembly, WebGL 2.0, Progressive Web Apps, new video codecs like WebP, AV1, and modern JavaScript and CSS features.
Older apps require that their developers adapt the apps to this OS version and publish an update to the store. WhatsApp not available anymore for KaiOS v3.

nice review! agree on the "one step forward, two steps back" sentiment regarding KaiOS 3 app support situation lol 😅kinda sad since the phone's design and hardware looks decent (nicer than the Alcatel Go Flip in my opinion)...I think some of HMD's other feature phones like the Nokia 3310, Nokia 5710 XpressAudio, Nokia 6310, Nokia 225 4G are using "Smart Feature OS" which is supposed to be similar to Symbian Series 20 or S30+ which might be faster than KaiOS (and more nostalgic), but probably has even fewer modern apps being supported these days...it's a compromised situation where you win some, lose some, I guess...

But Old Nokia S40 S60 OS will be the best of all time

I use a KaiOS 2.5 device, Whatsapp works but not perfectly, I can use maps, browsers and wtsp but isnt the best device for that
