YO! IF YOUR EXS24 PLUGIN DOES NOT DISPLAY THE "EDIT" BUTTON DO THIS: On the top left of your screen click Logic>Preferences>Advanced Tools, then make sure ALL boxes are checked.
Man i did not think it was going to come out good at all. I was like THIS IS GOING TO SUCK..... But I was so so wrong, it sounds so right once you got to the effects and all. And yes I did learn something....Peace and love always
yo man, this is so dope to be honest, u r very real to me especially when those phone ring came in and what you act for it which make me laugh during this kind of tutorial video lmao but most important is while u r keeping real u r still showing us the real skills u got. so i think u r interesting and dope to me. i learn a looot! THANK U SOOOO MUCH!
I've been trying to make that sound trying change the pitch in different ways and finally found the answer to my problems! Thanks so much man! Deff sub!
hey thanks for making this. as far as getting the pitch correct, i turned flex on, went to pitch correction, and just dragged the pitch from whatever it was to C, then pull the correction bar to 100%, then bounce the file in place, and put the new bounced C note file into EXS24 starting on C and drag the range I want.
Just a tip for people, who can't hear the note (the hard part, he refers to, where he moves the notes). If you meter (check tone) the sample before you put it in the sampler, you can set the sample as the root key. Correct me if I'm wrong
+Eric Boisson He is checking the tone = what notes must he play in order for it to harmonize with the track. If you dont have an ear for listening which tone it is, you can use the function "tuner" in Logic. You find that plugin under "Metering". Thats just another way of deciding the tone of your sample :)
Hi Johannes do you think you could clarify a little bit on changing the pitch of the sample so it harmonizes. I can't quite hear it with my ear and was wondering the steps you would go about for being able to check the tone of the chop?
Nice vid man. Tuning the note the easiest way is just to identify the vocal chop and then set it in EXS24 so it plays the true note without having to drag the midi around at all.
you should have used the tuner to find the pitch of the vocal chop. then set that as your root note in the esx24. then everything would have been in the right pitch.
Hey found this video really helpful! One question I was wondering though... The original vocals you used in the beginning of the video before you chopped it up, sounded really nice and professional...I was wondering how you recorded them and what you used to process them? (Unless it was a sample) But thanks a lot!
so, how many steps of this tutorial You can skip if you just click on the sample with right mouse button and choose the first option on the list - Export to EXS24 sampler ?
right click on audio -> convert to new sampler just seems to be the easiest. also try to pitch correct these vocals before or after this method - they will fit better in your mix homie - best regards and good luck
Everything is going well for me up until I have to open the ESX24, It doesn't give me the option to edit, just a blank space where the button should be :/ Any suggestions?
You should be busing your reverb and delays. Also finding the key of the vocal sample before hand and assigning it to the correct key is usually the better way of doing it.
Hey alex can you make a tutorial on creating the synth from the drop on Addicted to a Memory by Zedd? Its a great patch and has tons of uses, it would make a great video!
+Mariano yea. watch seamlessr's video called 'track from scratch: trap from scratch' I find that lead to be very similar. there is like 20 parts to that video but find the one where he makes the lead
Silly question, but how do you create a instrument track that doesn't automatically populate to an electric piano. I see how you're accessing the synth, but when I create a software track (clicking the + icon) I get a different result
Duuude... I started laughing so hard when you said it's "it's the same guy" 😂😂😂
lol blowin me up to this day too
hahah lying
lol me too
deadass hahaha
Me too. Classic! 😂
One of the best logic tutorials I’ve seen! Thanks for making it so easy and clear to understand and follow!
YO! IF YOUR EXS24 PLUGIN DOES NOT DISPLAY THE "EDIT" BUTTON DO THIS:

thank you so much
thnx bro!
is there a way to change from a polyphonic mode to lead or mono in alchemy?
thank you bro
nvm i forgot how voices work lmao
Wow, those chords are beautiful!
the hard part can be easy
just copy the track into the sampler and change the root key to the note that your other lead starts with
"Its the same guy"
SADI 😂😂😂😂
Love your chill no-nonsense tuts man. Really excellent. Subscribed!
Man i did not think it was going to come out good at all. I was like THIS IS GOING TO SUCK..... But I was so so wrong, it sounds so right once you got to the effects and all. And yes I did learn something....Peace and love always
Omg thank you bro.
Don't know why I see this video 3 years after.

Simple and to the point bro. Excellent tutorial. Thanks.
This is actually super useful thanks for making this mate really appreciate it
great tutorial. might i suggest setting the original slice pitch to C3 with Flex pitch, bounce it in place then place the bounce into the sampler.
Thank you SO MUCH! I've been wanting to learn how to do this for a while!
hey thanks for making this. as far as getting the pitch correct, i turned flex on, went to pitch correction, and just dragged the pitch from whatever it was to C, then pull the correction bar to 100%, then bounce the file in place, and put the new bounced C note file into EXS24 starting on C and drag the range I want.
Great video, dude. That is what i have been looking for

Awesome melody dude!
why don't you just use the tuner in EXS24 to tune your samples? Why do you add gain in the compressor? EXS24 has a volume knob
I thought it’s always good to have a compressor on vocal’s but I wanna know tio
Awesome!! Thanks for this tutorial

You can use the transposer in midi effects to change the pitch of the the vocals
yea there's so many ways to change vocal pitches l.
Another reason to say that logic is a great program ;)
You da man
Thanks man
Good job, enjoy
you should have used the tuner to find the pitch of the vocal chop. then set that as your root note in the esx24. then everything would have been in the right pitch.
"It's....the same guy" lmao!!!!
nice tutorial! and i love the pad in the background! is that selfmade or a preset? :)

Hey Alex I was wondering what 4 Chords did you use in here?

You should be busing your reverb and delays. Also finding the key of the vocal sample before hand and assigning it to the correct key is usually the better way of doing it.

Wich Virtual Instrument did you use for the harmony?
thanks :))
Hey alex can you make a tutorial on creating the synth from the drop on Addicted to a Memory by Zedd? Its a great patch and has tons of uses, it would make a great video!
+Mariano ill check it out
+Mariano can't do that one bro. He probably used serum or some kind of F.M. synth and i don't use either. Thats a sound i probably couldn't make.
+Alex Rome thanks anyways for checking it out. Any advice on recreating it though?
+Mariano yea. watch seamlessr's video called 'track from scratch: trap from scratch' I find that lead to be very similar. there is like 20 parts to that video but find the one where he makes the lead
Silly question, but how do you create a instrument track that doesn't automatically populate to an electric piano. I see how you're accessing the synth, but when I create a software track (clicking the + icon) I get a different result
I think theres a checkbox for empty when you create
