Thank you for telling the truth because 97% of all these content creators that said he was trash all said they knew he was gonna be good. When, in fact, they were all saying the Eagles was stupid for trading Wentz.... Hurts is still not a finished product... He's that good...
You are not the only one, I’ve never been so happy to be wrong about my ceiling for a player in my life. I based it on all of the things you mentioned.
Not true. The majority of the fanbase did not think hurts could be a franchise QB. All the talk was the eagles could make a trade up with thier 2 firsts to get a qb for 2023

The Media was wrong for putting false narratives out before they investigated what was wrong at Alabama. They should have asked the players thats in the NFL now. What quarterback was better?
As I said in this episode, I over-emphasized my analysis on the Bucs playoff game. Seemed like when they took away their run game, he couldn't stand up on his own as a QB
Yeah I definitely agree with you on him leaving the pocket too early and not having good reads on his 2nd and 3rd reads. It sucks you get so much backlash because people really hate to hear the truth. I 100% agree with you on the problems he’s still having. And Im a Eagles fan.
It's easy to point out outliers when you don't want to move from being completely wrong. For the most part of the season, he has been going through his progressions this season. We're not even at 40 starts! Does he need to clean it up, sure! But not to the extent, you guys are claiming!

You can't measure a man's heart and willingness to grow...Hurts is a hard worker (who is over critical about fixing his issues) and leads by example for his team to follow. Without him the Eagles can't win. He will prove everyone who doubted him wrong by winning this year's superbowl. Then you guys can all shut up about him.
Yeah its fair to say Hurts improvement and statistical result was on him as well as added marquee/elite talent like AJ Brown. Which allows Hurts to feature his prowess for the deep ball with AJ Brown/DeVonta Smith on 9 routes on the sideline after the run game starts to scare the defense. In similar fashion for the Niners how Brock Purdy stepped in after Jimmy G got hurt and their offense stays consistent because the talent around him is still too good. So you always need those elite guys to have the offense be a threat even when Hurts defaults to bad habits in the pocket. Also his break out is a good case scenario as the Eagles won't have to look at better QB prospects this season with their newfound draft capital (thanks to the Saints).
Jalen never proved me wrong because I wanted him over Carson after 4 games that year. I didn't know Jalen would be this good and I also didn't think we should have drafted a qb after we paid Carson. However once he took the field I said this kid has something. He is a worker. Jalen is so much better than I thought he would be. His inaccuracy wasn't his arm but timing. Once he tuned in he is deadly accurate. Most tds of 20 plus urss this season. People talk about burrow and mahommes like Jalen is supposed to be punished for scoring with his legs in the red zone. Not his fault he can scoot.
His ability to run is a huge asset in a league where many defenses just default to playing braindead base nickel formations against everyone. Eagles is also one of the top teams in getting explosives in the ground game and consequently, made them threats to score in the red zone. So it was a matter of getting their pass offense to be as potent as their run offense in terms of explosives. Way I see it the staff optimized what they saw from Hurts last season and adding AJ Brown as a target made his deep ball game just as more consistent. So while the rest of the league tries to move downfield by attacking the middle of the field, the Eagles can do it running at various angles and just toss deep balls on the outside. And only they can do it that way because of the their O-line talent and Hurts' unique talent as a runner.
Since the Eagles had the 4th ranked offense in the NFL last season, I'm anticipating the videos you'll produce showing the flaws in 28 other QBs games.
Alex I've been watching ur vids since u posted the chiefs vs 49ers super bowl and what I like about ur channel is that u admit yourself that you were wrong like when aaron rodgers had an mvp szn in 2020 and 21 and when justin herbert took off since he became a starter and this video huge respect Alex this channel deserves more subs and more recognition
The talent level won’t drop. Basically everyone on the offense is young, and the only older player without a replacement already on the roster is Lane Johnson. Eagles have an extra 2nd rounder next year so Howie Roseman has the ammo to move up and get a RT if he wants.
you looked at 'tape' and not the person and his personal continual improvement at every level. should be a learning lesson in 'evaluation', the hours a player does or doesn't put in isn't on 'tape'.
Do yall realize that jalen hurts only lost a single game last year in the regular season. And lost only 1 more after that. none the less, with the unit they have now, im scared. They almost broke the sack recorded, now I fear they might repeat a certain aquatic mammal 🐬 record with 1 less loss and 1 more win. This man went went 18-2 at the end of 2022. None one came this close in a long, looooong time. What if he wasn't injured those 2 games? Could it be 20-2? Who knows.
You have to give the Eagles coaches a lot of credit. Last year they retooled their offense on the fly and crafted a running attack that took advantage of Hurts athleticism while simplifying his progressions often utilizing half field reads. Acquiring Brown put the finishing touches on a skill group that now has all the clubs in its bag. The Eagles have continued to make Hurts' progressions fairly basic which is something you can do with an array of pass catching talent that can win against every coverage and the best O line in the league. I am fascinated to see the Chess match with D'amico Ryan's who has very quickly established himself as one of the best coordinators in the league with his own spectacular array of talent to deploy. This is one of the best matchups we've seen in an NFC title game in awhile and will go a long way to cementing Hurts' legacy one way or the other.
@@WhiteG60 I said Ryan's has very quickly established himself as one of the best coordinators in the league. I'd be shocked if he isn't offered a head coaching job this off-season. Last year the Niners were ravaged by injuries on D with the secondary in particular down to starting street free agents. As a first time coordinator he not only kept them afloat but had them a dropped pick away from the Superbowl. They are loaded on that side for sure but Ryans has in my opinion elevated them even further. I'm super excited for both matchups tomorrow!
@@WhiteG60 Niners defense is loaded but its how Ryans coaches them that really stands out in big situations. As a group they communicate and tackle well which is important in playing zone heavy. But they can also change stuff a bit to play man and still carry out their gameplan consistently. Its one thing to have the talents but to get them be as consistent every week takes a good tactician.
Everyone except Jalen was wrong about him. No one...(maybe his mom) who wasn't him thought he could make these leaps. Some said he would be better but,... he wasn't good before, so that's no stretch. But,...what he worked hiss ass off to become.. that is amazing! I didn't like him( as a our Q B ) after last year. I was also way off. But that is a testimony to his drive, execution, and study. It was never easier to say I was wrong!
Even if he had flaws I believe since he improve over the year I believe he would continue to get better in my opinion. His attitude shows that he always want to put in the work.
We don't have any power backs!!! And don't forget this is truly his only 2nd starting season!!! Give him some time I promise you he will only get better!!!!but at least you came around😅😂🤣😅😂🤣
I was not a doubter, but I also could not have predicted the leap he made. It’s not a given leap in the NFL. Testament to coaching top down, organization to have the patience, and Howie’s talent acquisition. I believe it was also first year since pop Warner he had the same coordinator two years in a row.
I just have the ultimate confidence that Jalen will continue to work his flaws. He'll be the first to tell you he hasn't reached his ceiling yet and in the off-season I'm sure he's gonna work on it. Where as Wentz would always say "my style of play is what it is" I just think Hurts has the mentality to WANT to improve and be as good as he can be
Judging a player based off of 19 NFL games (15 with a new coach and system) isn't intelligent in the first place. Players need time to grow and get acclimated.
You forgot to factor in how hard he works. I prayed last off-season Eagles didn't trade for Watson or Wilson and not give Hurts a chance. His first season as a starter was better then his numbers. Reagor dropped his completion % and didn't have experience at wr. Also first six games Eagles didn't play to their strengths. Didn't run the ball and forced the pass game . The BUCS game they went back to what they did earlier in season.
One thing about Jalen Hurts, he probably watched this video and will clean it up in the Championship Game! That's how dedicate Jalen Hurts is. You point out his flaws and he corrects them, immediately!
If I were Eagles players, I'd take less money and instead become part of a dynasty. Then make my money from PR contracts with Philly region companies and big sportswear manufacturers. That's where the big $$$ are anyway.
Testament to organizational patience, coaching, building a scheme around your QB instead of dropping a QB into a scheme, and personal growth! I also look for the same with Daniel Jones with Dabol (if they truly extend him)! These are reasons I wanted my 49ers to NOT move up in the 2021 draft bc I knew it would result in Trey Lance or Justin Fields! I have always doubted Kyle’s ability to scheme around his QB and build off it vs here is the pre set scheme I think you are fit for. Which is why guys like Trey Lance, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Fields, Jalen Hurts etc would never work in the Shanahan scheme! They require patience, understanding, and freedom within the offense that would drive HC/ OCs crazy!
He has literally gotten better at football every offseason. No telling high far he can take it that boy is legit! How have people not realized this already?? I’ve known since he was THE FIRST freshman to start at bama under saban
I still don’t understand why people are shocked by this, it was evident he was going to be great. The biggest reason people were wrong about Jalen is they wrote him off early and critized him for his growing pains as a young qb. The same growing pains that every other elite qb had in their first 3 years.
Really wanted Tampa Bay to draft him, but then Brady shocked the hell out of us. I'd rather have the super bowl Brady helped bring us, buuuut I almost wish I got my wishlist. Fly eagles fly, from your frenemies in Tampa/St Pete.
Your still hating on him every qb misses reads / throws. You could make highlight reels of joe burrow/Patrick mahomes and josh allen. Even tom brady makes wrong reads. No football player will ever be perfect. He is playing football at a elite level. Still trying to prove your point at the end of the video lmao.
@@Chrisd0ntmiss it was a backhanded complement to be honest. It wasn’t too great of an analysis. We all know every Qbs has flaws in their games and you need a great supporting cast to improve.

So many people that havent actually watched Hurts this year still think hes a limited passer and just a product of a stacked team. In reality hes become a top 3/5 QB who just at purely passing has become one of best in league. Ive never seen somebody improve so much as a passer.
I was impressed by how Jalen won over the team from Carson wentz, I knew that meant he had potential. But I never thought he could improve this much in one season
So I was one of the few who was on the Jalen bandwagon. But this past season even surprised me.
I take my hat off to you Alex. This is why the media discredits this young man so much. Their egos won’t allow them to do what you just did. You’re a stand up guy!

Thanks Tone, just being honest
@@AlexRollinsNFL Respect 100% Great breakdown of his pocket presence also. I agree
Thank you for telling the truth because 97% of all these content creators that said he was trash all said they knew he was gonna be good. When, in fact, they were all saying the Eagles was stupid for trading Wentz.... Hurts is still not a finished product... He's that good...
Imagine that - people can grow and evolve even in the NFL
Insanity Tonya, simple insanity
You are not the only one, I’ve never been so happy to be wrong about my ceiling for a player in my life. I based it on all of the things you mentioned.
That's on you. The kids played well and won everywhere he's been. Alabama, Oklahoma and now Philadelphia the kid can ball
Love the humility…and analysis
Thanks KtSteve!
I've been an eagles fan for 25 years. He proved me wrong and I think about 90% of the fan base. Seems like a special dude
Nah not 90% just the Wentz lovers
Not true. The majority of the fanbase did not think hurts could be a franchise QB. All the talk was the eagles could make a trade up with thier 2 firsts to get a qb for 2023
@@DAS-nh5kr Nah just the Wentz lovers.
Now We need the 49ers 21 personnel “Death Lineup” With Kittle, Deebo, CMC, Jusz, and Aiyuk and we should be good for the season other than the Super Bowl recap❤
Great content as usual, Alex‼️🔥
I’ve stopped watching many of sports RUclipsrs because they do mental gymnastics and Jedi mind tricks to convince their audience they were never wrong, and we just misunderstood what they said. But you, Alex, admit to when you are wrong and own it. In a sea of RUclipsrs who’s egos don’t let them confess when they are wrong, you are a blessing.
I got you Ben, appreciate it
The Media was wrong for putting false narratives out before they investigated what was wrong at Alabama. They should have asked the players thats in the NFL now. What quarterback was better?
I don't think there was a narrative, Saban evaluated both QBs and decided to start Tua
I love that your opening is from madden 12. Brings back so much nostalgia every time I hear it
Is it?! Bro that was my game, but I don't remember the opening
I commend you sir, it is so refreshing to hear a commentator admit they were wrong, I will be more than happy to watch and listen to you in the future
Thank you Steve
He balled out last year too. I didn’t understand the harsh criticism you gave last year.
As I said in this episode, I over-emphasized my analysis on the Bucs playoff game. Seemed like when they took away their run game, he couldn't stand up on his own as a QB
You're not the only one dude! It ain't easy to get it right every time 😉
This is a great objective analysis. I hope Jalen puts in work in the offseason to correct these issues. Go Birds! Bring home the chip.🏆🦅🔥
Thanks Eric
Respect to you Alex, big respect to you for making this video. #FlyEaglesFLy
And now he's going to the Super Bowl!!! Fly Eagles Fly!!!🦅🦅

@@jonpoetical and we all know he was wrong. Im just agreeing with the 2nd and third reads, but other than that he been wrong the whole time. At least the idiot admitted he was wrong
Appreciate it when a man can admit when their wrong. Hopefully next time you won’t be so harsh on the future QBs
Hell of a breakdown … I believe he will keep progressing.. he’s come soo far in such a short period of time
Thanks D
You can't progress when you are already perfect
Thank you. I said you were going to be wrong in your last video. Gotta respect a man that admits when he’s wrong.
Yessir
I’m glad to see Jalen doing well and proving doubters wrong
Since the Eagles had the 4th ranked offense in the NFL last season, I'm anticipating the videos you'll produce showing the flaws in 28 other QBs games.
I hope he hits it hard again this offseason. I want him to be the next Tom.
I like these type of videos. Tons of people make predictions but I don't know many that will make a video breaking down why they were wrong.
The guy wants to be great. He is a coaches son, and is a workaholic... There is no question he will continue to improve.
Thank you Ed! Always appreciate your support bro, I have no problem being wrong, just tryna be honest
@AlexRollinsNFL yea ofc bro I love this channel man
Thanks for owning up to it. I was with him since last year, hes QB2 or QB3 in the NFL> #FlyEaglesFly.
He just needs to climb the pocket more instead of bailing out the back
He just needs to keep doing what he's doing.
Classy New Heights reference 😉
The talent level won’t drop. Basically everyone on the offense is young, and the only older player without a replacement already on the roster is Lane Johnson. Eagles have an extra 2nd rounder next year so Howie Roseman has the ammo to move up and get a RT if he wants.
You correctly analyzed what you saw on tape. He just improved in a way few expected.
Impressive. This is something that sets you apart from others. Admitting if we are wrong
🦅 🦅 🦅 Let’s Go!!!!!
Great Content Lex 🫡 💯
Respect for admitting you were wrong 💯
you looked at 'tape' and not the person and his personal continual improvement at every level. should be a learning lesson in 'evaluation', the hours a player does or doesn't put in isn't on 'tape'.
Alex drop and its a GREAT day already❗️
Appreciate you brother!
With your original video, you were correct. But Hurts put in the WORK and ascended. He proved everyone wrong.
Jalen is just a freak at development.
Who knows.
Alex!!! Why I love you and this channel so much!! Hey you have a tough job and it’s not always easy…
but you have redeemed yourself! #flyeaglesfly
Thanks my guy!
Great vid. At least some ppl have the balls to admit when they’re wrong *cough* (Chris Simms)
The great thing about Jalen. Based on his previous history its very likely he'll improve those weak spots next year.
As an Eagles fan, I never thought he would end up being an NFL starter. So happy for Jalen, proving people wrong
Ridiculous
Still, nobody's been able to take away Philys run game
We don't have any power backs!!! And don't forget this is truly his only 2nd starting season!!! Give him some time I promise you he will only get better!!!!but at least you came around😅😂🤣😅😂🤣
I was not a doubter, but I also could not have predicted the leap he made.
It’s not a given leap in the NFL.
Testament to coaching top down, organization to have the patience, and Howie’s talent acquisition.
I believe it was also first year since pop Warner he had the same coordinator two years in a row.
Nah it’s a testament to HIS hard work. He trained with two QB gurus and was relentless in training with his teammates. Stop doubting people
I just have the ultimate confidence that Jalen will continue to work his flaws.
Players need time to grow and get acclimated.
im a diehard eagles born raised and have always lived in phily and he even proved me wrong too.....
You get respect for admitting ‼️
I’m 💯% positive that Jalen Hurts could care less about what you think or thought about him. I would bet my house on that. 😂Smh.
Thankyou, its okay🦅🦅
He doesn't hold the ball long enough to throw to open players, but holds onto the ball too long?
I SEE WHAT UR SAYING....
0:08 great shot of two teammates
If I were Eagles players, I'd take less money and instead become part of a dynasty. Then make my money from PR contracts with Philly region companies and big sportswear manufacturers. That's where the big $$$ are anyway.
Well see a video like this on purdy next year as well
Takes a big man to accept they are wrong. What a match up this SB will be! I am terrified as a Chiefs fan
Thanks Moises, I got y'all winning, but I'd be terrified as well
Testament to organizational patience, coaching, building a scheme around your QB instead of dropping a QB into a scheme, and personal growth!
I’m happy to admit I was wrong too about him! Go birds 🦅
He has literally gotten better at football every offseason. No telling high far he can take it that boy is legit! How have people not realized this already?? I’ve known since he was THE FIRST freshman to start at bama under saban
thank you for making this video so the 9ers can win
I still don’t understand why people are shocked by this, it was evident he was going to be great. The biggest reason people were wrong about Jalen is they wrote him off early and critized him for his growing pains as a young qb. The same growing pains that every other elite qb had in their first 3 years.
And AJ, Devonte, & Dallas have a lot to do with that improvement
You are CONSISTENTLY WRONG!! WHATS NEW??? LAUGHABLE!!

Hey Pops, things are A1
Ah! Finally got to the end of the video. Hopefully Chris Jones, Chris Jones Hurts all day in two weeks!!
Really wanted Tampa Bay to draft him, but then Brady shocked the hell out of us. I'd rather have the super bowl Brady helped bring us, buuuut I almost wish I got my wishlist.
Fly eagles fly, from your frenemies in Tampa/St Pete.

*Crazy how some have more faith in purdy.. than hurts or fields or.. nm*
I'm pretty sure they criticize him because he runs the rpo system and Justine don't pff likes the pocket qbs that scramble
How is it hate if he backed it up with stats? Also he literally gave Jalen his props
@@Chrisd0ntmiss it was a backhanded complement to be honest. It wasn’t too great of an analysis. We all know every Qbs has flaws in their games and you need a great supporting cast to improve.
@@lonnellwashere I mean what is there left to analyze? His game isn't fucking rocket science. But his ability to help threaten the ground game with play action/RPO along with throwing 9 balls to ideal receivers like AJ Brown is putting up optimal results that can go deep in the playoffs! How that can that come from insincerity when he's the model of the optimal QB to run an ideal modern NFL offense despite his current flaws?
@@t4d0W people state the same thing about qbs, so it gets old and repetitive. There’s never much added value most of the time. Great video fly eagles fly
too often in todays NFL teams give up on QBs so quickly. 1-2 years for a 22 year old quarterback to develop is simply not enough time. unless a young QB is just absolutely horrible, they should get at least a solid 3-4 years to develop and prove what they can be
His pocket breaking is a sign of being risk averse… he’ll throw jump balls, but doesn’t throw into tight windows… I’ll take that over Josh/Dak picks.
No it’s a lack of awareness
This seems like a video that should wait until after tomrorow or even after the Super Bowl
