Exactly. The Eagles have so many different ways to win matchups. If one thing doesn't work; they can do something else. Like they did against Dallas when they needed that clock killing drive with Lane on the sideline. Steelers came in prepared for the stuff they do at the line of scrimmage, got burnt deep. I won't even say they ignored it; AJ was doubled on at least 2 of those plays.

So anyway we’re halfway through the fourth quarter of Week 8 (immediately after you uploaded this) and Jalen Hurts has 4 deep TD passes and 300 yards.
Whoever this Alex Rollins guy is clearly doesn’t know anything about the sport lmao.
The Eagles werent throwing it deep because they were playing teams with a poor run defense.
Now they’re playing a poor pass defense, and guess what? They’re passing! Bozo

Legitmately thought of this video while watching eagles v steelers yesterday. Not sure if this video is was so on the mark that the trend was something the eagles themselves knew about and were trying to correct, or if this video is just dead wrong; I'm going to go with the former. Hurts analyzes his own weaknesses and works to correct them, that is for sure.

The video is based on stats, Hurts hasn't been throwing deep this year. He's got a great deep ball as I said in the video

This video aged like milk after sundays game. 40+ bomb to Brown for a TD in the 1st.
I'd say that qualifies as a deep throw.
Then a "short" 27 yard TD to Brown again in the 2nd. But i guess it was 3 yards from 30 so its a shorty😂

Why do we have to throw deep if we don't have to? Are the defenses he are going against covering the passes? Is he simply taking what the defenses are giving him?

Wow! An Eagles video! What a bonus! I had no idea that teams were playing against the Eagles with a lot of two high safety looks! As an Eagles fan, my defense of the decrease in deep throws has been that the Eagles have not *had* to throw deep to win their last few days. I look at it from the perspective of, if they are marching down the field, chewing up the clock, and grinding teams down with their running game and screens, why risk a possible turnover on a deep pass? As I say that, I also do wonder if they may be trying to focus on runs and screens so much, in order to not just protect the ball, but to keep their defense off the field.

I gotta say, I kinda disagree with this one. We beat the teams that tried to stop the run and dared him to beat them with his arm (Minny & Washington). We mainly used screens against the most blitz-heavy team (Cards) and the one that's the best at generating pressure up front in general (Cowboys), so I don't think it's as much of a staple as you believe it to be.

I remember a similar thing happened with the Pats. Oh, teams wanna play two deep to stop Randy Moss? Simply have Wes Welker revolutionize the slot receiver. Good on the Eagles coaching staff for taking advantage and Hurts for executing. Kid has the tools to get it done.
